for some reason, playing with computers for 30 years, i've only just gotten into proper Mechanical Keyboards in last 6 months. I don't know what I was doing all this time. Love these reviews
lol same dude, I've been typing 100+ wpm in my jobs for 20 odd years and I'm like...why don't I get a decent keyboard? now all of a sudden I have 4 and probably 5 active shipments of parts on the way to my house hahaha
It's interesting for the productive side, I don't know if it would be something I would use but if I get to use for example my tablet as my main device for personal use, it makes a lot of sense and won't be limited only to one device which is great
Just got mine with Jupiter banana switches. Boy this thing is heavy and solid! The closest I've been to a custom board is my Asus Strix Scope II 96 which was my favourite keyboard before getting the Q5 Max. I love the feel/sound of the keys and the RGB was a nice bonus (didn't expect a 'serious' keyboard like the Keychron to have RGB!). I bought an aluminium silver wrist-rest to complement this aluminium board partnered with a white Logitech G502 X Plus and am very happy with the combination. As I'm a RGB fanatic I permanently connected the USB-C power cord and used it in cabled mode (doubt I'll be using it remotely due to its hefty weight).
Thanks for the review. I just ordered mine. Upgrading from the K2 which I really love. I have to say, I do not like the sound of the banana switches. Just too clacky for me :)
man that is a nice keyboard, though I do like to have a bit more media buttons, I know you have the circles but for me seperate buttons for just media is nice to have ^^ also... for someone who normally buys like 20 dollar keyboards... bit much ^^
DO NOT BUY from the manufacturer. We purchased a keyboard from them and it came with broken keys. They are giving us a big run around on replacing the broken keys or processing a return. Their customer service is horrible. Find a different keyboard for the price.
There's s MASSIVE FLAW of the keyboard. The Backlight is USELESSS. The characters don't lit because it's not transparent. Whoever thought of that DUMB idea? You won't see the characters in shaded or dark conditions. Funny no one talks about this. It's like most people and the creator of this doesn't even understand what's the purpose of backlighting..
Very valid point but can't really blame Keychron as they're not mainstream gamer-centric like Razer or Corsair with all the RGB blitz. I'm surprised that 'serious' custom board brands like Keychron even do RGB. As the keyboard is always set in front of the PC monitor the ambient light would make the non-directly lighted key caps visible in the dark. I have Razer & Corsair boards that light up like a Christmas tree but I do not expect it from Keychron. I ordered this and an aluminum wrist-rest to complement it.
@@artyboy1377 It's a shame really, the main reason backlight was there for keyboard is for the illumination of characters. Looks like they did this product with half a brain.
@valcrist7428 I agree. RGB is not only for bling but serves a purpose in illuminating the characters on a keyboard. Hope they do that in their next revision.

09:30 that's the reason I went with the Q12, no need to move the mouse if you're fine with your left hand operating the number pad

Im getting a q6 max with gateron Jupiter reds. Cant wait.
I’m waiting for my order that’s supposed to arrive in 2 more days.
I just bought the barebones version of this. I am going to install TTC Silent Frozen switches with some JSJT keycaps I found on Amazon.
How was it with the silent frozen? I've bought some of those switches and plan on putting it on a Q6 later on.

Congrats and yes hands down a great keyboard. Hope you will enjoy it
Nice video! I have heard many if issues with the stabilizers. How are yours? What sweet dual monitor is that?

the nice thing about it is that you can reprogram the keys to what ever you want.
how does it stack up against Q5 pro?
very nice, would you review a laptop cooler?
Thank you! 👍😎
Thank you too!
Your title says q1. Then you say q5. Fix it?
thank you for the notice, I fixed it
keychron is a biggie in keyboard world
so good, clean and durable
that is not green...
Wow

I'm guessing they just expect you to buy translucent keycaps if you want to.
