You know, this is more like a Humbug B-Side, it has that QOTSA vibe, but with the AM Style, such a banger.
They changed because EVERYTHING changes. They're in business for so many years, and their music has changed along with the ones who play it. And in my opinion: they are getting even greater. Arctic is awesome, because even when they change, it still being itself. Like, you can see Alex and the band in the songs. That's something rare.

Create a playlist and swap it directly for I Want It All, it fits in perfectly, similar pacing just vastly superior. Adding You're So Dark after Knee Socks also works great, and swap Stop the World for Mad Sounds. This equals a much better flowing album imo, still their worst mind..

In so many areas concerning the creation of songs, Turner flat out trumps White. This disparity is most blatant in their lyrics, Turner may be the greatest lyricist of all time-regardless of genre. But not just in the lyrical realm is Turner superior, he has a much sounder grasp of melody, a complete encompassment of myriad song genres. He's written classics in a variety of genres: Post-Punk, Pop-Rock, Stoner Rock, BritPop, Classic Rock, Folk-tinged, etc. by and large, Turner is this generations consulate songwriter. In the simplest terms, he's a Genius.

With that in mind, I would say Alex Turner writes much rounder melodies than Jack White--with Turner being a student of the great melodist Noel Gallagher. Turner's back catalogue is by far more diverse/eclectic than Whites, imo. He's written so many good songs, and is a criminally underrated Lead Guitarist and composer, though White does edge him out by a healthy snuff in this category. But, in the end, it's what does you in personally. Have a good one la. Cheers.

We could've had the style 'Suck it and See' initially leaned into (more upbeat along the lines of Humbug). Yet, we got AM instead.
Now it's not that AM is outright terrible, just incredibly disappointing.
This and 'R U Mine' express what could've been.
