Great explanation! With day to day electricity I see it as sound waves, the medium (air particles) doesn't move that much (slow) but the information (actual sound wave) travels very fast.
I like the term "e l e c t r o m a g n e t i s m" too! It makes electricity sound important. Why can't we have "electrogravitism"? OMG, maybe we do? What if gravity is just a wayward perverse form of electricity? I thought lightning rises from the ground to the clouds. Do we have high-speed photographs that show which direction it flows?
@@r.w.emersonii3501 re: electrogravitism, check on my video "what's the biggest unsolved problem in physics"! I think you'll be delighted 😄 Hmm lightning forms bc of a charge imbalance in the atmosphere. the charge builds up in the atmosphere and when it gets large enough to overcome the insulation of air, it finds the easiest path to the earth. That said, the imbalance is so strong it can draw out charge from the nearest objects on the ground which is why we see "mini upside down lightning bolts"!
@@JenFoxBot I stand corrected! Your explanation makes sense. I wonder whether earthquakes create enough static electricity to cause lightning to rise from the ground.
@@JenFoxBot Is the relationship between gravitational attraction and mass absolutely linear? Can we rule out synergy -- force increasing once a "critical mass" is reached? BTW, most of your videos are delightful. I want to explore your math videos.
The goddess Aphrodite, I knew you looked familiar. Love the hair, also a great vid.
😊These are great! keep making videos :-)
@@KevinDiVico yayy thank you!!
Very cool 😎 👌

@@andresj5512 ohh I like that analogy, very cool!
Awesome
Jen, cracking videos as usual, and great sassy Greek goddess style you've got going on with the Aphrodite/Thetis look! Do you have a Zeus? 😂
a goddess, of course 😊
thanks for the video. hope you had fun making it.
@@RacerS2 I did! Always love teaching and sharing my passion for stem shenanigans and learning from others 😄

OOO pick me pick me... Question: How does magnetic levitation work ?
@@aaronag7876 omstars yes!! I can totes cover that. In the meantime, I do have some videos on magnetism in my "physics" playlist !
great content!
