Why do we need 5G? If the service providers properly provide 4G data, we never need 5G. Remember when we had 3G, we were able to download a song sized 5 - 7MB in ~10 seconds, after they launch 4G, they reduced 3G speed. Same way once the 5G is fully rolled out, you will be so much frustrated to use 4G because they will reslduce the 4G speed to 512kbps to 1Mbps and you can't even watch youtube.

I think it's more to do with aligning our telecom industries with the international standards. It's far better just to be early than playing the catch-up game. Some SE Asian, Canadians, South American countries have yet to implement 5G. It gives us an advantage in terms of internet accessibility with modern standards.
And yes, you're true to some extent. As we roll our 5G networks, 4G will get nerfed. You see running multiple generations of network infrastructure takes a lot of resources and hence companies will start with reducing older generation service in order to make way for newer generation technology. Like....you need the same amount of energy to run both 5G and 2G BTS (Tower in layman's terms) but data transmission rate is fractions of what 5G can do. So mostly 4G spectrum will eventually get phased out. Most older spectrum will be available in rural areas because lower MHz frequency while being slow can cover a much larger area with a single BTS. I hope this helps.
2G speed is max 40- 50kb/sec and you are telling you are able to download 7mb song in 10 sec what a joke 🤣🤣🤣 Now I am getting speed of 100Mb/sec
