Almost everything looks like a knock off. The Ranchero is a dead ringer for the Hyundai Santa Cruise. The total electric vehicles (inevitable) need to be the dual fuel -- they need to use the newer batteries being developed ... not the lithium ... and easily changed solar panels that can be attached to ski racks on the roof with built in connections for using it so people don't get stranded when the battery dies on longer trips with no charger station nearby. And/or, they need batteries that can be either recharged or swapped out at convenience stores the way propane gas tanks are swapped out.

Farley needs to focus on perfecting there current models and less emphasis on developing retro models that very few people will want. I've been a Ford loyalist for 40 years but I'm also a realist and they currently lead the industry in recalls and lots of them, "Quality isn't job #1"..just sayin' 😵💫
With more and more technology going into these vehicles just means less affordability. It's a shame they have not figured out that people need vehicles that are cost effective in this economy.

Electric is not the answer. North America's power grid is not capable of handling the sudden load of Electric vehicles nor will it ever be. Good way to kill the automobile industry. In a world of poverty why are we building overly priced tech?
If you remove the Ford emblems, it looks just like the Hyundai Santa Cruz, or Subaru Baja. I bet that the niche market those and the 1970's cars have already filled the market. There is only a small group of consumers that don't want a pickup truck or sedan, but want both.
Has Ford not learned anything from the billions of $$ lost on the Lightning? Why do they keep shooting themselves in the foot? I hate a damned car that drives me. I want to drive the car/truck. These nanny vehicles are not for the driver who wants the autonomy. Instead, the nanny car does everything for the driver. We who once DROVE a car are now nothing more than idiot passengers.
You can turn off Blue Cruise and lane keep assist IF you opted for it (and why would you as many RWD Mach E's have neither) and just drive as normal. 'Nuff said.
It's in the works. They're just trying to figure out how they can raise the grill vertically 4 feet so that it looks like the side of someone's shed coming down the street.
This video appears to be someone’s fantasy. I can’t find any confirmation of a new Ranchero or Capri. What I found on the Taurus says it’s only being sold in the Middle East and China
They need a model-t of EVs. Something like an escort hatchback that doesn't have the frills but basic. no infotainment, but have the space if you wanted to add something later you could or a 3rd party could.
The Ranchero looks just like another regular 4 door pick-up. Ford already has too many pick-up variations that look the same. A Tarus front with a pick-up rear would be more like a true Ranchero. You can buy and bring similar versions from Australia, but they would be right hand drive. How about a Holden Ute SV6 VF or the vehicle Ford already produces, the Falcon Ute EcoLPi. I'd be happy with a Falcon Ranchero.
A Falcon Ranchero would hit the bullseye! The early 60's Ranchero's were Falcon based, then grew into a Fairlane based Ranchero (I believe in '67) and in the early '70's it just got bloated. But, I think a 2 door Ranchero about the size of the now dead Fusion would do well in the market. Another point that I would suggest is to remove as much of the big screens, fancy electronics and digital dodads as possible. Basic gauges, hand crank windows, decent power output and a choice of a four speed automatic or 5 speed manual. IMHO, when an 8 or 10 speed automatic fails (out of warranty), it would cost more than the value of the car to replace or overhaul. Make it so real people can afFORD to repair it.
What would pique my interest: 1). Bring back the Ford Fusion. I could take or leave a Taurus, but the last Fusion was awesome. 2) Base the Ranchero on the Fusion. Ranchero was always cool because it was a car in the front, and a pickup in the back. Can’t have a Ranchero without an actual car to base it on. If it doesn’t look like a production car up front, it’s just another SUV.
PLEASE STOP USING COMPUTER GENERATED NARRATION. The description of the Ranchero "descended " into mangled English (?) towards the end. The Taurus is already being sold in China, so it won't so much be a case of bringing back a nameplate as it will be a case of reintroduction to it's original market. The Everest nameplate is already used on an SUV in Australia. My guess is that this vehicle will continue to be sold outside the North American market. And as a former Capri owner, and owner of several Mustangs, the model shown won't live up to expectations. First, it is a 4 door, but even more, it's styling borders on generic. The only link that I can see to previous models is the appearance (?) of 4 headlights at the front.
