Thanks for bringing Mr. Shrestha. I am surprised to hear Hadas are Lichavis because I am a Hada. Here’s are my comments:
    1. We Hadas have always thought we are migrants from Rajasthan during the Malla period 500 years ago. It’s a surprise to hear from someone, we are Lichavis, maybe we are, let’s take a look.
    a. We have our Kul Devata at our Aagan Guthi right around Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Nobody knows when the Kul Devata idol “Murti” was made neither from where it originated. I’ve seen the idol statue many times but have never paid attention to it. Now, I want to pay attention. The best way to determine if the Hades are really Lichavis is to examine the Kul Devata idol statue. If the archaeological findings show the idol is around 500 years old or that the art does not resemble Lichavi period then Hadas are not Lichavis; we are from the Malla period or that we are migrants from Rajasthan. If the findings show the art of the idol matches Lichavis period and that it’s 1000 years old then we could be the Lichavis. The problem is our Hada clan does not allow any outsiders to view or even take a glimpse of the idol. If requests can be made by historians to examine the idol, I’m sure something can be done. Historians have examined all idols in Kathmandu, but this is one idol no one has examined. We Hadas have no clue when or where it came from.
    b. People from the Lichavi period were mainly hybrid of Buddhism and Hinduism and some totally Buddhist. Migrants during Malla period were totally Hindus: vaidyas, Maskeys, rajbhandarys, etc. Based on my observation of the Hada rituals at our Guthi, the rituals are 100% Hindus. There’s absolute no influence of Buddhism. If Hadas were Lichavis I would say there should have been elements of Some Buddhist influence just like other Newars from Lichavi era. I’m an engineer. Please contact me if I can be of some help in pursuing this research for the guest. I live in the US but I still have affiliation with our Guthi Aagan.
    2. Why did Mr. Shrestha have to apologize for stating all migrants to Kathmandu Valley became Newars during ancient period. This is a fact. Kathmandu was a melting pot, just like what US is today. Facts need to be stated without apology. Stating facts is not being “Sampradayik” or communal.
    3. Above al this Thakuri narrative is so misconceived that media needs to clarify and educate the public. People think it’s the Khas Thakuri Bhansa that built the Bihars and the wonderful arts and craft during 900 AD till 1200 AD in Kathmandu. This whole lopsided understanding of The translated Khas word Thakuri from the word Thaku from Newari and Thakur needs to be made understood. Historians are using the word Thakuri carelessly which misleads people. Please use the correct word “Thaku”.

Hada Lichhavi hudai hoinan, they are not Lichhavi descendants. Dr. saab is wrong here and he himself said it is just his speculation and theory. Hadas are found in India and they are Agnivanshi Rajputs. Gopalrajvamshawali states there were Hada Chauhans that came during Hari Simha Dev and present Hada-Bijukchhes are their descendants.
Lichhavi descendants are found among Kisi Shresthas of Patan where in Saptami they take out Maneshwari, kuldevi of Lichhavi in a jatra. Many Lichhavi must have been assimilated within Jyapus too but most Chathariya Shresthas don’t claim to be Lichhavi descent. The dynasty after Lichhavi were Vaishya Thakuris whose descendants are Thakul Shresthas. Chathariyas didn’t marry them traditionally believing them as Thakuris but Vaishya and not as Kshatriyas like them.

@@cheltooktribefreethinker1028 are you stupid? I just said it was written in the book. Gopalrajvamshawali is regarded as a crucial piece of history and evidence in Nepali history. I have relatives who are Bhaktapur’s Hada who themselves say they are descendants of Chauhan Rajputs and not Lichchavis. When they themselves are saying, who are we to decide otherwise for them? Also Dr. Shrestha himself clearly says here it is just his speculation and he doesn’t have enough evidence for his claim. I am basing this on my knowledge and research and not speaking from my ass like you are doing.
