Ah - don't ask me why, I could not pinpoint why, but : it's one of my Megadeth favorites. It's the perfect intro to a apocalyptic tone, both musically and thematically. Love your vid on this one.
I always thought Dawn Patrol was about working the nightshift. I totaly get it i was "Dawn Patroling" for years and the misery and depression it brings is evident in the lyrics and vibe of the music. Besides i could listen to Daves bass tone forever its a thing of beauty.
I've always loved this song, it's so much fun to play and that riff sounds even cooler when you throw a chorus pedal on there as well. Definitely one of Ellefson's best bass riffs without a doubt
i actually see dawn patrol as an introduction to the closing track, pretty unusual i guess. but that's how i interpreted since the first time i heard rust in peace!
The isolated drums sound a bit like a slowed down version of what Clive Burr played for the intro to The Prisoner off of the Number Of The Beast album by Iron Maiden.
@@AndriyVasylenko yeah I didn't mind Peace Sells, but I see records as a statement in time. I grew up listening to those records and had them embedded in my brain. For him to change them so drastically was jarring. It's a damn shame it's so hard to find the original versions nowadays
You know what, fuck it, I'll play English teacher today lol. Writhing basically means horrible pain. So Dave is basically saying the Earth is in constant agony. Forebode, I didn't even know could be used as a verb, since I only ever hear foreboding, which is a noun, but it basically means to predict something, usually bad, to happen
I always kinda disliked Dawn Patrol. It has that really strong bass line, but that's all. It also is one of the tracks, where i do find daves vocals actually annoying. It always felt like something unfinished to me, that wasted it's potential. Even if it may be an intro to Rust In Peace... Polaris. I always want to skip it, to get to RIP... Polaris, but don't do it, because it's so short. It doesn't overstay it's welcome, so i really can't complain too much and people do seem to like it. Of course i am a Guitarist. Bass is cool tho
I thought it was gonna be symphony of destruction lol
Solo is lit tho
@Vankyy but the main riff is just dunuh nuh, dunuh nuh djndjidjn dunuh nuh...
Chorus is surprisingly sophisticated because Dave. There's an odd bend in there and a melody that involves string skipping.
Grandma shredding that solo would be badass
@Ledmetacdc well, I meant the main riff but yeah
Dawn patrol is supposed to be a lead in to rust in piece polaris.
Like the narrated lead in to the story of nuclear destruction.
an 8-string bass led to a 9 note bass line, played on a 4-string
"the numbers, batman... what do they mean????"
xd
Lollll
Damn, forgot to mention that fact about 9 notes

I really appreciate it

I think James was talking about Les claypool.
🤫
Obviously Les Claypool was fired for being a drunk. Dave was fired because he was too good.

Ellefson is a great bass player, this is a tasty riff,

One of the best songs of the album imo

Twisting out of control

I will forever begrudge Dave for tarnishing the catalog with those remixes. Hilarious and informative video, dude!!
There’s a few exceptions, but yeah. Thanks!

foreboding is also an adjective:
implying that something bad is going to happen.
"when the Doctor spoke, his voice was dark and foreboding"
but its attitude is all METAL
Hello Andriy I like your beanie 😁
Hey, yeah it’s getting lil cold down here
nice, can you do a video on rust in peace pol aris
