I have a son going into K and one going into 7th. I'm going to use Shormann for my 7th grader, but would you say TGATB math for my K student is better than the Horizons math for him? I think I remember you using both at some point.

Ashley i could really use your insight! Im torn between horizons and tgatb math for my grade 1 and grade 2 and given you have used both which do you prefer? Which lays a stronger foundation? Of you could go back would you have stayed with horizons and then tranfered to tgatb or would you go back and choose tgatb math from day 1??
Gahhh you’re such a sweet mom! We’ve been doing TGTB math again this year (after switching to MUS for a year-which my daughter did well, but kept asking to “do the fun math”). I’m glad I took the time to watch this, as it’s reminded me to slow down & ENJOY the lessons. I rush my kids to “hurry up!”, so we can be done for the day 😬. Thank you for filming this. Olivia is adorable!! Tell her I said keep up the great work & stay sweet!!
Do you keep all of your kids work after they complete it. If so for how long and how do you file thag away organizationally?
Is TGTB grade level or age range?

How does TGTB math compare to horizons for the same age? I know horizons is just worksheets, but as a mama teacher, do you feel like you send the same amount of time teaching the math curriculum for both? TGTB math seems much more hands on.

Love this video!! Just ordered Level 2 for one of my kiddos to start in August. I’m happy to have gotten one of the “old sets” with more activities- my daughter will love it! I wish I could’ve gotten level 3 too but they’re already sold out. Enjoy your school year!

My son is using this too and he absolutely loves all the hands-on activities it uses. This should essentially be review for him but you can actually see a difference...he's getting it now. He has a much better understanding of the why behind it. We love it!

We went with Horizons again for the year but now I’m thinking of TGTB again. Do you feel it’s comparable to where Horizons is?
It’s entirely different and structured differently. Can’t really compare the two
I just came across your channel. I'm considering this curriculum and I've never homeschooled before....do I need internet access for my child to be successful? Also, she is just learning regrouping (borrowing) would I start with level 3 or 2? Do you use all the same curriculum or pick from several? Its overwhelming

I did up until this year. She’s proficient enough at reading that we didn’t feel it was necessary anymore

We just finished lesson 13, and to this point, TGTB math 3 has not been a favorite of mine or my third grade daughter. It seems so wordy and downright confusing. Maybe we were spoiled with Right Start Math K-2. We LOVE TGTB LA, but may need to look elsewhere for math. 🤷🏻♀️

I Love these explanations and ways to remember things in this curriculum ! We haven't tried it yet, i was on the fence wondering of it would be too much or the lessons too long maybe .. but I definitely want to try it now. That visual with Mr Gallon would even help me...and i really like the way they relate the commutive property to a commute back and forth to work.

I have " 3rd grade" twins and We are using level 2 and love it. Day 4 is in the books. Thank you for getting us into TGATB. I just got Gods Timeline in to from seeing it on a older video you did. Im using for morning basket. Thks!
We just finished 2 and next week we will start on 3. My kiddo really likes that it is horizontal now instead of vertical. She has already started playing with some of the Math box game. We are both stoked to start it soon.
Math 3 wasn't out yet when kiddo needed math for her level, but I purchased the PDF of the activity box. It's a great addition to the math we are using. I love the layout of the Math 3 workbook though. Youngest is using Math K and is enjoying it so far. Her shirt with the turtles is so cute. My kids like to do geography on the floor!

I love seeing "the lightbulb" light up on your daughter's face when she answers 4x3 🥰 That's my favorite part of homeschooling! We're working through the transition lessons before diving into our TGATB math and we are loving it so far.

Also, love how you put 2+2=4 in the thumbnail, made me chuckle because there’s insanity right now going around that 2+2 does not equal four because that’s racist 🙄 um, like in what world?! You can’t change math facts, period. Anyway, not to get political, but I noticed that and thought it was funny. Love your videos!
2+2=4 is a literary reference to George Orwell's novel 1984. The characters in the novel were lied to and told they were contantly at war. This was to keep them controled and in fear. The people would submit to anything, even captivity to stay safe. In the end the main character is tortured to turn in his friend. In a demonic monologue the man behind "big brother" tells him "if I hold up three fingers you will see 3 fingers". "Two and Two are not 4 they are what I say they are."
No idea that was even a thing! Lol
@@GraceandGrit sorry, I meant to add that you probably weren't trying to make a statement of that...but yes, the idea is if you follow logic and numbers and if things don't add up, we have the right to say they don't add up, in other words 2+2=4. Information can get convoluted to support a lucrative agenda. In those cases, 2+2=can equal something other than 4. I did not know anyone equated this reference to George orwell with racism....does any one know anything? Maybe it has to do with the mask wearing being divided by party lines. Libral=masks/ conservative= no masks. Sigh, welcome to the most decisive political environment in our living memory! ❤️
