- happy april fools day everyone, its been a while since i uploaded a big project but i'm happy to report it's finally finished.. here's what i've been working on for the past few months!! an unofficial undertale fangame where you fight the coolest bird in the world. the whole fight is playable, if you'd rather play it first before watching the video you can play it in-browser or download it on windows here bobacupcake.itch.io/vs-really...

Its more visually interesting than mechanically interesting, mechanically its just blue heart with purple heart. I think the way they made iti look is reallt cool though

The line "Your sins have abandoned you in self-preservation" is one of the hardest lines. Right up there with the mushroom saying "You can not kill me in a way that matters".

This is actually legendary. The attacks are so creative to an extent that the world hasn't seen before. The amount of detail for this meme game is absurd. How did you even make the final attack?
It is very fair, and explores every concept the exact right amount and does not have any annoying or boring attacks. The damage dealt is fairly low, which allows the attacks to go absolutely insane. The story is exactly what it needs to be and no more. This is unironically perfect. This might be the best Undertale fan-game I've ever played, actually. I'm not joking.

This was absolutely cool as hell. The sheer variety of mechanics had me rolling, and the one glitch I found where dying enough times would just leave your previous heart's death position on screen just added to that experience.
I look forward to whatever the fuck this bird comes back as in 2 years as well

This fangame is cool as frick! I loved the Rail Heart mechanic. Although my, computer started lagging at the end, making it so I'm unfortunately unable to finish the fangame, but the visuals at the end are, as one would say, really cool!
Honestly, thank you Rob. Without your original Theme of Really Cool Bird, I'd probably be missing a part of myself I have now. I didn't necessarily have a defined person outside of "random = funny." After making my pfp RCB for a while, it eventually acclimated itself to my main personal branding online. It even got me interested in Birds as creatures and Ornithology as a science.
I haven't missed a single theme of yours, and I don't plan on stopping.

It was on the browser version on the first attack with the 3d camera angle. It kept lagging until the final attack where I died on the loop-de-loop and gave up.

The animations are wonderful. Squash and stretch were really good for the landing of the grinding soul colour (even if it's just blue with fast falling until the 3D section)
Loved the references as well.

after having completed the fight myself, i can say that it was a really fun fight
ive done a lot of undertale fan fights that ive given up on because i get stuck at one part for way too long for it to feel satisfying, but with this one, none of the attacks felt impossible, and i could usually get them down in one or two attempts

This is one of the best piece of Undertale fan media I've ever seen. The rail grinding, the dialogue, the 4th wall breaks, the jokes, the 3D sections. The final attack is a bangin' culmination of everything before and the music, it's just a good remix but the chanting, the music box rendition, every single thing is perfect, absolutely cool!
(I also liked how the music synced up with the attacks at 7:45, that was neat.)
I just watched the original again as a nostalgia trip. Never expected THIS to be a follow-up. It's so unbelievably cool

Nice work! Very creative and impressive ideas are executed very well in this video! The music was good, and the mechanics were creative! I especially loved the perspective change! This is great. I can only hope we get similar mechanics and ideas in Deltarune.

Edit: I managed to finish the game, really cool indeed. I found the sacrifice option on the ethical problem really cute and when i heard that the little birds tied to the rails make an among us tune when played in order I was truly astonished. You all should try it, the ending is really cute !

I thought this was an animation at first with how crazy it was, and i was in disbelief when it said “Thanks for playing”. However you did this, it’s amazing, and i hope someone gets merg to check this out so you can get more attention to this

This is genuinely amazing. Theme of Really Cool Bird had been something I'd bring up from time to time in friend groups and just listen to sometimes on my own as it's just really good, I cannot believe you took it to this level. This is SO COOL.

The theme was good, but then seeing the new soul ability was mind boggling to me. Then it turned into a god? then you have to jump on your action buttons to get to show mercy.
The thing that got me the most was the hug, I almost teared.
The squash and stretch of the soul after each flip makes the animation so much smoother.

Genuinely, what an incredible series of fight challenges. The skateboarding is super creative and the attack with the different colored arrows was so inspired. Absolutely awesome stuff.

there are just so many things i love about this fight!!! from the way the soul bounces whenever it lands on a rail to the sheer variety in attacks (i cackled at the advanced ethical dilemma, gasped at the follow-up attack, and actively said “what the fuuuuuck” when the rail perspective shifted) to how balanced the fight is to even the heartwarming ending… this is a masterclass in undertale fangames from start to finish and it’s criminal how underrated it is!!

It’s amazing!!! My lower jaw dropped to the floor. Especially quasi-3D attack! By the way, there is really small pause between the end of music and starting the loop. 3:18-3:19 you can hear it. It’s barely audible but it is.
