Matchbox restoration Mercedes 230 SL nr 27 diecast car making doors

The Mercedes convertible was produced in England at the Lesney factory in two versions. In this video I combined both models. The cars didn't have windows. The Superfast version was badly damaged. I had to make resin doors and wheels, and make both windows. I completed the whole with standard boxes in which both models were sold.

You used ca glue on the windshields and didn't craze them with the fumes? How did the automotive paint work on the new resin.doors?

Pamiętam jak się wyciągało z pudełeczek nowiutkie modele ostrożnie żeby pudełka nie zniszczyć a potem delikatnie tak jak na filmie do środeczka i na półkę.Był kiedyś w Opolu taki sklep ''Jacek i Agatka'' na krakowskiej z ''żelaźniakami'' .W latach siedemdziesiątych to była świątynia zabawek dla dzieciaków.Teraz dzieci już nie szanują zabawek.

If the door does not close then the spring has probably shifted to one side and must be leveled. It may also be that it does not stick to the mounts. Best wishes

Consider this: Diecast toys were meant to be played with, raced, crashed together, and generally speaking---abused! They weren't like, say, Baseball Cards, which were meant to be collected. Okay, some cards were clipped to bicycle tires, to create a clicking noise! I get it, but more exception, than rule. What you rescuers are doing is furthering a different category of diecast--your finished project IS NOT INTENDED for typical child's play. Rather, your completed pieces are for display cases, fireplace mantels, and curios. Besides TOMICA, I can't think of any other companies which have made 1:43 or 1:63 scale diecast collectibles. Have there been others?

Exactly as you write, my renovations are collectible, that's why I'm building my collection, I think that the time of playing with models from the 70s is over and they have become so rare that they are used by the elderly to remember their youth. Kind regards
