- Lady Sarah Frances Elizabeth Chatto was born as Lady Sarah Frances Elizabeth Armstrong-Jones on May 1, 1964, at Kensington Palace, London. Through her mother Princess Margaret, she is a niece of Queen Elizabeth II, and the youngest grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. She has one older brother, David Armstrong-Jones, who, after the death of their father, became the new Earl of Snowdon. She also has three half-siblings through her father. Polly is her older half-sister who was born to her father and a woman named Camilla Fry. Her younger half-sister is Lady Frances von Hofmannsthal, whose mother is Lucy Lindsay-Hogg. She also has a younger half-brother, Jasper Cable-Alexander, born to journalist Melanie Cable-Alexander.

When the Queen Mother & Princess Margaret died close together..l wrote to her expressing my sympathy.She sent me a very sweet reply.I understand The Queen adored her..she seems to get on well with all the family..And her wedding dress was the nicest I’ve soon a royal wear.

Queen Elizabeth watched over her sister’s children after Margaret went through certain bad patches in her life. She became close to Sarah and her brother during those periods.

In some photos from her childhood she bears an uncanny resemblance to Princess Charlotte. But Sarah is someone whose looks vary considerably from photo to photo. In some of these pictures she resembles her grandfather, King George VI.

I worked in an a very artsy office near Bond St and she came into my office, I was just coming out and she was with a friend and she was smiling, I was smiling as I had a laugh outside that office I remember her big catchy smile At the time I didn't know who she she was until I just walked past and thought about it. She did come across as nice
I think she's adorable
She always looks a tinge sad to me. I think neither Princess Margaret, nor Anthony Armstrong Jones were good and loving parents. Both were incredibly selfish and self absorbed. Sarah chose to live her life as she chose and in private. I think she's very down to earth and introverted, maybe because of her parents living their lives in the limelight. I love her. Looking at her gorgeous children and how her husband looks at her, she is now adored as she well deserves.
The late Queen adored Sarah. She was one of the few people that she allowed to stay with her at her cabin in Balmoral. She is actually very close to all her cousins . She is very private and discreet. Yes, the Queen took care of her and her brother when Princess Margaret was going through her rough patches in her marriage. The Queen always included her and her brother in the family vacations. Her boys are so handsome!! At the QUEEN funeral, She look devastated by the lost of a much loved Aunt. She is always seen at main royal family gatherings. I don’t think it will change. King Charles adored her too.
I disagree just because parents have problems does not equate to no love for their children, look closely at photos when with her parents you can see the love especially her father had in several for her
I have never ever read anything to suggest that Princess Margaret and AA Jones were not good.parents . In fact both their children seem very well adjusted.
I think you are right though I saw her in my office near Bond St and she has her famous big smile. Artsy people are quite different from normal people and many of us bond over art.
Her aunt, Queen Elizabeth adored her. She was lucky she had Her Majesty. Margaret was a self-absorbed, angry, frustrated woman.
Thank you. I was always pleased to hear that Lady Sarah remained very close with her aunty our late Queen, both her and her brother have always been such beautiful people, despite what they may have gone through earlier in life. Wonderful royals.
At Royal Wedding in 1981 she was a nice teenager and then she became a beautiful woman but she stayed a simple person despite being noble.

I can see a resemblance to the Late Queen Elizabeth and Lady Sarah Chatto in Charlotte. Lady Sarah I think resembles her father Anthony Armstrong - Jones and her aunt the Queen. I don't see much resemblance to Princess Margaret in Sarah. Funny how genes work and how different people see different family resemblances,

I agree. I have for a long time thought Charlotte resembles Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth and Lady Sarah Chatto and sometimes her father Prince Willaim when he was a boy. I think She leans more towards Willaim's side of the family in looks rather than the Middleton's.

The wedding day of Lady Sarah must had been intense. You can see from the group photo how shunted out her father is. Also how dominant the monarch and Queen mother are. It’s all girl heavy. Her dress was really cool at the time abs has totally aged well. Her husband looks affable. They are still married which is a miracle for the Windsors.
