In the 1932 movie "WHITE ZOMBIE", the expert on such things explains that in Jamaica, burying someone alive for the purpose of turning them into a zombie is legally considered "murder", even if they do come back from the dead. (or something like that)

You need to do a video on "Night Breed" by Clive Barker of "Hellraiser" fame . Its got great practical effects ,creature design and makeup effects . Its a totally under rated 80's horror movie with a good story .

@@razycrandomgirl It was meant to be kid friendly horror. It also came out in the 90s. Im too lazy to look it up honestly. It was based on a popular kid/teen horror story called Cabal. A decent amount of people liked it since it wasnt as brutal as a book like Mr. Begone, Weaveworld, and Hellbound Heart. It was meant to be more mainstream. I personally could not get into the books or movie.

    • @TwistedTB

I enjoyed the novella it was based on "Cabal", but the movie was kinda cheesy. It is worth watching for the monster designs though, and also a supporting acting role for David Cronenberg, the famous body horror director.

Bordello of Blood is pretty trashy but kinda fun, thanks to Dennis Miller and all the tits.

Those didn't have anything to do with the HBO series, however. They're very different and they don't have much of the EC-style black humor that the series did very well. Really, "Creepshow" did much better at capturing the EC-style than the 70s adaptations did.

From Dusk till Dawn was a Tales from the Crypt movie?
That... makes too much sense. "They were vampires or something the whole time!" is a not uncommon twist in the comics. Although a faithfill Tales from the Crypt story would have lasted like 3 minutes after Salma Hayak finished dancing, then cut to the aztech pyramid outside. The comics rarely have shootouts and never let the good guy win.

The machete is seen as a weapon of freedom in the Caribbeans it was the tool the slaves had to fight back against their masters.

That's the same Crypt Keeper puppet that Warner Brothers used for the DVD menus for several seasons of the HBO series. And for a DVD menu, it's fine...weird and off-putting, but fine...because it's a DVD menu. When I saw that same puppet being used in a MOVIE, though, I nearly choked.
To even call that glorified mannequin a puppet, I feel, does a disservice to Kevin Yagher's brilliant animatronic puppetry for the series and previous films. Yagher and John Kassir brought the Crypt Keeper to life in a way that made him REAL. This is more like a crudely realized Crypt Keeper DUMMY. Kassir tries his best, but there's simply no bringing that jaw-flapping, glassy-eyed monstrosity to life.

8:00 I don't know they guys name, but I remember him from hellraiser 5.i don't mind hellraiser 5, but seeing him here in ritual, I feel bad for him. He never got a break. I think he could have made a decent punisher. But that's most likely just me and my opinion. .

I had no freakin' clue there was a remake of the brilliant "I Walked With A Zombie"! After seeing this, I know why. Val Lewton must be shitting in his grave.

I know there's laws and customs regarding zombification in Haiti, so why not Jamaica (assuming they actually do have a flavor of voodoo, I'm not sure if it got there)? Practitioners of voodoo are scared to death (no pun intended) of zombies because they are like this embodiment of black magic or something.

16:40 I did a quick Google search about that, and there aren't literally any laws about zombies. But there is a law that makes obeah completely illegal, so yeah technically there is a law making zombies illegal in Jamaica. (search for "the obeah act")

......damn. Had to listen twice to make sure you said Tim Curry was a step up from Corey Feldman. Tim Conway is a step up from Feldman. Tim Currys step isn't even on the same flight of stairs as Feldman.

Demon Knight is still my favorite Tales from the Crypt movie. I'm a sucker for 90s Universal horror movies like Bride of Chucky (1998), The Mummy (1999), and Army of Darkness (1992).

I've seen this too. And yeah it is boring. Most I remember it is the sick ending. What's the point defeating one villain only to have her become a toy for a rapist? In other words another horrible person.

  • @sergiocampanale3882

Not surprising this disappoints the Tales from the Crypt crowd, since it's a remake of I walked with a Zombie, one those slow burn, Val-Lewton style 'creepy horror mysteries' where Horror was still tied to whodunits and detective mysteries, and suggestion ruled over graphic depiction. Interesting to see that style transferred to a 21st century movie, but it goes against the grain and obviously doesn't satisfy a modern audience with different expectations.

Oh wait, is that Jennifer Grey from "Dirty Dancing", "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", "Red Dawn"? I never saw her in any movies with her new nose, only in pictures with her Husband Clark Gregg from Marvel's Avengers and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fame as Agent Coulson.

Hey brother new subscriber. You're videos are fuckin hilarious bro. I remember some buddies of mine had a old cable access channel in Austin, Tx that reviewed lame movies back in the early 2000's. Your humor reminds me of it. Keep up the good work 👍
