- In June 2024, the Yankee Air Museum (now called Michigan Flight Museum) sold the Boeing Flying Fortress B-17G Yankee Lady to a secret buyer; they refused to say who it was, or where its new home would be. Some reports say it is going to New Zealand. The company hired to rebuild the bomber is based in New Zealand, but has restoration operations in California. On 20OCT2024, Yankee Lady touched down on Pocatello Regional Airport, in Idaho. On the night of 21OCT2024, I was informed the bomber had landed at the Redmond Municipal Airport, in Oregon.
• Short history Pocatell...
My Uncle flew on a B-17G as a radioman and gunner (Pretty Baby's Boys). Was part of the 463BG- the Swoose Group. God bless all those men who flew on her
It flew over my house Oct 19th just outside of Madison WI,getting ready to land at the airport to refuel.
