An interesting fact is he actually takes the mask off and faces away from the crowd when he plays this song live. It's truly like his most vulnerable state when he is performing this song. He often gets emotional and starts crying during performances as well. You can tell he has put his entire soul into the music and it's such a beautiful thing, these emotions are real.
The piano is definitely Vessel's instrument. Have you thought about going through their whole discography (but leaving Euclid for last) and checking off each song as you go along? Because I think us Sleep Token fans will end up recommending them all eventually anyway. Even songs you might not like, because they show such versatility of sound. Saying that, I'm still going to take my chance to ask for 'Dark Signs', please.
Nice reaction, guys. Agree with you that the mask helps us focus more on the music; I also wonder if wearing the mask helps Vessel be more free with his emotions.
That's what I thought initially when I first learned about ST. The mask allows Vessel to sing in a way that he probably would not be able to either because he'd be self conscious or embarrassed maybe? about all the emotion he's feeling.
In the only interview provided by Vessel in 2017 regarding their anonymity and style he stated: “Our identities are unimportant. Music is marketed on who is or isn’t in a band; it’s pushed, prodded and moulded into something it isn’t. Vessel endeavours to keep the focus on His offerings.” “Life is dark. Life is bright. Life is ugly. Life is beautiful. Don’t get lost in genres, they’ll only disorientate you. Music is for everyone.” And I couldn’t agree more.
So glad to see you guys liked this! some of my favourite lyrics ever are from this song, and I agree that the mask is a great choice for vessel and makes him, for lack of better words, a vessel for his emotion and for meaning. personally I'd recommend maybe taking a look at their older stuff, just for the fun of it. Nazareth in particular is a haunting banger that I love, but one of my favourite lyrics comes from Jericho. other than that, I agree with other people saying you should try Fall For Me (with the video 🙏 ofc) and perhaps start the trilogy from the beginning with The Night Does Not Belong To God :}
Telomeres For the reasons you stated is exactly why they are masked. Vessel wanted us to focus on the music not their looks. Even though I know who they are all it doesn’t change the way I hear their music.
I agree with some people telling you to just start from the beginning, because the three albums are a set, a trilogy. Like any book set there is one underlying story throughout all the books. Consider the albums like books, and each song is a chapter and tells a part of the story. You wouldn't want to read the last book first would you? Like their Rituals, their Teeth of God tour right now here jn the States ( I just saw them) they played the songs according to their trilogy starting with The Night Does Not Belong To God and ending eith Euclid, which is the last song on the TMBTE album and has callbacks to several songs in their discography. So, honestly i do think you should start from the beginning to see the whole story. Worship ❤
@@urfvsuthrngal318 very true, they have evolved and perfected their sound, but all the elements are there from the beginning. Just pure emotion, talent and genius.
If you want something a bit different by Sleep Token, Fall For Me is a great one. It's heavy on vocal effects. Kinda Imogen Heap style. But no instruments whatsoever.
Higher is a powerfullllll track. They just don’t make bad song. The other heavy hitter of sleep tokens discography of beauty is a song called “drag me under” , it is an absolutely beautiful song with amazing lyrics

I knew you guys would love this one. It's so impactful. The mask allows him to express that pain with less judgement.
One of my favorite ST songs. Great reaction fellas!!
He is so versatile and so emotional and raw. That's what I love about Vessel.
Worship 💜🙏
I was fortunate enough to attend a ritual last night. Goddamn do I love this band. Worship gents, thanks for doing this one! ❤

Not commenting during the song says a lot about the emotions pouring out of it. Vessel is a genius of emotion. Great reaction guys!

The Way That You Where is amazing too
If you want more heavenly vocals check out their cover of Loathe - Is It Really You

Hallelujah live from many angles
That one is so so special
I love how he lets his emotions just flow through him. It's even more so live. So wonderful all of their songs imo. Love the reactions ❤
This was a great reaction! I love them so much. I suggest Fall For Me!
I agree wholeheartedly!!!
Missing limbs is another voice one ♥️♥️♥️

Please do every single song. Dive the rabbit hole, you won't regret. Start from the EPs, and go for it!
The Album/studio version is also great
Rocking the Von Jersey! Nice!

Will do 😀
I second this 100% you can hear the evolution but they've always been sleep token even from the fIrst EP imo

This version always makes me cry lol yall should check out vessels version of "hey ya" by outcast.
You guys need to listen to Jericho and Jaws 👌🏻
While I like this version more, I think you guys should also give the album version a listen; it feels pretty different, lots more instruments.

Higher please 🤗
