@Axiom Steel it's like having a gnome that can warp reality next to a 2 meter super buff guy. Like, all it takes is one good kick. Besides, the icon is meant to fight the forces of humanity, not 1v1 even power matches. It's very obviously weaker in turms of muscle mass than the average titan and thus less durable, 2-3 normal Titans would prolly be able to take it down, not even mentioning the fact that bob's arm is almost as big as the icon

People who just want to play some damn videogames with his/her homies from other countries and talk some sht. IMO youtube and the internet may be the reason a WW3 never happens. I would love for id to be a little inspired by God of war´s boss fights, especially the Chronos one and the Valkyries (which is how I was expecting Samur to be)

Even if Bob wasn't there to safeguard the Sanctum, it would still be impossible for a demon to enter it because its technically a piece of Urdak, and no demon can step foot in Urdak or vice versa. (although idk if that's changed ever since the Icon broke the Holy Seal)
Cause The Father is allwise and can forsee anything, he knew that the holy seal would be broken. Thats why Maligog is there to guard the temple cuz now the demons can actually get there but as the Maligog is there too none would stand a chance lol

Once everything is done he stepped aside and then he was tasked to guard the mountains where the soul spheres are stored. and because it took so many years before someone succeed his trials he felt asleep ........ The Father was rather brilliant in retrospect. He put his spirit essence as well as the essence and soul of the Dark Lord in the same place inside hell and set a guardian to test worthy candidates. If it had JUST been the Father's essence, Maligog would have been assaulted countless times until it fell. The mountain would have been assailed by countless cacodemons and gargoyles until they reached the top and they would have taken it. However, with the Dark Lord up there, they have every reason NOT to do that. They want to protect their whispering master. Leaving the trial and Maligog intact are the best way to accomplish that, even if it means leaving the Father's energy wasting away up there too. The only motivation they'd have to go up there is to resurrect their dark lord, but even then they'd have to invade Heaven to actually accomplish that and demons can't go to heaven (until now that is). Also consider this. That also means that Maligog has been sitting there as a neutral party between demons and whoever else might show up for decillions of years. He looked tired. I'm pretty sure if a demon did manage to pass that trial, he'd have put the demon up there too, but again no demon would bother and no OTHER demon would just allow that to happen if they heard about the plan. It's a shame that the Father's soul ended up in VEGA. Maybe Hell would be a little different if the Father could have been whispering into the demon's ears along with the dark lord all that time.
Well the dark lord is perhaps the only being with that ability to whisper orders to the demons. Dark Lord is the title of the ruler of hell, and the Father definitly isn't.
I disagree with the assessment that the maligog fight would have been great. I think that it would be simply an IOS reskin it already happened. Itsl feels better story wise for Malibob to be ok with the death of either the father or the dark lord because in the end the doomslayer proved worthy to make the decision he must obey the laws laid forth (malibob)
I agree, realistically he is too large for a proper fight, he could simply slam his hand in doom slayers general area and squish him. Otherwise they would just end up doing a generic fight where you do damage to various areas of his body til he dies just like icon you mentioned.

I understand where you are coming from, But you misunderstood his purpose. He guarded the Orbs, but he was also tasked that if anyone passed the trials, he HAD to help them reach the orbs. From then on, the person could do whatever the fuck they wanted with the orbs. Malibob is there to stop people from forcing their way to the orbs. TL:DR. Malibob helped the slayer because he passed the trials, therefor Malibob wouldn't try to stop him.

Also no weapon could harm Maligog in DS's arsenal just cause of the sheer size. The Icon is WAY smaller so it is susceptible to weapons of DS

@Toxik Deth DS can defeat Maligog and its not vice versa, however he can lose a fight due to being put to sleep sleep if he gets under something like temple while Maligog would be sealed by the crucible, not killed. So as the slayer like when he was under the temple. All im saying is that slayer could still lose a fight and its very possible

TL:DR. Malibob helped the slayer because he passed the trials, therefor Malibob wouldn't try to stop him.
