Are you saying you dont want her to be able to provide for herself and that you have the means to care for her in her old age...or...you expect her to live a crummy life...make it make sense breh

Undergird and sneaky are definitely key words here. False theology can definitely sneak into messages with a lot of truth in them. Steven Curtis Chapman, in one of his songs, phrased it as “making theory out of facts until they’re all deceived.” Thanks for sharing!

You are absolutely right!! Very well said, too, I might add. When a pastor leads in wealth and prosperity, the congregation's example is more about this world and what they can have here; rather than the next life and what awaits them there. Even a pastor can become too joined to this world, which reveals itself in lifestyle rather than life itself.
Do you believe the "happy wife, happy life" phrase is also wrong? As men I feel we lead our wives into an eternal mindset; not a worldly mindset. We love them and provide for them, but we also must keep the context in our life that this world is not our home; we live unto a kingdom of another realm; so let's live Christ: "Love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength", and "Let's love others as we love ourselves."
I think, regarding wealth, the goal is 2 Corinthians 8:7-15 (vs. 15 being a quote from Exodus 16:18). Paul did not demand them to live this out; however, it was right that the whole congregation was willingly living to live this out. Faith has to grow into this mindsel.
God Bless you Isaac, and thanks for posting this.

Christianity is the gateway drug to Prosperity Gospel. If you think you're above it, don't. It's a fine line between accepting "free" help and becoming emotionally indebted. The ideals I was brought up to believe was like secret kindnesses, never trying to grasp glory, just doing nice things for others as quietly as possible. As I watched my parents descend into Prosperity Gospel, I noticed the kindness was only doled out in church and among other Christians. It's no longer about helping the community, but rather only for Christians "in fellowship." This extends to business networking AT CHURCH along with political "articles" (aka ads) in their newsletters to support Christian candidates. They are still tax exempt somehow. The more I've seen, the less I want to see. I've become an atheist since seeing how belief can switch so easily depending on what believers wanna hear.

I'm still waiting for scriptural authority from the accusers of the charismatic movement. Seems to work for me alright. All they have is a fear that people will begin to see that the "charismatics" are living out the book of Acts and lo and behold what will happen, their pews will be emptied of the religious sheep who will start reading the word and believing it for themselves. I will know a tree by it's fruit. The blasphemy from the so called "conservative" "orthodox" Christians is so ridiculous and deceitful, where they will say "What would Jesus do?" and then proceed to put money into the blind beggars bowl instead of saying, "Be healed." I am personally fed up of the inconsistency between the word of God and the "mainline" denominations, if anything they are a sham.

+Caleb Standen Prosperity Gospel and Charismatic are not the same thing. This video is against the Prosperity Gospel. Charismatics are not Prosperity Gospel. Prosperity Gospel teaches that "if you give me money, God will bless you." Try telling that to some poor tribes in Africa. The few places that did work, some African people lost everything they had, because they gave it to the millionaire preacher who flew back home on his private jet, because he does not want to fly on public airliners, because public airliners are "full of demons, or full of demon possessed people." There was a woman who died of cancer, because she genuinely believed that if she gave all of her life's savings to one of these Prosperity Gospel preachers, she would be healed, because they told her that. So she gave her all the money she could have used to get hospital treatment to these people, and she did not have anything left, and she still died of cancer. The Bible does not say that we will gain material wealth when we become Christians. It says we will gain SPIRITUAL wealth in Heaven. SPIRITUAL TREASURES. If the Prosperity Gospel is true, than why did Paul, and all of the Apostles of Jesus, and early Church Fathers get persecuted and killed for their faith? Paul, the best of all of us Christians, who wrote over half of the New Testament definitely had strong powerful faith in Jesus Christ. Yet, his life was full of prison sentences simply for being a Christian, ship wrecks, persecution, etc, and he got beheaded. Where was his mansion? Why did he not have a lot of money if the Prosperity Gospel is true? If anyone deserved a castle, it'd be Paul.
Even Apostle John, the writer of the Book of Revelation was exiled on the Isle of Patmos. He was not enjoying a luxurious life of exile, eating exotic fruit either. He was in a labor camp.

