- The claw machine at my local arcade was showing a weird error on the programming unit that the claw was too hard to win and I found a funny reason why!

That controller was definitely talking about the general win rate that was set. You know that's a shady arcade when that's happening.

Yeah alot of the ledge claw machines now have a guaranteed win after like 10 dollars or more depending on how good the prize is. As it should be

It effectively killed the arcade machine business here because the fines came alongside a gambling permit withdrawal

The cranes used to be fair for the most part but now they’re all rigged. It’s not saying “too hard to win” because the claws broken, that’s ridiculous. It’s saying that because the amount of wins to the amount of plays is not good. Adjust the tension on the claw scumbag
Matt that intelli programmer is for the left side of the claw. The right claw that is broken has its own separate programmer. The prize sensor could be broken on the left side giving you that Error. It could also need the pick up power and retaining power adjusted
I work at an arcade and yes we also have an E-Claw thanks to Elaut before I started working there we didn’t have anybody really taking care of the machines. We also have Elauts Wizard of oz and Willy Wonka coin pushers 6 player edition.
You didn't notice the claw BEFORE you opened it up??? The machine isn't the only thing defective

It's just the clip. Although probably need to readjust the main weight, recalibrate the prizes, and bam done.

Claw was missing the string that’s used to reel it up people were probably playing it with it disconnected for a while causing the error
The black coil on it is just the power cord to close the claw itself not move it up and down

Matt, take really good care of E claw. Elaut does NOT provide excellent service, they only supply parts for games but no IT Services or maintenance guides.
Elaut provides great service... I have no idea why you would think otherwise. When I call them they always help out great.
