@@WrestlingVideoGames That seizure-looking sell is cringe worthy AF- in the best way! Haha! It looks BRUTAL. Really fitting for a gaming engine developed around mid-late 90's All Japan by a few Human Entertainment/Fire Pro castaways.
At the time I thought some of these moves were fantasy moves that couldn't actually be done by real people. Of course this was before I was watching Puroresu and had no idea they were in fact real moves.
Fun fact: The Burning Hammer is tied with Strong Lariat (AKA Burning Lariat) and Super Snap Powerbomb 02 (Vader's powerbomb) as the strongest single-hit finisher in the entire AKI wrestling game series, dealing 45 damage (unless you also count the 3 apron finishers (Powerbomb, Tiger Driver, and Chokeslam))
@@EliteEasyE You have to go within the game's ROM to look at move damage values, as well as moves' offensive and defensive parameters and attitude gain/loss
@@EliteEasyE Yeah! I do have a spreadsheet, but it's not on the computer I'm currently using. I'll upload it to my Dropbox later if you want to look at the damage values of moves (they are in hexadecimal btw, so 1E = 30, 2D = 45, etc)
@@WrestlingVideoGames the TKO for me and the snapping sound when it hits always sounded better / looked better than the fireman carry cutters in recent games.
It's called a flying armbar in MMA. It's called Six Second Magic in the game because a fighter named Rumnina Sato once won a fight with it in six seconds.
I love that you're able to have quick and dirty 3-4 minute matches here. Matches in the 2K games (yes even back when Yuke's made them with Visual Concepts) were so tedious, especially under 2K. Poorly designed as hell. You practically *felt* the "beat them down to their health level is in the red," even outside of story mode. It was a chore rather than fun. I hope Yuke's and Geta can replicate that No Mercy *feel* that Kenny Omega talks about. Hell, Yuke's got kinda close on the Gamecube, though they exaggerated about the amount of involvement by former AKI employees. Sanders Keels just did some Retro Game Rewiew podcast earlier this year and when Geta's name was brought up he was more excited than when he thought it was the gamecube guy, who I think did a serviceable job, but when you can get the director as an advisor, I think you want the director.
You could chain the Russian neck drop, with the pick up Russian neck drop, and just hold down the A button for your character to continue to do it until the special meter ran out.
Damn it where can I find a No Mercy game that won't delete everything that I achieved and created? Its impossible to find the right one since they are considered rare.
@@WrestlingVideoGames Yea, got a glitched one for Christmas, too. I called the number on the box and sent mine in and THQ sent me a fixed one and a letter. Can't find the letter for the life of me but it was on nice stationary with a THQ letterhead and a red stripe running across the top.
@@melaninking199 you have to look at the back of the cartridge to be sure that it reads with a certain number. Can't remember exactly but there are videos on youtube that explain this.

I always loved that in the N64 and PS2 wrestling games that moves from past games would be put in the next one. These are really badass looking moves.

Im surprise no one actually has the 6 seconds of magic as a real finisher
It's a legit hold based on Rumina Sato
I think AJ Lee did before she retired.
@@_fadingcolors Incorrect. AJ Lee's finishing submission move was the "Black Widow" (an octopus stretch).

Somebody had a lesson about grappling wrestling and puroresu at this time
I think Sasha banks and bayley reference this game
Dude I played this game countless times, I had no idea that the green mist stays on your opponent after you spray it on them.
I didn't even know the mist was an animation I never bought it 😂
Same thing as the "soot" from the Fireball.
I’m still playing No Mercy to this day
Same here 👍🏿💯💯💯
Same! My tablet absolutely blows but it plays N64 games beautifully.
There is also a corner Muta Mist into a hurricanrana...

screwdriver was deadly
It looks insane, in the game and in real life.
Scott Steiner doesn't get enough credit for being an innovator
Was the difference between the fire ball and the green mist just the color?
The damage output as well. The Fireball is much stronger than the Poison Mist (20 --> 35)
The fireball also causes burn marks on the face