Sorry but the Ranchero just looks like everything else already out there....very SUV/Sport Crossover [ maybe that's the goal ] with the attempt to lure potential buyers using historic namesakes. Meanwhile the Capri looks a lot like VWs ID4. Basically.....I miss more sedan options. Kudos for trying new things though, Ford😎
Ford now understands it has a problem. Once again, they've failed to identify that problem, and just dumped it on the product planners to solve. Sorry Ford, the world isn't clamoring for another 5-door hatchback dumpling like the Capri, nor another 4-door pickup with a bed too small to haul anything normal people might want to haul in a pickup. The only positive note here is that Ford has realized that demand for sedans hasn't gone away. Ford's real problem is that the meat of the new car market is in the $20K-$40K price range, and like Stellantis and GM, Ford has mostly abandoned that segment. Sorry Ford, but Joe Suburbanite, isn't in the market for a $70K F-150. He's already got a mortgage, and doesn't need another.
It's all very well bringing back iconic vehicles yet the ute is only similar to Toyota hilux , New Zealand and Australia had Holden and Ford utes until both companies boned Australia and took money back to head office, then today's quality won't be the same as yesteryear
Just in an effort to help manufacturers why shit isn't selling. For instance, a 4 door lariat F 150 is quite literally only worth $35,000 brand new. Make it happen and they will sell. After all, the GT is not worth more than $100,000.
....in orher words ..the Ranchero is now ..JUST ANOTHER TRUCK ...oh wow....how innovative ..gee...they're definitely breaking new ground ...what bullcrap ...lol
I perked up when I heard about the Capri. Then I saw the rendering. I remember the old ones as stylish and interesting. So let's see.... an old sports coupe brought back as.... a 5 door small SUV. Absurd and boring.
If the new Ranchero keeps the same design as past models and not jack the price up with unnecessary technology, Ford won't be able to make enough for demand.

Our USA power grid cannot handle all these electric vehicles. Drive across west Texas in an EV worrying about the battery going dead, no thanks. The new Maverick and Ranchero look very similar. Why do you think Ranchero will be back? Unless it’s made from the Mustang muscle and a 2 door it will just be another Maverick truck.
Taurus back. No bull. LOL. The T-bird name is only 30 years older than the Taurus name.
You can call yours a T-Bird but it will not look any more like a T-Bird then their new Taurus looks like an old Taurus
Is there a new Ford Pinto in our future?
Yes there is. Instead of the gas tank being behind the back bumper it will be the battery pack, that way you will get the same thrill as the original Pinto when it suddenly blows up into flames after an errant shopping cart bumps into it in the supermarket parking lot😅
I feel like the legendary cars they are talking about are being ruined, call them something different. Dont soil the names of those amazing vehicles
Almost everything looks like a knock off. The Ranchero is a dead ringer for the Hyundai Santa Cruise. If they are going to focus on electric cars then they better be contributing to all the utility producers to up the game on providing energy. If cities are begging people to not use their air conditioners so much during the big heat waves, how are folks going to charge their all electric fire starters?
How about a small 2 door car?
Still waiting on the next Thunderbird or Lincon Mark IX coupe but NOT if disgraced as a 4 door SUV.
Those are dead and are never coming back up to the 2050's.
@@drakeil A lot can change between now & 2050. Shoppers may eventually get bored of today's SUV/crossover cookie cutter offerings, and welcome a retro style, classy luxury coupe like a new Buick Riviera, Cadillac Eldorado, or Chrysler Imperial, etc. Nice to have dreams.
Ford is toast. EVs are going to destroy them. The pricing is ridiculous, and quality doesn't cut it. And it's not just Ford.
Everything has to be 4 door… just like how they ruined the Bronco by making it 4 door….no one keeps it like it should be
Individual transportation is a huge mistake .
Automakers destroyed mass transit
Bringing back vehicles from the past without any of the retro styling to compliment their past history is an insult to a vehicles heritage. Use another name, these models have nothing in common with their predecessors. This is destroying legacy and nothing more. 😢
How many recalls will they have ? Where are the cars? Fix Or Recall Daily !
Hey Ford, no EV shyt, and no 4 door ranchero, unless youre hell bent on destroying your brand, and bring your prices back down to earth! I want a new work truck but im not paying 65k+ for a basic work truck.
If they are all electric they can keep it
They can cut the grid anytime
The total electric vehicles (inevitable) need to be the dual fuel -- they need to use the newer batteries being developed ... not the lithium ... and easily changed solar panels that can be attached to ski racks on the roof with built in connections for using it so people don't get stranded when the battery dies on longer trips with no charger station nearby. And/or, they need batteries that can be either recharged or swapped out at convenience stores the way propane gas tanks are swapped out.
