Saw this and instantly went: "Welp, how is my boy getting his ass whooped today?" Being a vegeta fan is suffering bro, that's for sure.
You know it, he always knows how to put on a show though and get the whole crowd rooting for him.

What lessens the blow for me is Vegeta has won a death battle before when he fought shadow the hedgehog. It sucks more when a character you enjoy dies in the very first fight with no W’s attached.
Fun Fact: They got Lani from Team Four Star to reprise his role as Vegeta. Same with Jonah Scott for Thor back in the Wonder Woman fight.

It was obvious Thor was going to win. The second Vegeta went UE that early on the fight it was over. I learned years ago that whichever combatant uses their Trump cards first are 98% most likely to lose. Still a badass fight

Even for the standards of comics, Vegeta would be considered pretty much a powerhouse in them. It's just that he doesn't quite reaches Thor's level.

Literally anything live action makes the characters nerfed. They have to. Even characters without superpowers are nerfed in live action films.
Yeah What If...? Ultron is much more comic book accurate in terms of power when he gets sufficient preparation.
Nerfing means downgrading characters, or making them weak...or in a VS debating aspect... "lowballing characters"...
A nerf is the opposite of a buff. It's a term that means ''to handicap or downgrade something''. It's mainly used for sports, wrestling or video games to show when someone or something isn't performing as well as they should or use to. Like, imagine if you used to be good at basketball, then you injured your knee so you can't play as well as you used to for a while. That's technically a nerf, since you got downgraded due to an injury. It's like that; in the MCU, they SEVRELY make their characters weaker so that the writers and directors can make them less ridiculous for general audiences.
Thor currently is the King of Asgard with Odinforce now known as Thorforce and has taken the entire Power Cosmic from Galactus to become a form call Herald of Nothing.
I'm happy Thor Odinson won because the comic book version of the character has rarely been represented in the MCU movies and shows man

The problem with Live Action versus animation, or just comics, is that when you're drawing everything anyway, there's no concern for sets or camera or even budget. But once you have to build a set, either in real life or digitally... Suddenly things get a lot smaller in scale comparatively.
The ending of the fight is a direct reference ro the final page of Thor: Worldengine, ya love to see it.

Honestly Bardock would’ve been a better match up for Omni-man power level and origin wise. But in terms of story themes homelander is 100% fitting.
Homelander is definitely more similar to Omni-Man than Bardock is, but unfortunately there's no suspense with how obvious the outcome is.

@@SeiyaTempest well in terms of roles in the superhero Genre yea but keep in mind both Bardock and Omni-Man are human like alien soldiers who are sent to varying planets to destroy all resistance on said planets to be sold off/integrated into the empire they serve who eventually turn against the empire they swore eternal loyalty towards.
When you take into consideration how old Thor is and all, makes sense. With Vegetas zenkai boost if he were around as long as Thor he woulda dog walked him
The real thing is that there will be dozens of versions of these characters in marvel and DC and feats gotta be pulled from them all to make an amalgamation of the character and place into this setting whereas for a character like vegeta with multiple other forms like xeno and capsule corp from heroes, we only get to see vanilla vegeta represented. Which is fair but also feels disingenuous
@JoeBidenSniffsKids the thing that i hate about death battle is that they use feats from different versions of the characters for comics but don't use different versions of vegeta in turn. Use heroes vegeta if your gonna use a bunch of different versions of thor
@@GeoX242 ok...but they used the majority of base thor of earth 616 (canon), not even touching on his current most powerful run yet with the power of the all father, odinforce.
I see people with the same complaints about multiple continuities, but I think they fail to see how power scaling works with the canon and non canon versions.
Simply put, if the non canon is very similar or weaker, it can be used, a good ex: using MCU thor (noncanon) feats for 616 Thor, as MCU characters are peebles to their comic counterparts.
A bad way of using noncanon feats/scaling would be like giving Spider-man his most powerful version, Cosmic Spider-man (a Spider-man given the Uni-power, thats literally living plot armor, making him practically a God) in his next match up. The problem is 616 Spider-man only used it for like a day, lost the power and never it had since. There versions where he kept the Uni-Power, but that shouldn't be used because that's not really within 616 Spidey's arsenal.

They're still interesting in the comics and they are that strong.
I think it's just mostly because of the limitations with current technology and the cost to make movies/TV shows.
The closest we got for comic book level strength on screen is Infinity Stone Ultron vs The Watcher (Which was animated) which they could never really do in live action right now since it would be extremely time consuming and costly (Most MCU live action movies cost at least $200 million to make).

Goku is the most loved anime character but vegeta is the realest and best character. It’s like the plot is “life” always making him lose or be defeated but his determinations, willpower and pride always comes out on top and he never gives up.
Not true at all. Vegeta's character was abandoned at the buu arc, Goku is a typical shonen protag, and the dragon ball story is non existent, just going from event to event because toriyama can't write to ave his life.