      @FunInJamaicaDOTNET 3 роки тому

@@valeriouscatastros8717 okay, so question, since you seemed to have it figured out. You referred to Paul so let's continue on his teachings. "Have you shed blood since you believed?" Have you been shipwrecked, imprisoned, whipped, on the run, persecuted, prosecuted, beaten? I seem to highly doubt that. I mean, who in this current era in the western hemisphere, whether they believe what you believe or in the inverse is suffering to this degree? I mean, if the suffered that way, then we should to right? I'm sure that's the point you were trying to prove. In the end, it would seem as if God's blessings should stop from being financial as according to you. As if, Christians should strive to be poor or maintain their poverty so they can be 'rich in faith' right?

    • @valeriouscatastros8717
      @valeriouscatastros8717 3 роки тому

@@FunInJamaicaDOTNET That is certainly not what I meant. God will bless you financially, but not necessarily "give me money, and God will bless you." Believe it or not I have given a 1,000 dollar "seed" before to a very big international ministry (this year actually) but God does not always bless you financially (In my case he did, but he's not required or obligated to). Prosperity Gospel says you will be blessed financially, or cured of any ailment or disease. Not necessarily. It is not witchcraft. You cannot force your will on God. Perhaps you can force your will on demons or lesser spirits/angels using the power of the Holy Ghost (all power is given unto you over the Kingdom of Darkness, and Hosts of Heaven) but not God himself.
That's something not a lot of Christians get nowadays. People need to start listening to people like John Ramerez instead of Joel Osteen. Engage in spiritual warfare, fight in the spirit, pray in the spirit, etc. Not worry about materialism, or material wealth. Prosperity Gospel is all about material wealth.
Again, it is horrible the Apostles got persecuted and killed. I am just saying, if anyone deserved a fancy mansion or castle from the "Prosperity Gospel" if it was a true Doctrine would be Paul, Peter, James, John, etc. What happened to Job and Joseph in Egypt is not a 100% guarantee for everyone. King Solomon made a sacrifice unto the Lord of 1,000 burnt offerings and was blessed with great wisdom. Smartest human to ever live, besides Jesus of course. No mortal human king, president, or Prime Minister will ever be as wise, smart, or great as Solomon. So don't think for one second, that *YOU* of all people is going to get the same blessings that King Solomon gets just because a "Prosperity Preacher" told you so. Like we can force God to do what we want...pfft. God is not some lesser deity, or demon that can be commanded like a slave, like how Solomon could command demons, or how some past great Missionaries, Popes, Apostles, Saints, and Pastors could command entities in the spirit world like servants, and maids.
You want a romantic relationship? Ask God, and pray for it. But you cannot force him. If he don't answer? Go command Asmodeus to do it. Demon Prince of Hell who is in charge of, and is the "god" of lust, adultery, testosterone and masculinity. You need a job? Ask God, and pray for it, then put in applications. Still getting no calls? Time to use that power that the Holy Spirit has given you to command the Angelic Hosts of Heaven/Army of Heaven, and Demons of Hell to give you what you want. But *GOD* is on the *THRONE,* and he will not bow to anyone beneath him. He, and he alone is to be worshipped. You can ask him for stuff...sure, and sometimes he will bless you, and give you what you ask for...but you cannot force him, he's God. *You are not.*
So can God bless you financially if you give financially to the church? Absolutely! He did it to me! But he is not *required* to do so by any means, and cannot be forced. God has paid his debt already by sending his Son to die on the Cross for our Sins. He did his part. Now he wants us to do our part. His part of the debt is paid. Ours is not. When Jesus died on the cross he said "It is finished." Then he rose three days later. He fulfilled his part already.

@@valeriouscatastros8717 seed time and harvest is not just a Christian principle. It's a principle of life. Read Genesis 8:22. What you sow, that shall you also reap. It applies to the just and the unjust. Sow hard work, reap success. You sow a seed you reap a harvest. It has nothing to do with forcing God to do anything. He has given us the principle of seedtime and harvest from life began. So I'm truly at a loss for words at your reply. Jesus even goes as far as saying that if you sow sparingly you shall reap sparingly. If you sow bountifully then by this same measure you shall reap. In terms of the reaping aspect, you may jolly well be right that this may not be limited to financial blessings, but I guarantee that it doesn't exclude it either. My opinion is that our seeds (be it money, time, resources, prayer and all) produce a harvest as God diversifies our investment and gives us returns in the form of health, healing, deliverance, favor, short-term, long-term miracles and riches stored up in heaven. We don't dictate how we reap, but it is a principle that we WILL!
Lastly, Malachi 3:10, "'Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it."' What does that sound like to you? Jesus, himself, says that God loves a cheerful giver. Paul, writes in Hebrews that those that seek the Lord diligently must believe that God is a rewarder. So please, stop this nonsense and trust in Him unwaveringly and let us stop arguing about things that are clearly and carefully documented in His Word.