All from China, everything battery related
Why?
All electric and made in Mexico
Oh please tell me the new Ranchero will not be a 4 door!
If it is to be "family friendly", it must.
Yes only 4 doors.
That is too bad. So it is just an SUV with a small bed. Another one. With the Bronco being a big success I would have thought that would show that not everyone wants a 4 door I am retired and a car like vehicle with a small bed that drives like a car would be great. @@robertstout260
Oh, how I wish I could tell you that lol! NO 4dr or all electric PU's for me either!!! It seems it's too much to ask to get them to offer a 2dr w hybrid, or gas only 4 cyl, w an optional 6 cyl gas engine!
Just not enough people want a 2 door these days ,same with standard transmission .@@ahundredpercentprosperous4222
We the Americans gasoline motored vehicles we don't need electric vehicles
Hate to tell you, but in less than a decade you won't be able to buy gasoline. It's just inevitable.
How stupid!!
why is it so hard to get a traditional ute? rear wheel drive, 6 & 8 cylinder options, 2 door , auto or manual.
Yeah , i do miss the old utes mate , and to be honest , i miss the simplicity of the old cars , and the ability for an owner with a little bit of basic mechanical knowledge to service and do repairs on cars that where made to be repairable , not like todays cars , if something fails often it gets replaced , if the shitbox breaks down , you call a tilt tray , on some of the newys today you dont even get a stinking spare , if a tyre is compromised like my bro`s tesla ........... you call for roadside assistance .
What a bloody utter joke .
modern cars, like who has the expertise to work on them. Certainly not the dealers I'd hate to have to get work done on a tesla.
@@mikldude9376they don’t want you to be able to fix your own car. They want you to buy a new one, or take it to one of their dealerships to get it “fixed”.
Because all manufacturers are ditching the ICE vehicles in the coming years.
how comfortable would you be, to be sleeping above a garage that has an EV being charged? Or living in a apartment block that has 5 or more EV's potentially ready to cookup underneath you. The EV battery tech is not safe enough yet. better to let others pay and play lab rat @@ytsux9259
To put the name Mustang on a EV is a direct insult to Lee Iacocca and the rest of us who owned the original. This push for EV is insane.
No back doors please.
The new Ranchero, as depicted here, looks a bit like a Subaru.
Looks exactly like a Honda Ridgeline.
Hell, it is a Subaru.
Want to see a European type Capri, an Australian type falcon Ute. Some V8 power .
the concept Capri doesn't look at all like the original, a shame and the new Taurus could be the next Falcon for Australia or the new Mondeo based car they have available in China?
Ranchero......but outfitted as if it was a Caddy.
Why can't they make a basic , not electonified unit, a basic unit with crank windows and basic stereo and no electronic nannies.
A basic vehicle that emphasizes analog controls and many fewer computers would be a simple, affordable option
WELL! HERE ON THE ISLAND OF PUERTO RICO A US TERRITORY, OUR POWER COMPANY CONTINUES TO ASK THE PEOPLE OF THE ISLAND TO PLEASE USE FANS INSTEAD OF AIR CONDITIONERS BECAUSE THEY ARE STRUGGLING TO KEEP UP WITH THE DEMAND FOR ELECTRICAL POWER, COULD YOU JUST IMAGINE ADDING ELECTRIC VEHICLES INTO THE EQUATION! I WILL BE STARTING A HORSE RANCH AND SELL BUCKBOARDS ALONG WITH THE HORSE.
EV's tout reduced carbon footprint, for the owner, but what about the mining of minerals to create the batteries? Curious minds want to know.
Shhhh.....You're not supposed to talk about that
With more and more technology going into these vehicles just means less affordability. It's a shame they have not figured out that people need vehicles that are cost effective in this economy.
three models i wish they would bring back are the grand torino, and thunderbird, and the l.t.d. i think a modern torino with a retro look would be terrific, the l.t.d could have the luxury car feel and look that i don't think ford carries in it's current models.. i know they brought back the thunderbird once.. i would hope they keep the original 50's body design again.. and if possable i would also hope they could bring back the cougar..
I'm totally in agreement with you, especially the Thunderbird. I collect cars, and I have several Thunderbirds, including a 65, 69 Landau (4 door), 77, 84 Élan, 90, and 96. I'm trying to get a 56, 59, 61, 70 bullet nose and 75.
Ford would likely ruin those icons as well.