Indeed, his destruction power is kinda new. He got a new form now called Ultra ego which comes from destruction while goku has ultra instinct comming from the angels. Fits them perfectly because goku is calm and light minded where vegeta aint

The results would be the same either way, but it would have been a bit closer if they also included all of Vegeta's zenkais and training power boosts. Also didn't mention that Vegeta absorbed his God power into his base as well, otherwise base Goku would be far above Base Vegeta.

@@TheGloryXros When they calculated the destructive power of Vegeta's forms after the fight concluded, they only showed the base increase of each form, not taking into account any of Vegeta's zenkais or training power increases.

@@TheGloryXros They didn't take into account him absorbing SSJG power output into base because they literally show in their explanation that SSJG Vegeta is 13x universe (which was how large they calculated the db universe to be compared to our own), rather than base Vegeta having that amount of output.
@@TheGloryXros Goku's base power was only a bit more powerful than Vegeta in the Buu saga, it's just that Goku had an extra transformation. Once they both had access to God ki, that gap very quickly closed, and they were back to being equals even before Super Saiyan Blue was unlocked.

I find it Hilarious how much more they scaled thor when compared to the thor they used back in the Thor vs. Wonder Woman Fight. They either admitted they made a mistake, or were purposely downplaying Thor so Wonder Woman could win.
Knowing Death Battle probably the former, as this isn’t the only inconsistency. The speed scaling they gave to Thor, would also apply to World Breaker Hulk given how they scaled Thor to World Breaker Hulk in terms of strength. Meaning even if you use the calculation they gave for Broly and Hulk with strength, Hulk would be way too fast for Broly. Like this is the most jarring inconsistency here.
Nah I think what it is , is they talked to thor fans and got his most “op” feats but in actuality those feats they used were debunkable like the world engine feat and it containing infinite universes it’s been debunked
@@reflex9238 I think in general scaling Thor to Sentry was just a bad idea because it really doesn’t make much sense, although they probably did it so they didn’t have to use Thor with the Odinforce as that would have made this fight more unfair than it already was.

@Lee Brown Death Battles reason for why wonder woman won is because she was faster and her sword can slice through molecules, but according to this new thor, hes immune to bing attacked at the molecular level and his new speed scaling surpasses Wonder Womans. Idk who would win, but I do know that Thor was not done correct in that fight.

I'm a Dragon Ball Fanboy but as soon as Vegeta went Blue Evolution that soon in the fight, I knew it was over despite having 0 indepth knowledge of Thor prior.

i don't think people realize dbz characters have won a few times just we focus only on goku vs superman. I also like how they just skipped to blue and not him going SSJ3 from super dragon ball heroes and SSJ4 in GT like they did with goku vs superman.

The amount of rage in thors eyes is insane
It's amazing that however ridiculously powerful Marvel characters can be, DC's character's are almost always even more ridiculously powerful compared to them. Anime and video game characters definitely have trouble keeping up with the occasional exception.
Which is why I prefer marvel, more realistic. DC is borderline ridiculous.
the thing with comics is that they take all the possible versions whereas manga only have anime and manga version so it's actually more impressive on the manga side as they only need their main versions and not 500 different versions

There's nothing realistic about Thor, Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, etc. DC and Marvel do the exact same thing, it's Coke and Pepsi.

Thor is the star of his show/series/story, while Vegeta is the bridesmaid, the protagonist's rival and his second, God of Destruction power or not. Even without the math, this checks out. The math that they gave us just takes it further, not to mention the experience gap.

One thing I've learned is that anime lovers hate their characters losing to any1. Their characters r supposed to be undefeated against every1.

The main reason the MCU characters seem so weak compared to their comic book counterparts, is cause no one wants to expand to the proportions of comics and animated shows/movies for a live action movie/show. And budgets for live action movies, not to mention the costs of actors, pretty much drive any chance of comic proportions into the dirt. It’s just too pricey, and not every moment in a comic would be worth creating.
Comic Thor overpowered the scarlet witch with ease she only survived cause havoc protect her. Thor is a GOD in the comics

Just a few heads up for people so the new dragon ball film also known as dragon ball super : super hero should release around June or July but you guys don’t have to worry about the manga they said their keeping the manga stuff away from the film so no ultra ego, or any other manga aspects will be referenced in the film

Thor is so much stronger then Vegita its funny, Thor could even beat Goku and Superman if he wanted to, he is just that strong (he is a literal God in all meanings of the word), the MCU has shown only a tiny bit of his actual strength, because they need threats to be real, but if ever they showed Thor's true strength he would destroy anything in his way with ease.
