The black wash on the Weapon is totaly fine. Or you can try dark green instead. Take a tiny bit of your dark green and mix it with a lot of water.
The Edgehighliting and painting the Sigil is easier if you use thebrush horizontal, so that the belly paint not the tip.Oh and the paints are all full mixable. If you want a lighter colour, mix on a palette a little bit of white in it. Or maybe a little bit of the green in the silver and paint the silver in direkt contakt of "glowing" green gems with it. So it looks more like glowing.

Ahh that makes more sense, because the black and green is a bit harsh. Dark green and light green would be much nicer. I will give the belly brush technique a try in my next video.

So with the symbols on the head chest and weapon I did an edge highlight kind of method on my Necron Overlord I have a longer bristle brush that isn't super thick but I use the whole side of the brush so the belly of it and just lightly go over those symbols and my gold just applies to them and nothing else. But that's a sick model. My local game store had a tank thing for the Necrons in stock that I was close to buying.

Nice, I need to try that out. I do have a long brush but I haven't had a chance to use it because I didn't know what it was for.

your welcome, a tip you could use for speed painting for example necron warriors , if you do use your black primer you could try to dry brush the armor parts of the model with lead belcher then just go in with a smaller brush for the details and it gives the model a nice rustic silver look.

Nice work. I have just entered the world of Warhammer around Christmas also but have not progressed anywhere as far as yourself. You have managed to embrace what I believe the hobby should be about, enjoyment in the creation with a steady progression. Each model shows improvement and your arsenal of tools and paint aid in that development. Keep it up.

What did you start with? I feel like pushing out a new video each week really pushes me to keep painting, even when I'm tired or want a break.

@@NFIHammer I jumped in boots and all with the recruit and command editions of the starter pack. One big learning curve and I'm trying to document all the steps.
Perhaps a bit gun shy on the paint as I don't want to mess it up.

I was really shy to start, but I have since realized if you made a mistake, you can just keep painting over it again! Sure it's probably not the best way to go, but there is no way I can paint like the pro's so this is how i cope.

@@NFIHammer I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I'm avoiding the realisation that I might be a bit of a hack at the painting thing. I enjoyed painting the bases though. No finesse required there.

Have you read any 40k novels?

I have not, but I have started listening to on Audible the 'Infinite and the Devine' and sort of enjoying it so far. I don't listen to a lot of audio books so taking me a bit to get into it. What novels do you recommend I check out?

@Mannan87 Very good book. I would recommend the books 'Helsreach' by ADB (epic warfare, brooding and belligerent Space Marines and their guardsman allies vs Ork hordes),
the Dark Imperium trilogy (war against Nurgle's hordes in the Ultramar sector, epic primarch duels, good characters, and overall epicness),
The Twice-Dead King (purely Necron-focused story, essentially perfect books, but really puts the *grim* in grimdark, so dont expect a happy ending.)
And Gaunt's Ghosts by Dan Abnett. I have only read the first one so I don't have much to say about the series as a whole.
I seem to remember that all of these novels had very good audiobook versions too, if that's what you're interested in
