Information is excellent as always. But I want to thank you for other reasons this time. I really appreciate how you understand your viewers. By that I mean always thanking us for taking our time out to watch, and respecting the fact that we all have many things to do throughout the day. Your short and get to the point educational sessions are great. I don’t have to sit around for 30, 45 and even longer minutes listening to a lot of yakking and getting absolutely nothing in the end for it. So thank you for that.

I was always of the mindset that the trailer needed to match the jig. While fishing with my son-in-law he started using a green/brown jig with a dark blue trailer and was getting bites and I wasn't.
This weekend I was fishing and using a black/blue jig with a matching trailer (because the green/brown setup virtually disappeared in the water) and wasn't getting bit so I decided to use a green pumpkin trailer with the black/blue jig and started getting bites. Less than 2 ft. visibility and bright sunny day 4'-6' deep, 90 degrees out and water temp was 80. Flipping up along the weed line and then letting it "soak" a few seconds then dragging it out slowly on the bottom. Proof that sometimes you need to mix it up! Thanks for the video Randy!

I can't wait until work is over to check this out! I love jig fishing more than anything. I just moved back Michigan for a new industrial electrician job, so I'm living on the lake for the next couple months while I get my own house out here. I've been dock skipping jigs like madman out here, every dang day, can't wait to see some tricks I've never thought of. Sucks I'm stuck in this noisy shop and can't hear anything

I can’t wait till you get more detailed about jig’s. It’s something I’ve been seriously been working on for three years now and fishing more than 4 - 5 times a week. I truly think jig fishing has the most vast ways of catching big to even smaller Bass... if there was a college course on the subject I’d never miss a minute of a class! lol but I’m obsessed with pitching and flipping, so much so I have to put them down sometimes to catch them different way’s that could be more productive!

Great content as always. Definitely and "advanced" video but still some good info on some basics, like combos for water clarity and weather (daylight/cold-front considerations). But the "advanced " stuff seems to require "time on the water" for experimentation....and that's what I don't have the "need" for. I like fishing, but it's not tournament level. Regardless, always great content!

Good content, lately I've been tying my jig up with a non slip loop knot. I notice it imparts a little more wiggle on the jig as it falls especially with a lighter jig. I also prefer this knot on jerk baits to instead of a split ring.

  • @hunterlawrence7228

Randy you said you sacrifice bites for quality.
I notice that when I use jigs around timber or lay downs, the bites I do get are big. I have done very well flipping jigs. I have probably maybe caught 3-5 bass less than 4lbs. Most of them are at a minimum, on the larger side. This is something I’ve observed to be repeatable.

I like a jig that can both be swam for a reaction strike and dropped by cover like normal jig fishing. change the profile based on speed of the drop i want or needed to trigger the bite. If you believe there is a bass on a specific piece of cover they can be made to bite. could be on the third cast or maybe the 10th or 12th cast but usually though you need some variation of swimming that jig in order to make them bite. Old school guys used to say it was getting the right deflection or angle. I kind of think you are making them mad.

I leave the keitech swimbaits on my jigs and chatterbaits when I put them back in my boxes and they are fine.
