I played a match against ChatGPT 4o. I had two rooks left, and it had a a king and a Bishop. It made the walk of shame until it was in the 8th rank, and it promoted it's king to a pawn. Genius.
Even just 3 pieces (with 2 bishop+1 knight / 2 knights + 1 bishop) is generally better than a queen for high elo players 2 bishops+ 2 knights are obviously better than a knight

I calculate the queen 8 points and a rook 4½ points. That is also more in line with that three minor peaces are better than a queen (3*3=9 points versus 8 points for a queen). And two minor pieces are better than a rook.
