For me who uses both unity and roblox studio I can admit that roblox Is easier but you can't make games out of roblox putting a heap of limitations. That's why unity is kinda better
You think that's bad? The Doom engine was used to create a fanmade Sonic game, Sonic Robo Blast 2, which itself got a _Persona 3 gameplay_ mod. It got forced into 3D Sonic and then from there into Persona 3. John Carmack's code is like water.

@unkn0wn Not really, actually. You can make awesome games using just visual scripting. I would have to look for an example, but I have no doubt, that you can make a very good game without writing a single line of code. Of course the actual code is more flexible, you can do practically everything with it and with visual scripting you're a little bit limited, but it doesn't change the fact, that it's a great learning tool, that can be used to make good games.

The unity one is a buggy mess of an asset flip a beginner probably put together in a weekend to learn the basics, while the Roblox one was probably made by a team of passionate enthusiasts looking to do the original justice.

Probably a tile based isometric 3d editor of some sort. 9:00 Cyberix3D or maybe GoldSrc (both being quite old engines) 10:00 Newer version of Source Engine, in VR (I'm not entirely sure)
I just realised how insane making the portal mehanics in a game engine is. You know since engines try to replicate moving trough real world space but not many write their engines in such a way that those laws can be broken. Like a door in the middle of nowhere leading to another version of a world you can look at while still being nowhere or a coridour system that makes no sense

I had my own cs 1.6 server 10 years ago and i used portalgun amx plugin, it had all based mechanics like a objects flying through portals, i also tried to build my test chambers in minecraft with portal mod, yeah portal was one of my favorite games (especially portal 1)
Also i thought that on second part of video is actually some mod for P1 or P2, but i did not expect is that actually roblox lol

0:00 Source Engine (original)
1:00 Roblox (extremely good)
2:00 Unity (but very poorly)
3:00 Flash (done nicely)
4:00 Minecraft (without smooth lighting)
5:00 Scratch, or Ready Maker (not too good)
6:00 Doom (looks interesting)
7:00 Unreal Engine (with default player model and crosshair)
8:00 I have no idea. Probably a tile based isometric 3d editor of some sort.
9:00 Cyberix3D or maybe GoldSrc (both being quite old engines)
10:00 Newer version of Source Engine, in VR (I'm not entirely sure)
I just realised how insane making the portal mehanics in a game engine is. You know since engines try to replicate moving trough real world space but not many write their engines in such a way that those laws can be broken. Like a door in the middle of nowhere leading to another version of a world you can look at while still being nowhere or a coridour system that makes no sense
That roblox one looks amazing, it's sad that people still think roblox is terrible without even trying it
