Can I Beat Halo CE Legendary in Under 90 Minutes?

- I originally learned Halo CE Legendary speedrunning many years ago to get the Goat Roped achievement. I got it back then, but barely. So, I decided to really try to learn and get good at speedrunning CE and get a time over twice as fast as needed for Goat Roped: 90 minutes.

Eli actually works for some special effects studio and is currently making bank. He stopped doing halo stuff when microsoft (not 343) force changed his name because "nak3d" is suggestive. He was slowly losing interest in halo in general but that was the final nail for him.
He also apparently got some disease or illness that has made it hard for him to speak for very long terms, like 2-4 hours a day. So even if he was still into content creating it would be very spaced out due to this.
He also got married around 2017/18 something like that. I had to ask Joker who was the Halo 4 speedrunner during Eli's day cause they used to make videos together. Eli was a treasure to the semi-hardcore casual group and will forever be missed

I remember binging Eli's zero shot runs back in 2014 on my older sister's 3ds lol. It sucks that he's gone. Quitting just because of the name is stupid, but the other reasons he quit are pretty valid.
I remember when I finally got the achievement for Halo CE in under 3 hours, such a sigh of relief! I then tried Halo 2 and quit.

I got Halo CE and Halo 2 but I need to finish Halo 4 legendary and I dislike the game so I have been beating around the bush to finish it.

CE was the first game I ever played at an age where I shouldn't have been playing video games it's so nostalgic for me and I still go back to it every now and again. I also have a love for Halo Custom Edition the firefight and single player maps were tons of fun to play around in

I'm here before you blow up. I appreciate how detailed you are, very rare with smaller channels. I actually learned a few things I never knew from this video like the sentinels at the end of 343 Guilty Spark or that the banshee doesn't need to be flown out to finish Keyes. I've done just about everything including LASO yet never knew those two things lol.
Extremely underrated and can't wait to see you succeed even more.

Despite banshee grab being the easier one for some reason i just couldn't get it so i opted for the bridge fall, was much more consistent with it. Can never get bored of playing this game.
if you attempted it sometime in the fall last year, I think 343 accidentally changed the flight patterns and made it impossible to do it, they fixed it around December last year though

I appreciate the optimization using the easier strats. I'm doing a co-op LASO run with my brother and the speedrun tricks help make it possible. We're currently on assault on the control room and I need to learn the banshee grab.
Banshee grab looks way harder than it really is. I'd recommend Chronos's tutorial
@@frogarchist I just pulled it off a few hours ago. It's a little harder/more RNG on LASO because of the exploding grunts. If the grunt spawns on the right his explosion usually kills me. That was a welcome treat for such a fast level in the playlist.

I enjoy it because you’re learning the tricks as well, and not a 15 year veteran boringly explaining how to do so! (Not saying that’s bad; I don’t mind walk through tutorials) I just like the way you go about it.
Also collecting achievements and learning how to run these games is entertaining!
I can see this channel getting bigger, and also maybe branching into different games, learning the tricks and making more content to keep it going!

I will at some point. The issue with it being a regular series is that it takes a ton of time. Each game is a completely different speed run, and I'd have to start from scratch. So, it's more likely something that I'll add to every few months rather than every few weeks.

I remember when Halo 3 was coming out G4 TV had a live show of a big midnight release of it and had 2 guys playing Halo 1 on legendary before midnight and I think they beat it with only a few minutes left.

On the original xbox if you hold x on the panel before you get to Keys it skips having to run back with Keys. I don't know if this works on MCC

If you use the boom/sputnik skull to make grenade jumps easier, does it still count for the achievement?
I think you can use any skull that doesn't have a 0x multiplier
@@frogarchist Oh nice that could probably make Truth and Reconciliation triple grenade jump quite a bit easier I imagine
Your grenades actually do more damage on lower difficulties, so on any difficulty other than legendary, having Boom on would definitely kill you. Don't know about Legendary, though. On T&R, you could do the first jump for sure because of the overshield and then just walk to the third floor on the normal path.

It's only on Heroic or Legendary. Easy has its own strat called the bridge fall.
And to this day doing beating all campaigns under 3 hours is something I will never be able to do because how unlucky I am with the enemies
I swear the banshee skip on AotC is the least consistent thing I've done in my life. Sometimes I get it first try perfectly and other times I spend 30 minutes failing it

Yooo a naked Eli shout out? I watched him too and still use his strats (ik they aren’t the best anymore)
That end trigger skip on truth and rec? Played the level the legit way without skipping and somehow got that ending skip.
It's tied to the hangar door being open. Usually you would hit a trigger which closes it but the grenade jump skips it so it stays open. However there is also a button which opens the door on the middle floor which is there for foehamner reinforcements. If you open the door and then proceed to the control room relatively quickly, the door doesn't have enough time to close again and will remain stuck open, triggering the early ending.
