I just woke up and when I turned on my phone, YT notified me that niki uploaded new songs. THANK GOD I'M STILL ALIVE! Thank you niki for using Lily again! I'm so happy 😍😍😍
I just realized something amazing. This song, Dependent, and Jitter Doll; they both use the term 「人類」"jinrui" in reference to humankind. I've only been studying Japanese on and off for 8~ish years, but I'm so certain that "Jinrui" is a super uncommon word to use. I've heard 「人間」 "ningen" used way more often as the term to describe "humankind", but ningen is moreso just more like a group of people, as opposed to jinrui, which is like the entire race. So it's like some sort of "archaic" (that's a huge exaggeration xD), detached way to describe humankind. which I think goes so well with Niki's use of a naive, robot-like mindset within his songs; someone unfamiliar with the subject of humankind and the condition of the human heart would very likely use odd words to describe things, because they don't know how to relate to it quite yet. Interesting, huh?
SAiKA I think of it more along the lines of cynicism than naive robot mindset. Considering how previous songs talk about the grief of a lost love one and how the griever is handling since then, trying to find hope and a reason to live on forward, I see this song more along the lines of the person coming to turns with it enough and accepting the both the good and the bad in life. (That’s probably just me thinking that though...)

I really don't think so!! >~< I've been listening to Niki since 2012, translating each song of his that comes out, it would be so sad to think about him being cynical! Do you suppose maybe he's coming from a place of being jaded? Like that kind of thinking that no matter what you do, nothing's ever going to come of it, and only bad things could ever happen? Is that what cynicism is? I always thought it had a more evil or hateful tone or side to it, and I don't see that in Niki at all. He has a lot of tentative hope in the heart of his songs.
SAiKA Grief has a way of shaking one’s viewpoint of the world. In that state of loss comes negative thoughts thus leading to cynicism as to how you feel about the world and yourself. Going into states of deep depression and the feeling of how nothing’s going to matter or change in life(of your own and or life itself). Delving into delusions/ fantasies to fill the void of sadness and reminisce of a time much happier. Easy to look at things through a negative view, begrudging reality(and humanity). How at times it’s easy to give up and lose sight of life and living. And yet despite all of those things, you continue to move forward. The acceptance of such, the awareness of your state and allowing to see the values in life; hope. So yes, I guess that is what I mean???? I have always looked up to him as If he were to be a god-like figure xD It really reminds me of growing up. I used to fill my mind with listless delusions and fantasies. Niki really is my favourite for Lily songs! I feel like Lily is pretty underused, but maybe I’m just not looking in the right places? If anyone has any good songs with Lily, I’d be grateful for recommendations!
As you already know, Niki uses Lily as his muse of sorts :3 I don't know if you listen to a lot of Niki songs, but have a small list just in case!! Arrow, Wave, Jitter Doll, FIRST, FACE, ELECT, HYBRID, Error, Reverse, Plane Theory, Sun, Yubi Enpitsu (finger pencil) and a kajillion others xD Lily's "threadnation" and "Detour-Tour" by EZFG are more REALLY good ones, if you like EDM/techno dance-y music. You can also look up Lily covers of other vocaloid songs, and see if you can get anything from that! :3 vocaloid is infamous for making song covers for every single character ever xD
as far as producers go you may want to check out 午後ティー (hasn't used lily in a while though) and リセット (hasn't uploaded anything new in a couple of years lol rip)