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver”
While I understand you’re exaggeration, and I’m not saying those churches are always right in how they phrase it, but God does in fact bless a cheerful giver. And people who can afford “$1000” offerings and gives that much yet also is happy to give will reap the benefits from God. I’ve even expedited this in my own life. The devil fuels the desires of our flesh when he tempts us, his purpose is to cut us off of God. Those fleshly desires are not always obvious, such as money and fame, It could be a "noble" desire like to defeat sin. When we want to do it all by ourselves of course it is not noble either.
Remember when Jesus went to the wilderness to be tempted by the devil?
Well so did I. Shortly after I became a Christian.
When I was burdened and got extremely hungry for power over sin,
the devil said: if you are a child of God command your sins, burdens, and bondages to go away in Jesus' name.
I said: power over sin alone does not make me alive, but it is written if I do my Father's will, I will live.
Then the devil said: it is written that you are a saint. Now deepen this knowledge and live accordingly!
I said it is also written that in me (that is in my flesh) there is no good thing.
Then he said: if you follow my methods you will be exceedingly free and never have to worry about sin again.
I said it is written you should worship the Lord your God, and HIM ONLY you should serve.
    ....
    Just kidding!!!
Unfortunately I did not give those answers. Instead I let myself be deceived by the lies of the prosperity gospel for a long time.

Ask yourself this: was Jesus "prosperous?"
As Christians, collectively, united within our denominational diversity, we are the "Catholic," as the Church as Universal. I'm not referring to the Roman Catholic Church, I am affirming that where "two or three of you gather in My Name (Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior), there I Am present."
The wealthy, young man who was "closer to The Kingdom of God than he knew;" well, sadly for himself decided that he would not sacrifice his economic affluent "Prosperity."
Affluence, or health and wealth, literally kept this man from potentially walking with and following God as Man, and we'll never know, perhaps even becoming an Apostle of The early Church directly established by Christ's mandate. This so-called "gospel of prosperity" is a serious departure from authentically Orthodox Christianity. It is both anathema and Heresy. This is to say that it is simply this: a fabrication and a lie which always originates with The Father of Lies: Satan. There is no rationalizing or condoning this patently false doctrine which is tantamount to being nothing short of Satanic and diametrically opposed the Evangel of Our Lord and Savior whose own words are Holy Scripture, as inerrant Scripture recorded in The New Testament of the Holy Bible.
Christ's teachings directly condemn and oppose this demonically inspired and blasphemous trend in American secular culture. Without a doubt it has nothing to do with Christ's Church or authentic Christian teaching, practice as Christian Discipleship.

I coudn´t agree more! Whenever I hear something of the prosperity gospel I automatically think of Jesus and the young rich man. And Jesus´words about the rich and the camel. I really wonder how people knowing the Gospel can believe the prosperity gospel teachers. They believe it because they want to believe it as it promises health and wealth and a paradisaic life.
And the worst effect of the prosperity gospel is that rich and healthy Christians look down on poor and sick Christians telling them that they do something wrong with God and that they have to have more faith.

Yes, those who continue to believe such false gospels as this one will undoubtedly end up dying and burning forever in Hell, unless they truly repent of their sins and put their complete trust in Jesus's perfect life, His death on the cross and His bodily resurrection for the forgiveness of their sins and their justification.
In fact, in what I consider the most convicting, sobering and terrifying passage in all of Scripture, which is found in Matthew 7, Jesus Himself declares that on Judgement day, many will say to Him, "Lord, Lord! NOT TRUE SIR, THE PROSPERITY GOSPEL IS NOT JESUS AND PLUS SOMETHING ELSE. After all, Jesus provided everything through his word for every need. The gospel is good news. And to the poor, it is they have been made rich by his poverty. To the sick healing is good news. To those in prison freedom is good news. He says, the blessings of Abraham have come upon the Gentiles. The more you hate the prosperity gospel the more you despise scripture promises like in the house of the righteous there are wealth and treasures. If only John did not say, I wish that you prosper, and be in good health, even as your soul prospers. Is it money or the love of money that is the root of all evil? Love not the world or the things in the world, what things, like cars, jewels, name brand clothing, etc yet how many of you who have two jackets or two pairs of shoes would give your brother or your sister one pair? Rightly Jesus said, if you going to judge the speck in your brother's eye, first remove the log out of your own eyes.
