- Paul Hart took charge of a mid-table, Championship Nottingham Forest side that was going nowhere, and took them to the play-offs two years later. Despite the sale of some big names, and the departure of some big earners, he got his young side playing brilliant football. But less than a year later, he had left the City Ground. This is his story.

Those Paul Hart days were so special. That felt like Forest's golden generation and it was so sad that we missed out after that loss to Sheffield United

Loved Paul Hart, he would later go on to give my brother-in-law Tom his debut at Barnsley after leaving Forest Tom always speaks highly of him as a then young player, I've always said if I ever met Paul I'd love to ask him if he remembers Tom I'm sure he would

Forest fan from Leeds here. I was at the Leeds vs Man U FA Youth Cup Final as a 12 year old kid. I can still picture the Jamie Forrester overhead kick. Moved down to Nottingham for university and went to a lot of the youth games there with Jenas and Daws etc. The most memorable one being Craig Westcarr scoring an ?illegal? penalty rebound against Man U in the cup, straight back off the bar in the last minute. :)
The first team during his first couple of years were great fun to watch, having watched Platt's dross. I would love to hear him talk freely about the problems that happened afterwards. I certainly have my own opinions of the people above him during that time.

It’s clear that Doughty and Arthur screwed Harty that summer after the playoffs.
Credit to Harty for still keeping a lid on it after all these years.
Ironically, Doughty and Arthur did the same to Billy when he got us into a position of strength - to challenge.
Doughty and Arthur were both scared of promotion, and lacked the ambition and conviction to take that step up to the Prem.
I never forgave Doughty and Arthur for how they failed to back Harty, they instead broke up the team and sold our Crown Jewels. Utterly short sighted decisions making by the ownership at that time, and then they did the same thing again to Billy 6 or 7 years later - after so many terrible seasons down in league 1 in between Harty and Billy.
Really enjoyed this video.

This was the “golden era” Forest team for me growing up. Loved Harty’s team. Still got the Radio Nottingham sticker you used to dish out too!

Great interview again chippers and what a great coach and manager Paul Harte is and not a bad player either👍. It was a Shame he wasn’t allowed to follow through on the 3rd season with the team he built but that’s club politics for you.
