My 4 kids got lice at school. What an ordeal. Can’t imagine what it was dealing with 11 kids and two adults. Getting it doesn’t have anything to do with cleanliness those little bugs like all hair.
You got some wonderful finds at the thrift store. Those plates with the wheat on them I am so jealous of. Growing up my parents had fine China with the wheat design and it was made in 1961. I forget the name of the company, but it’s fine China. I was born in 1963. I have one teacup and a broken pitcher and I would love to have the whole set or more than I have now. Lol. Poor little sweet Drew. I really hope he gets to feeling a lot better. Looks like he’s on the mend.
Awe poor drew. When it rains it pours. Will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope things start to settle down for you. Have a blessed week friend.
Hang in there! And don’t let the stigma of lice affect you. It happens to all types of children and families. I’m sorry you had to go through that. The clean up is daunting, especially with so many children.
Use white vinegar on the hair lice it dissolves the glue that holds the eggs to the hair strands then use a fine tooth comb to remove the eggs a cheap way to do it and it works.
Oh Bless your heart. Maybe the bad stuff is over. No need to be embarrassed about the lice. It can happen to anyone. And I still remember how much work it is trying to wash and clean everything, many years ago. :)
Mismatched dishes make your table look very original and unique. I've been doing that and I love the way my table looks. My aunt used to collect a different china plate every time she went to the thrift/antique stores. Her table looked amazing..... We use salad plates instead of dinner plates.... you don't eat at much.. ha! If you buy older plates and compare the size of the older dinner plates to the newer plates now, there is a big difference in size.
Sorry things have been so hectic for you my mother always told me that things come in 3's and how right she was praying for a calmer week ahead for you. Love your new butter churn its adorable!!! Goodwill is also a great place to find Christmas dishes.
I have never felt so understood as a mama! 🤣 we have 6 kiddos (5 still at home) and it is CONSTANT chaos. Moreso lately. Our youngest caught Hand, Foot & Mouth at school, as soon as he was on the mend our 10 year old wrecked his bike and that required an ambulance ride, 14 hours in the ER (between 2 different hospitals) and 73 stitches, the. Our street flooded due sewer issues and totaled my husbands truck 🤦 one thing after another. I feel your pain mama.
@@FieldsFullHouse It has to be over but I'm afraid to say "it can't get any worse" because then it usually does. I've learned to just laugh at it and roll with the punches. Sending many prayers and hugs to you as well mama. We got this ❤️
I'm so sorry sweet momma! Hang in there! I remember when my oldest was younger she got head lice from school. They loved her thick curly hair. It was so hard to get rid of.
That is too bad for Drew to have to go through so much. Just a tip, the less said about it all around the children the faster he will rebound back. Sometimes if we dwell on things too much it tells the brain things that keep us down. Seems like your life is always a whirlwind and too much going on. However, it was your choice to have so many children and to be involved in as much as you are. I really like your mix matched dishes. I agree that if one breaks you are not out much. Do you do garage sales? That is another good place to find dishes. I have found dishes that we use as cheap as 25 cents each for a mug, 25 cents each for a small plate and I got a set of 6 Corelle salad plates for $2.00. Keeping you all in my prayers. Hope your house situation comes together soon.
It is a whirl wind and I wouldn’t have it any other way! Yes it was our choice and we love our life and our kids! Not complaining just sharing what it’s like from a mom’s perspective!
I love the butter churn, it is adorable! Great finds at the thrift store! Sorry y'all have been through a lot lately. Praying for a peace and calmness going forward! ❤️
Yes lice do like clean hair....lol also let everyone at co-op know so they can all check their kids. I know it's embarrassing but I'm sure another child gave it to your kids. Also when putting the lice medicine in your hair make sure you don't wet your hair. Put it on fry hair. Good luck and I would rather have the flu vs lice..lol
After you shampoo the hair, add conditioner and leave on the hair, then comb through with fine tooth comb. The lice and nits will come out with each stroke. Then rinse the hair. When the hair is clear, do this once a week to check no more have snuck in. There is no stigma in the UK to head lice, most children and parents too get them. My two beautiful grandsons had them recently, no fuss, we got them clear. ❤❤
I've been dealing with lice with my granddaughter. I've heard a preventative is a couple drops of tea tree oil mixed in with shampoo . its worth a try.
Do you go to Dollar General? If not start going. A couple of weeks ago I got two white plates a quarter apiece and saucers quarter apiece they were ready to get rid of them. We’re checking when they’re changing from one season to the next. A quarter is a bargain.
My kids got lice when they was little . It freaked me out and I was so embarrassed. They went to a birthday party where everyone ended up with it. It is just something that happens .
Hello I love the jail. I need to find me a thrift store. Those little mugs u can use for desserts for the kids they probably would love that... Pudding or jello... ❤
Yep we’ve been thru head lice. My girls have long thick hair and used to get it when they were in elementary school. It was the worst but it happened to everyone we knew. Lice prefer clean hair They have a harder time sticking in greasy hair. I felt like it took forever to get rid of it! We homeschool now but my friend who works at that elementary school told me a few weeks ago that they aren’t allowed to send kids home with nits anymore. Only if there are live bugs. Sooooo she said they have lice problems very bad and sometimes have to fumigate the rooms overnight and weekends because it’s passing from kid to kid constantly. When we were there if they saw nits they were sent home to treat them but not anymore which is nuts to me!
Been there. My recommendation: lice comb their hair (after treatment) 10 times a day. You will eventually pull them all out. I went thru this again this summer. Pure torture. And shave anyone’s head who will let you.
Poor Drew and you. Sometimes things come at you and you think no more! You are doing great! Do you ever cry in the shower? I use to when I was younger with little ones. Not over one thing but just a release. I would feel so better
I absolutely love that butter turn how cute I love anything with cows for whatever reason I just love cows I hope everything settles down for you sweetheart you know they said God don't give us more than we can handle sometimes I think he likes to test us
Girl lice OMG I'm so sorry that has got to be the worst❤ those little buggers are so hard to get rid of but I would much rather deal with lice than other little bugs
We had head lice and my wife went crazy trying to get rid of them! The washer ran all of the time. They were being rejected at school and the old Quell shampoo was limited to 2 x's use. We had a small store run by a family and my wife was talking to the son about buying more detergent for our washer because of the head lice! The grandmother pulled her aside and she spoke Italian so her son said mom wants to give you some help for the head lice. She gave her a small comb (nit picker)! She said get an empty soup can and clean it out and fill it with vinegar. Put the vinegar on the stove in the can and warm it. Take everyone outside in the sun and keep dipping the comb in the vinegar and run it through the hair to kill all the nits(eggs)! We did what she said and we went through two cans of warmed vinegar! The nits were finally gone! Everyone's hair looked so good and we even did our dogs! They were allowed back in school and the nurse told everyone to try the warm vinegar! It really worked! After two weeks of washing everything several times the vinegar worked. It has to be combed through so the nits are released and they are the problem because they are hard to kill. We did the combing outside and washed all of the towels and clothes after the vinegar treatments. It was so bad that one of the schools had plastic bags for coats with their names on them! It is the worst feeling that you have something that is so hard to get rid of!
@@FieldsFullHouse I have a lot of white ones that are from my husbands grandmother. She had as lot. Plus I also have the butterfly gold. It might cost a bit to ship , but I could always bring them with me the next time I drive north to South Carolina or Georgia.
