Hey, Thanks for this nice Kumihimo video. I'm waiting my disk.. But how did you do your Peacock bracelet? It is gorgeous! I would like to learn to do that too!!

I didn’t have Fray Away glue and I really wanted to try my hand at a beaded kumihimo bracelet. So as a crafter with about 20 different kinds of glue, I chose a couple types to try to keep the fray away. What dried clear and stiff and worked perfectly was Aleene’s Clear Gel Tacky Glue. It’s inexpensive and available at craft stores and Walmart. Thanks for a great technique video. It’s clear and easy to understand.
Rose, I am just watching your video so it has been many years since you posted this. I want to thank you so much because even though I have been making Kumihimo bracelets and necklaces for several years I learned so many things from this video that I have been doing the hard way. Hope all is well and I will check further for other videos you may have posted.
I’ve watched several videos as I want to start making these. Your explanation of placement of bead in the quadrant is the clearest I’ve seen. I zoomed in on that part to see better. Thank you very much for this video!

This was such a wonderfully clear and instructive video. I practiced the tutorial with embroidery floss and some small seed beads and it came out really nice! I look forward to actually creating the full bracelet from cord with larger seed beads and practicing adding the clasps! This is such a meditative style of weaving and has some lovely results without being incredibly complicated.

Beautiful bracelet. I love the colors. It's been a while since I did my beadwork. It's way past time I put an order into Fire Mountain. It's been ages, it seems. Thank you for the inspiration.
It's intriguing to see you rotate your disk the opposite way to most Kumihimo demonstrators. Nothing wrong with that, except that I would tend to follow by rotating my disk in the anti clockwise direction so that I'm working to my right (my being right handed) but I suppose the end result is basically the same except for the opposite spin on the spiral.
You're welcome and thanks for watching! Can we ask because we always like to get feedback from our viewers - what was it about the way Rose taught this technique that you liked so well?
Glad to learn about Fray Lock, but -- I would question using your fingers to apply it. The skin absorbs whatever is on it, and I doubt the chemicals in FrayLock are something you would want in your blookstream.

Through out this tutorial I was just looking at your peacock bracelet 😁..... its beautiful....May I please know how you made that and what beads you used.....I would really appreciate it. ...did you do herringbone stitch?
Thank you for the tutorial of this beautiful bracelet. What is the order to place the cords around the Kumihimo since color of the beads on each cord is slightly different? Let's say I start with Cord #1 at the position between #31 and #32, where does cord #2 go - between #32 and #1 (and then continue in a clockwise fashion) or do I place cord #2 across the disk to go between #15 and #16 or between #17 and #16? This is my first Kumihimo project. Thank you,

Rose, I love your tutuorials AND I love how simply you explain every step! I'm new to making jewelry and kumihimo as well, and am enjoying learning these from you! ONE QUESTION: How do you know what size and thickness of jump rings to use on a project? Thanks in advance!
Hi Cindy. We're glad you enjoy watching Rose and her tutorials. The size of jump ring is really personal preference. One thing to be sure of though is that what the jump ring is fitting into is smaller than the inside diameter of your jump ring. We list the inside diameter of the jump rings we carry on our website so that's always easy to reference.
Thank you for another wonderful video! Would it be possible for an explainer on different beads and uses and the sizing system? Very confused and keep buying too smaller beads for kumihimo 😔😮
Hi there. Kumihimo is the technique. You'll want to be sure to use beads that whatever size cording you're using will go through. We've got some other really good resources on kumihimo and here's a link to them! bit.ly/2H5Zhcg
I hope you are still seeing comments.....the tutorial is great. I have tried numerous times in the past day to get the beads to drop into the "quadrant" and they seem to go everywhere other than the quadrant. Could it be the tension is too tight. I keep watching and I still cant see how it drops and goes under. Any helpful hints, tips or trick.
Hi Jackie - we have a number of resources on Kumihimo that might help with this issue and creating your Kumihimo braids here bit.ly/3QWcw1G. Thanks for watching!
Hi Rose thanks for a very informative video. I have learned a few new tricks. Love doing Kumihimo too. Really love the peacock bracelet too - looks a bit like pyote stitch to me. Do you have a pattern for that??? Thanks again for a great video. Di

I noticed on the one you showed the making of, there were a few places the thread showed through, space between the beads in the center. How do you keep that from happening? Or what caused that to happen? Thanks. I used to bead years and years ago. I have some old beautiful beads id like to use for this and charms from the 50's. I would like it to come out correct the first time ;) Also, can i do this same pattern using beading thread and the tiny delica cut beads? I have several small packets of them in great colors, love that shine!
Thank you for sharing! I was just thinking about better ways of ending a Kumihimo and your way is by far the best I’ve seen, so thank you thank you!!! So does way of ending hold up the ends together fairly secure? And how about when you use a magnetic clasp? Last think, I love that peacock pattern bracelet you have on, pattern available?
Hi Joselyn. This method holds up very well if the bracelet is taken care of both on and off. We've asked Rose about her bracelet she was wearing and there's no pattern. She just made it as she went and it turned out that way.
As a beginner at doing kumihimo, I love these beginner videos. I would love to make this bracelet and went to the link in the description for a list of all the materials. Alas, that page is no longer available. So I will attempt to just make a list as I'm watching the video. This is the second time I've tried accessing the materials list for one of Fire Mountain's projects only to discover the page is no longer available. Can someone please check the links to be sure they point to an existing page? Thanks for the great ideas and directions.
Hi Cynthia. We're sorry you can't access the link in the description for the materials list. It and the other links seem to be working fine. Here's another link that will get you to that materials list: www.firemountaingems.com/resources/gallery-of-designs/j72f
Que belleza,me encantó este trabajo,,como puedo encontrar los dibujos los patrones en internet,,💝How beautiful, I loved this work, how can I find the drawings and patterns on the internet
Beautiful bracelet 📿😊👍🏻 I am definitely going to try this! Can I use small round seed beads for this (they are approximately half the size of the beads that you are using in this video)? Btw. I too am a 2-jump-rings kind of person 😊 Better safe than sorry.
Hi Fritz. You can use any size beads but just make sure that the cord you are using will fit through the bead holes. Typically the smaller the bead, the smaller the hole size so you'd want to adjust the size of your cord accordingly.

Love the colors on used for this bracelet. Are you using 2 mm cord?
In this video, Rose is using 1mm imitation silk cord. Here is the link to the cord: www.firemountaingems.com/1925BS.html
These are so beautiful
Shouldn't it be centered before braiding?beautiful work!
It can be and thank you!
Guess what!? We just finished a video on that peacock Bracelet. Stay tuned!😀
BUENA TARDE, GRACIAS POR SU EXPLICACION, MAGNIFICA Y MUY CLARA. BENDICIONES.
Where do you get your beads and pendants and charms from all the stuff you use and beating they’re so pretty

Bellisimo, grazie ☘️🌺👍❤️
beautiful
What millimeter cord are you using?
Hello! The cord used in this project is 1mm. Thank you for watching!
Beautiful bracelet 📿😊👍🏻
I am definitely going to try this!

Thank you so much for answering me 😊👍🏻😊
I have thin bead weaving cord... I will try with that 😊
