If im not wrong, You can save some photos and videos by connecting your phone to your pc and copying the phone photos and/or videos from Downloads or DCIM folder. And then you'll reset and after the reset you'll transfer them back.
I don't know about Data App, it depends: If you have them connected to a Google account then maybe you'll install the app again and login to that account. :3

Hi, my s7+ tablet has is permanently locked like this from too many attempts. But no matter how many times I try, this process does not work. It will NOT go to recovery mode, download mode. This will reset your phone but form all my research and talking to Samsung. It’s the only thing they can do ffs. Just a tip, if you find it’s not taking you to the data reset screen ( screen with all the words) you need to press volume DOWN and power, as soon as the screen goes black then immediately press power and volume UP. Then you the volume button as an arrow to press what option you want and press the power button to select it! Hope this helps sorry about your data