Electric is not the answer. North America's power grid is not capable of handling the sudden load of Electric vehicles nor will it ever be. Good way to kill the automobile industry. In a world of poverty why are we building overly priced tech?
Bring back the Torino with a modern big block.
I'll keep my old 1986 Chevy short wide Pickup it's still running great paint and body is straight and I just did a new interior
They don't build enough Mavericks what makes you think they are ever going to bring these to market.
Great job, Mr. Farley! Now, what are the MSRPs of these vehicles?
If you remove the Ford emblems, it looks just like the Hyundai Santa Cruz, or Subaru Baja. I bet that the niche market those and the 1970's cars have already filled the market. There is only a small group of consumers that don't want a pickup truck or sedan, but want both.
wish they would bring back the SHO
They probably will.
'Nuff said.
Agree!
GM & Ford must be gluttons for punishment way they keep pushing this EV crap. Will french company formerly known as Fiat-Chrysler do likewise?
I’ll take my petrol Ford vehicle only
I'll wait and see thank you. Fords recent history with reliability is waying heavily on my mind
Reliably is what they need to boost sales....all the big three have major quality issues.
But what about bringing Australia’s Ford Falcon sedan and Ute to the US Market?!
It's in the works. They're just trying to figure out how they can raise the grill vertically 4 feet so that it looks like the side of someone's shed coming down the street.
Original capri was a VERY COOL Sports Car. This new one looks like a box full of sheet.
if they had kept the Focus, I would be driving one now. Going Subaru Impreza, Corolla, or Mazda 3 hatch. not sure which one of those yet
I think the problems they had with the auto box in the Focus caused its downfall
in the US, otherwise it's a great car, I have a manual euro model.
If I wanted clickbait I would watch Scott Kilmer and his videos are way better
How about the Panther Platform of the Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis, and the Lincoln Town Car.
Will the Tarus be affordable? You can keep the rest.
I wish they could bring back the crown Victoria
I got bets going these will get recalled in 6 months like the Maverick and Broncos did.
What would pique my interest:
The fusion was Fords best selling car. fuel mileage sucked on the Taurus compared to the fusion.
The new Taurus is projected to be a MID SIZE sedan so in essence it will be a Fusion/Mondeo based car with the old Taurus name.
@@Thommadura , good news.
I still can’t believe they won’t bring back Thunderbird, and do it properly. I like my 2004, but…
....in orher words ..the Ranchero is now ..JUST ANOTHER TRUCK ...oh wow....how innovative ..gee...they're definitely breaking new ground ...what bullcrap ...lol
I perked up when I heard about the Capri. Then I saw the rendering. I remember the old ones as stylish and interesting. So let's see.... an old sports coupe brought back as.... a 5 door small SUV. Absurd and boring.
Seriously? The 'new Ranchero' doesn't look anything like a Ranchero. It looks like just another high tech pickup.
If the new Ranchero keeps the same design as past models and not jack the price up with unnecessary technology, Ford won't be able to make enough for demand.
They won’t. Instead, it’s going to look more like a Subaru Baja.
nothing in this video showed that. 4 doors, electric/hybrid, power everything and every nude gadget that will fail soon. also, see any prices?
that's new, not nude btw
I owned a 1973 Capri V6, and what I see here....AIN'T NO CAPRI !!!!Garbage
Better yet instead of snowing people under with the ranchero, capri and Taurus, how about build reliable vehicles instead recall princesses.
This video was blatantly Ford's promo attempt. I guarantee most folks won't be able to afford any of these.
Greetings from oakville Ontario Canada home of the ford plant opened up in 1953 I know that the ford edge is being retired next year and that our plant is being retooled for ev products
Thankfully the retooling will only take about two days because the Edge will only need different headlights to be called The Capri
If it has a backseat, four doors and a puny open box in the back, don't call it a truck.
It's a car that's missing a trunk lid.
Why use the Capri name and refer to the original Capri when the new one looks like a small SUV. Same thing with the Ranchero.
Triste!!
Our USA power grid cannot handle all these electric vehicles. Drive across west Texas in an EV worrying about the battery going dead, no thanks. The new Maverick and Ranchero look very similar. The old Ranchero had a cool factor off the charts, this new thing, bathtub sized bed, looks nothing like the good old ones.
But the EV truck comes with a cutout of Biden pretending to drive it.
Not to mention you still gotta somehow generate the juice to charge them (provided you can find a station to do so.) EVs are expensive to buy/maintain, are a fire hazard, & potential enviro-hazard once battery packs need replacement.
