在最後的選舉日，那位破壞女性權益的"女性"議員仍然當選了，媒體們也發文嘲笑或許Taylor的影響力不如自己想像中的大。失望之餘，Taylor Swift寫下了這首歌，Only The Young，她知道越來越多的年輕人會擁有投票權，因此將希望交給下一代，希望年輕人們能改變當今社會的不公正，改正人們對平等與基本人權的踐踏。這首的主歌部分正是描述了Taylor在飛機上的支那位議員當選時，憤恨不敢相信的情緒，並在副歌將希望寄託於未來的年輕人們，Only The Young can run, and Only The Young can change the future.
