Great video and did anyone laughed at that guy who just missed the train? That slam door unit that is just white is a good idea that all trains should be painted white that only has the companies logo on it and when the franchise is up it saves the downtime of repainting it its more likely just to peel off the old companys logo to replace it with the new one.
When Great British Railways take over they will all be repainted in National colours with just the company name placed on the side of the train. Like London Buses now.
Primarily the Brighton-Reading service, in addition to this there were also Brighton-Basingstoke services initially operated by class 421/423’s and later class 450’s; occasionally an 159 would operate a service to Exeter.
The unit was a Virgin Cross Country service, I can't remember where it went to but it ran for a few years. It arrived mid afternoon and returned about a hour later.
@@jackbarrowclough1739 Sorry I got it wrong, the 158's were borrowed and used on the service to Portsmouth and on to Cardiff I think. The picture that came up with your comment showed I Virgin Cross Country arriving at Brighton, it confused me. Sorry
Man I wish cross country ran back to Brighton. Those services were always full of passengers, shame they stopped running.

I think it’s better to have different liveries as the passengers can identify the trains easier
14 years later, it’s down to just two or three different classes of EMU electrostar 377/387 & class 700s that use Brighton.
Yeah the bml won’t be the same without the old trains
I knew south west trains went to Brighton until 2007, what destinations did they serve?
Paignton, Plymouth, Reading and Basingstoke I believe.
Does anyone know where to find that piano recording of ‘By The Seaside’ at the start? It sounds nice :)

Don't worry. I know it was FGW

@@agdenyer Cool. I knew FGW took some of the Transpennine 158s but I never thought VTXC did too

What is doing here a Voyager?
And SWT????
There used to be Virgin Cross Country services to Brighton. They ceased many years ago.
@@agdenyer They also used to operate services to and from Paddington in Peak Times using Old Virgin HSTs.
