Not necessarily. Music is not inherently good or evil, and neither are most things. What makes something good or evil is how it's used. If the people making the music have an evil intention, their music is evil. And yes, music can be neither good nor evil, left to the listener to make of it what they will. I'd venture to say that this is the largest class of music there is, because likewise no music is inherently good.
Parents are usually right in the end. The good ones at least. But it’s something in the brain of young people that refuse to accept the learned truths of those who lived before them and experienced the exact same things they did.

Two of my children have studied music, write and perform music. They will never be famous in spite of their amazing talents. They have not sold their souls for fame. I pray they will never become famous.

What would be wrong for being well known for being good people, rather than how some people are well known for being terrible and evil etc. I have three of my own kids I pray that in they life they will be able to touch the heart of as many people in this world as possible, I want to Let my children be known and I feel like we as parents can use our children to spread the right information around, to continue to do the right things as we show them, and that will only lead to more children following after them. We aren’t children so we really can’t reach other children the way our children can, because they are children. I just wish them to be known for the right things, although mine must be much much younger than yours.

I used to love horror movies and death metal with savage lyrics, never thought anything of it, but now that I have cast off all the demonic opression in my life and follow the Lord, suddenly these things aren't just unappealing to me, they're disgusting. It's definitely true that what you consume slowly dictates what you're comfortable with/ accepting of.
I'm more scared of horror movies than to get a visit from a demonic being, that I can see, when I just wake up at night. Often I just turn my back on it and go back to sleep. Imagine how offended it makes it feel

Jesus is coming back for his people. None of us are worthy, it is because of grace and mercy we can go to heaven because of Jesus’ payment for our sins. The Bible says the wages of our sin is death. And thankfully Jesus paid our fine. My advice to you is to repent (acknowledge your sin and turn from it and turn to God), ask him for forgiveness and he will forgive and save you. And then he promises eternal life. Pretty great gift right? I’ve been in the faith 26 years. I’ve been through a lot of tribulation and trials and yet God has kept me to this day. I couldn’t imagine my walk without our God. Think about it like this, would you rather him be in the boat with you or outside of it? You’ve already tried it your way right? And I can tell, it’s not going that well. That’s how it should be though. Without God in our lives, we are just wasting time. Praise be to God that he loves us so much he would come down from heaven to offer all of us salvation. The question is, will you take him up on his offer?

Blessed evening!! When I was a teen, my Christian cousin would always tell me to stop listening to that devil music. I couldn't really understand what she meant then, but I do now. I refuse to listen to secular music or watch anything opposing Jesus Christ. I know what it does and it's not just entertainment. Repent, get saved, and serve God.

This is why I only listen to Christian music, classical, music without words or certain artists that don't talk about drugs or alcohol. There are some pop artists that talk about sexual things or it sounds like a fun song but it's about inappropriate topics for kids or anyone.

I grew up in a somewhat religious household. My dad always made sure we know who GOD and our lord and SAVIOR is . When I became a young adult I turned my back on god even though I was always a firm believer . Started doing drugs and acting like my favorite rappers . Slowly I lost myself more and more and life just became so dark . I was so alone and I remember walking and crying I broke down and begged god to help , close to 7 years later (30 years old). My life got better and better . I became motivated to get out of my situations and now I’m in my own place . I just had my first child 2 months ago that I didn’t think I could even have and I’m a new business owner for almost 1 year now and I devote my life to thanking god and trying to be a better man daily . I still have my slip ups that’s for sure and life is still hard but I’m thankful for all the good and bad god put me through . I realized now that everything was legit meant to make me who GOD wants me to be . I asked GOD for things and life got hectic sometimes but at the end god was giving me what I asked for and preparing me for it . GOD is Great!!

This isn’t the only time in history that people wept while artist played music and sang songs. When Elvis Presley started his rise, the Beatles, and many others had the power to do those things. Christian’s came out and tried to rebuke it but after no success and after years of those bands playing, you could find Elvis records in almost any home in America, and it wasn’t the youth that purchased them, it was the parents. I grew up in the eighties, AC/DC, Eagles, Kiss, etc, and now that I have a gift of discernment, it’s so obvious that music we listened to to nauseam affected our brains and was letting in demonic spirits and thoughts because I and so many of my friends went off the rails and I know that played a role. 28:13 has a phrase that is very interesting: "the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created." That is, he was created with tabrets and pipes built in him. What would this refer to? Tabrets (spelled taborets in modern English) are small drums like those used to beat out timing for a fife player. Pipes probably refer to tubes used to produce tones by blowing air through them, as in an organ. This shows us that the devil had the makings of percussion instruments and wind instruments built into his very being.

You just made me realize why I've been mostly unaffected by a lot of confusion, depression, and horribly sinful mistakes my siblings went through, even though we all were raised in a Christian family, and to this day, we all are professing Christians (it's refreshing to be able to quote scriptures, and you might get pushback, but you don't get hate from family).
My siblings accepted secular music, and as a Christian, I refused to, even as a child. Sometimes jingles from shows, commercials, or songs in passing would get stuck in my head, yes, but nothing nasty or depressing. I've avoided a lot of heartache. This decision from my youth may have actually been the difference.

You may notice a hint of sarcasm in my statement. I do believe when we start talking about art it is a slippery slope. It is almost a freedom of speech issue because it is it should be freedom of expression, however art can be malicious in content as well as speech. We should all do our best to preserve history and keep the pathways open for future growth.
I disagree! Maybe you don't understand the wording, but many of the old hymns are based on the Psalms and scripture. I turn 50 this July and have been exposed to the old timy Gospel songs and new age "Christian " and find more songs on K-Love that disturb the Holy Spirit. In fact many so called "Christian " music artists claim they're not Christian, such as Amy Grant. We all need a fresh outpouring of discernment in this day

That’s why stated there was sarcasm in the statement. Our history in our culture needs to be preserved. Meanwhile, we should keep in mind, when people lay up perspectives through art, they are showing us what they see. They are also telling us about what has happened or what is set to happen. I was raised in a Christian school, so I was in church six days a week for quite a while ,eight years.
And I’m still a Christian today. Thank you.
