Hershel is too soft for this world He spent too much time cooped up at the farm while Carl was out surviving. The kid was told to drop the weapon, but instead of dropping it he started looking around to survey the situation and figure out how he could get the upper-hand.
The kid was handing the gun over, slowly, he wasn't going to shoot. This situation is the beginning of the whole story up to season 9. Maybe they didn't make it obvious enough.... what was happening there.... but Carl WANTED to kill that kid, that is the point.

This time, your friend is right. Hershel has no experience and no judgement in this situation. Just like in Nebraska scene in the bar, he is helpless. Carl, just like his father, read the situation correctly and quickly, and made a decision which had to be made in split second. The problem is Carl is becoming too cold. That's what Hershel and RIck are right about.
Carl wanted to be part of the action, I reckon even if the kid had dropped the gun Carl would of shot him….he was to young to have experienced life like the adults and taking a life is a terrible thing even for an adult to do but for a young boy he didn’t know what it meant. He had no empathy, giving him a gun to protect himself from walkers is one thing but he needed to be reminded he is a stupid little kid and the gun should of been taking from him in the prison because he is fixated by it. Hersel should of been the one with the gun protecting them, he probably has more experience considering he lived on a farm. This part of the episode annoyed me.

That's easily one of the most impactful and WORST deaths. I simply just hate the Governor, even as an antagonist I hate him because he really is so irrational, killing people for no reason and half the time his decisions are absolute ass. No way his people would've backed him up as long as they did, ever since the Michonne vs Governor fight where she cut his eye out he had no qualities anymore that would justify him staying the leader, hell even though I „hated“ Andrea as much as you guys she was even more of a leader than he was during that time while he was locking himself in his room crumbling, cooking up his bullshit plan. Under normal circumstances they definitely would've overthrown his ass If not back then, definitely when he requested to have 13 year olds hold a gun and fight for the prison that would not benefit us in any way shape or form anyways since Woodbury was already thriving.
The governor in the comics is easy top 2 villains they had to tone it down for live action.. the make him more like "lottso hugging bear 😂😂" from toy story. Guys you think hes sick here yous ain't ready for the comics... great reaction guys👊🤙
I read the comics, and although I agree that he was different there, I think the governor was a better and more memorable character in the show (He's definitely up there with Shane as one of the best villains on the TV show).

The Modern Norman I hope you see my comment, rip Andrea gone too soon, Laurie Holden who played Andrea said that Andrea was supposed to die in season 3, she signed a 8 year contract, in the comics Andra ens up being the leader of Woodbury and Andrea and Rick ends up a couple, it was all because of Glen Mazzara the writer of the show, he killed her off because of shock value, lucky he was fired after that, everyone was shocked and sad that she left, good Riddance Glen Mazzara Andrea was my favorite character, Laurie Holden was shocked and saddened to leave, all I am going that you are wrong for hating Andrea, she made right decision, sad to see her go even years later its sad, like the actress said it wasn’t supposed to happen, all because of one man, one last thing I hope you don’t hate the actress who played Andrea, because she did a good job playing her
Hated her since second 1.
All the folks in here dropping the subtle spoilers are really pissing me off. "iTs NoT a sPoiLeR" - that's because you've seen it. Just keep it to yourself. It's not cute, you're not adding to their experience, you're not dropping fire teasers. Gtfo
LETS GOOO
I’m finally early
Season 4 timeeeee
not the Dan Schneider joke 😂 and I already cannot wait for your reaction to you know who's death next season and how much you want the Gobvernor to die then, not gonna lie.
Gov with the W
Andrea pissed me off.
Parsing a kid for killing another kid who surrendered.. yeah not good point of view. I used to think the same the first time I watched it, but was a bit too much into the story without realizing that was unnecessary
Guys, turn on the subtitles please 😞

This is where I start to dislike Coral 🪸
Man Herschel is a snitch
I thought that too😂😂
Carl was right, the kid went there armed to kill, he eliminates a possible future threat.
Eh idk. It’s hard to say. He could have been a Tara.
Nah, I don't think he needed to die. Worse case scenario, you shoot him in the leg.
He didn’t want to go, dumbass
LETS GOO BOISSS🗿solid ass episode, one of my personal favs
