Gotta love them 70 Dollar Belts! The One for my WH Tiller was a bit more than that, at least its an occasional use belt..and I'll probably never need another one! Great Job on the WH! Hope ya get the Carb issues sorted out. Spring is here, youll get the rest painted up soon
EXACTLY like starting mine. The mixture is critical. It is not ready to answer that throttle until it's ready! LOL.... I'm having exactly the same carb problems. Finally got it started last weekend and got the acre cut. Later took Gina out to show her and back to the erratic running, like the float is stuck or something.
Wheelhorse looking good. I know what you mean about that $70 belt, the deck belt on my Dixon is a 170 inch belt. I bought that mower at tsc and they don't have one. They said they could order me one. There is a Dixon dealer in Danville in the old IGA I was going to check out to see if they had one before either getting in on line or having tsc order it for me. Changed my oil last weekend and the knot heads put the oil drain right above the drive pulley. Oh well..
@ShnitzlHaus thanks , happy easter :) i will check with my mechanic buddy about it but hes usually pretty thorough, i think hes tried everything . im just gonna find new carb from you guys or ebay
Looking good 500! You make me feel bad. I got an old J-20 Ditch Witch trencher. its been sittin awhile. Since I've seen all the work you've done. Everytime I look at the old thing now I have to turn my head. lol
@CSAKvids i always go somewhere else if i can but its a odd size belt you cant get at tractor supply or anywhere . the measuring stick at tsc aint even long enough to measure it . lol same thing with the blades , nobody told me that when i bought it .
Andy, From the sound of the engine and black smoke at higher rpms, i would keep playing with the high speed adj. screw(on bottom of the carb). Also, try adjusting the H.S. adj screw first and then slowly back off the throttle. This will make it easier to adjust the idle mixture screw. If this fails, turn both screws in until they gently seat and turn them both out 1-11/2 turns. Oh yeah..... always split the difference on the adjustments. John
@jstrunck thanks john , randy has rebuilt it 3 times and he knows more about it than me for sure , so i pretty much knew it wasnt gonna run perfect in this vid , but she moved :) think it may be cheap clone carb , looking for new one
what we got going on,on this channel? :),that wheelhorse looks so nasty with those ag tires~i love it~~~~~~~~love the scorp in the cub, hey how come the seat broke and dont tell me week metal :) love the tune 500 awesome job on it all eeeeemmmmmmmm hmmmmmmmmmm
Yeah working on stuff is a lot of fun... Especially seeing it come to life after all of the blood, sweat, and beers that have gone into it! What is the engine model?
haha, yes! finally some wheel horse work! looks lie this one won't take that long! what is there left to do now? (I commented at the beginning of the video)
That wiring looks really good. Nice to see you;ve got your tractor trained well enough to walk itself! New decks are suck a pain to get off! But $70? Wow man! You should have just measured the length and got one from somewhere else. Is that your cutting your grass already?
@lobsterbox20 thanks buddy , stupid youtube made this video public when i didnt want it to be yet . i always let them get done processing first before i make em public :)
@dangeroustoys56 i have to buy my belt from toro. my belt is weird size , foot longer than anything at tsc . cant get blades there either , nobody mentioned that bullcrap when i bought it . lol
hey 500 happy easter!. for your carb problems, do you have any play in the throttle shaft? side to side. these kohler carbs tend to wear out in that area and cause air leaks. love the tractors Michael.
The Wheel Horse looks great moving! You have the perfect girl friend! Looks good all the time and is always ready for you! lol Was that song from your youth? lol Great stuff 500, all thumbs up!!!
Did this tractor come with the 6 speed transmission or did you take that out of another tractor? I thought all the round hood wheel horses just came with a 3 speed.
no hydraulics , but i bought a rebuilt engine block and then i scavenged parts off 3 other old engines , sometimes its cheaper to buy a whole parts tractor than it is to buy one part . but with a speedex that might be hard to do . id try ebay or forums buddy . good luck on the project :)
