@@freedomloverusa3030 I never said the pen was not a smart idea. I was a very complex solution with a simple alternative. In the long run it sounds like a success for the reason mentioned above. Let's remember these are comments on a video about a flashlight.
If it had an IR LED instead of visible, it would be a cool ir illumination (and then only worth what they’re asking). This looks like something you’d see at Walmart for $27.99.
No pricing information whatsoever. Must be too expensive to list. If you have to call someone to get the price, you're just being set up for a sales call. Unacceptable.
@@WinterInTheForest Yeah, giant difference in price. The tech in this one is advanced - and very cool. If I thought I would really like it due to some combination of form, function, and specific applications, I could see putting out the money for it.
You want light " spill" for hunting. I tried a light with a very focused beam, and searching for animals with it was a pain in the arse... You want something with a nice bright hot spot with lots of spill, like the olight javalot pro for hunting.
I brought a small flashlight for £5 GBP here in the U.K. at a place called Lidls which is like a Walmart. Had it 9 years, has an adjustable beam and super bright and never let me down. Price isn’t a guarantee of getting something better. For the price of the touch shown I could stop my family from starving for a couple of weeks.
The Exude has the advantage of setting it down and traveling parallel to the light beam in order to sneak up on someone or something instead of staying behind it.
Sitting here looking at all of the responses. And just wondering if and how many of you people writing have ever used an "illuminator" like the one in this video. It's NOT just an expensive flash light, it is a purpose designed light, although it can be used in other applications. And if you have a purpose for using a light like this, it works. Otherwise don't make trash comments about something that you know nothing about. I have a similar light that I use to hunt at night and like it ! But then again, I am sure that I will get trashed for leaving this comment. I like your "Sensible Prepper" channel and your other channel also.
I personally wouldn't take nothing for my Olight Warrior Pro X. Seems I like the idea of CQB illumination, and seems the direct light would be exactly what you said about looking through a scope. I like my peripheral vision and my Eotech EXPS2. I guess it's all in one's preference. Cute but expensive toy tho......
if there was a way to combine the two on a weapon platform; you could zero the illuminator and have extreme detail on a target while the traditional flashlight illuminates your surroundings. Nighttime hunting is illegal here though, even having a spotlight/headlights on in certain situations, "Aiding poachers".
Red light does not travel as far as white lights. The idea is if you're in stealth mode, your less likely to be seen by someone else, since red light doesn't travel as far. Learned that from a sailor while touring a USN ship. I wondered why they had red lights on deck.
Love your vids and always "comment for the algorithm".. but with this vid, I don't get how this is more than just a cheap "zoomable" light with a little more power. They lost me as a customer with the now spill ledlenser style light. Ill keep my olight and fenix
It's interesting from a hunting perspective but only if used in conjunction with a more diffused light. It's a pity you can't change its mode from 'normal flashlight' to 'targeted flashlight' then you could use it to scan a field and then zoom in on a predator. As is you'd need a regular quality light as well as this. And once you have spent all that money why wouldn't you just use thermal?
Man, I've been a sucker for flashlights since getting my 5 D cell Radio Shack one in 1979. I like it, but $150 is a little steep considering I have many other weapons lights, flashlights, flood lights, spotlights lol. But that small spot thing is pretty freaking cool.
Pretty interesting technology but I honestly don't really see the benefit from it, at least from the examples. I think it might be beneficial working at long distances, like over 100 yards or something. I'd like to see farther distance tested. Also lol @ 0:27. Double fricking aught
My thoughts exactly, seems like a lot people didnt actually listen to what was being said. Granted i dont think it's a product i need but i'm also smart enough to realize that just because it doesn't apply to me doesn't mean it's a useless product like everyone seems to be claiming
I bought some cheap 9 dollar Chinese " zoomable" flashlight on Amazon for my kids 2 yrs ago and they do as good as job as this flashlight. And yes they still work. I personally don't like the super focus of the beam. While your looking at the raccoon in some distance tree top perfectly any thing ( bear) could walk right up to you because you don't see anything around you. Just worthless!
Idk, looks like an atmospheric light with the final lenses reversed to benefit the tint. And it is only 11,000 candela not a very strong thrower. I'd like to see it compared to a custom aspheric thrower from Vihn N. Might have a good beam but $200 for that thing is expensive imho. A $120 aspheric thrower won't spook things either and will throw over 500 or 600 meters with a tighter beam and not such a wide divergence. Only an LEP should cost 200 and then you have even harder to see light with even less divergence and more throw to output ratio, and even cleaner beam.
Has anybody here used 4Patriots Supply? Are they worth it? I watch all of their ads on videos for this channel. Not sure I have ever seen him outright endorse them aside from this. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Considering an investment into the quality of their product. 4 Patriot supply, my Patriot supply, it's all dehydrated soups oatmeals and other fluid type meals. The only downside is it takes a lot of water to rehydrate and cook it. If it's you only option it's better than going hungry.
Nice because it’s compact...sort of. Check out this light I recently got from Amazon www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089523Y7L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 At 200+ yards it throws a 8ft hard circle just like that one, and still has the ability to light up the area around that. This thing is great it has multiple functions.
Umm, so like a flashlight but less effective. Bad idea to hunt if you cant see anything but your target. So unless that focus makes it light up out to 1000 yards I say pointless, kinda cool, but pointless.
So just a more expensive zoom light, like Led Lenser, but worse actually... Comparing them with regular good flashlights you see there's no point or need in most of the use cases.
Not unique. I have some magnified, focussing lights by Duracell. Delivers light just like this. Got them from Costco years ago. Much cheaper and uses C cells.
they should have just made it a weapons only system. i want spill in a handheld. i want to see, before i step as well as where my feet are to begin with. if i spot light an animal, i dont want to lose it just because it side stepped out of the spot. no bueno. theres even better "porch lights" than this.

I can’t justified even carrying a flashlight that’s only good for 20 minutes of useable light. Short term useable light.
I like that you can drop a charged battery 🔋 in when you need it .

I would think so. The light puts out 1000 lumens. If the circle is small it'll look brighter, and vice versa, because the lumens are constant.
