"I see trees of green. Red roses too. I see them bloom for me and for you. And I think to myself, what a wonderful world.".I'm gonna have that song in my head all day!! LOL We could use a little of that FOR SURE. Hope your trees are successful!!!
It WORKED!!!!!!!!!! I have a peach tree, variety unknown, and I wanted more exactly like this variety and so I tried to air graft it like Danny demonstrated. It worked! One has inch long roots and another has white spots that show where the roots will be!!! I had TRIED to root cuttings but they always failed, and I am thrilled to get more peach trees!!!!!
I need to check mine out. I did them about 2-3 days after you did. I used peat moss because you recommended it. Thanks y’all, I’ll let you know how my pears came out. Shalom!
The Lord has blessed both their labors and their attitudes with the abundance of the fruits of their labors. What they are doing now is the initial investment in infrastructure. Eventually, most of their work will be harvesting and putting by.
It’s definitely an educational experience to see how the different species respond to the air layering. I have seen other people air layering or ground layer - bow a limb to the ground and pin it there with some dirt and a rock on top - and leave it there at least over the winter. Obviously, not everything roots equally quickly. I’m sometimes reminded that the hurrier I go, the behinder I get.
You did a great job mr Danny and Miss Wanda! My daddy would air layer hibiscus and croton bushes for hedges in south FL back in the 60's. Hed carefully cut bark off 1 inch strip on a branch, pack it with sopping wet peat moss, wrap that in saran wrap tightly, then wrap that in aluminum foil twisting the ends tightly and leavevit be for 6 weeks. You did a beautiful job on your fruit trees sir and they'll be good producers for you for many years to come. God bless y'all.
Hello Wanda and Danny what a nice video to watch. You all's 🍇 grapes are looking real nice.I alway's enjoy seeing the cow's and all the farm animals.Be well there.Love,Pia and our Family still livin here in the S.F.Bay Area of California.😘❤🙏
Danny don’t be alarmed if your air layers go into shock after removing from the trees. Put them in a place that gets no direct sunlight. I also recommend taking all the Leafs off. Once they recover from the shock the trees will start to put off new leaf buds. Once the plants come off the trees they look like they want to die but it’s just shock they will come back. Did this with some of my trees and this is what I found. I think dip n grow works better to root out cuttings. You need an empty Tupperware sand and a lid for that tub where the sand must be moist. I recommend a heating mat as well. You take a cutting take all the leafs off dip and dip and grow. You put the cuttings in the Tupperware laying on top of the sand spray lightly or mist with water. Put the lid on leave on the heat mat for about two weeks and keep the cuttings moist. Should have roots before you know it.
Mine dropped all its leaves and limbs are still green. I am letting them just sit, grow more roots. By late fall, Nov. In N Carolina plant them. When Spring comes, they will wake up and Bam!! NEW FRUIT TREEs...❤
Looks like the air grafting was a success 🙌 😊 and the grapes look fabulous, my mouth is watering over those. Congratulations, your hard work is paying off. Thanks for sharing 😊
I have good luck rooting Mulberry, just by taking a cutting in the early spring, and I put it where I want it, and keep it watered. My success rate is 80%.
I loved coming along with y'all today and watching you tend your animals, harvest a few goodies, and the air layering of the trees! ❤ Blessings to you both Mr. Danny and Miss Wanda 😊
Wow!!! Amazing indeed. Everything is looking so good at Pecan Grove. I always learn something new watching your channels!!! You guys are Awesome, thanks for sharing. 😊
Started mine at the same time you did. Poplar, apple and mulberry. Checked them this morning after watching this and all six are almost completely root bound in the bag. The only difference between our methods is that I omitted the powdered rooting hormone. They don't derive any benefit from it. To the contrary, it can stifle cell development in air layered propagation. I can send photos if you'd like.
🤣I have a pot stash similar to yours! Cool, I’m going to try that rooting method on our mulberry, apple and peach trees... maybe on our lemon and limes too!🎉 This is exciting!!!😃
Rhanks Danny and Wanda. I haven't had time to air layer my fruit trees yet. Is it too late to do my fig, plum, and pear trees in zone 7b/8a? Much Love ❤
Danny I remember watching you and Ms. Wanda do those grafts on the trees how did it take was it 4 or 5 weeks about? Anyway that's amazing thank you for sharing with us.
The lady I bought the house from wants a start the white dogwood so trying air layering withe it. Have not told her yet in case doesn’t work. Will try magnolia as well. Tree is not doing well and her daughter gav it to her 40 yrs ago.
@@lisarussell1521 Did you ever see the episode of The Beverley Hillbillies where Granny says something about cooking, but first she needs a little pot? She was almost arrested. Homophones can be dangerous. Of course, others would have called it a saucepan.
I feel like I keep missing the point on this air layering. Is it usually more successful than rooting in water using rooting solution? Or maybe that's not possible for fruit trees? Any help in understanding this would be appreciated.
Danny, just concerned, but your coloring does not look good. Do not overdo it. Wanda, keep an eye on him. We love you guys and don't want anything to happen to you both.

My favorite version of this was done by Louis Armstrong, who was far more than just a musician.
@@vickisavage8929 Yes, that's the one I heard, so impactful after so many decades.

Given the current temperatures at DSH and PG, the heat mat is probably overkill.
If done outside, yes but I do mine indoors this way i can control the climate. I find I have more success that way.

Danny needing to sharpen that knife….. Wow thanks for the info…. Great
It's the type of zip ties there uv resistant very hard.
I disremember. Are those muscadines, scuppernongs, or some of both? Maybe the ripe ones out of reach would come down if you shook the branches gently.
Wow I would love some of those ❤
Watching from West Virginia❤
Morning
Enjoyed being up with y’all early this morning Wanda 🐔
Wanda, that is exactly like my pot stash! Lol, except yours may be a little more organized than mine.
Good job Danny love the video
Look at the size of those grapes
I've always had a hard time trying to root mulberry trees
That’s so cool … I had bought these special black balls that clip together , for air layering… I’m gonna have to try it out
My muscadines finally made some fruit this year … not a whole lot but I picked them and froze them
