Just got mine! 3rd day in and I can already jump pretty high! I'ma start learning tricks in a few weeks or something, once I get super comfortable on the thing. Worth every penny
That might be a little bit troublesome to take, but I might try someday. I don't think it's any mechanical defect or anything like that, I just noticed I'm getting this air compression sound occasionally, on stronger jumps.
Seems like these pogoes would be good for training use, body coordination, agility etc.. My sister's 8 yr old son seriously conquered the pogo. Several yrs later, he became an almost instant expert downhill skier. I take the use of these things serious, even though their primary use is simply for fun.
Many years before this came along, there was a gasoline powered pogo stick. It was called the J&R Unirod. It was in the trade magazines but, I don't remember the date. It had a carb and an expansion chamber / exhaust pipe. Sounded like a 12 gauge shotgun. IF you did not lean forward, your CG was behind the stick. It flipped backwards.
I’m gonna buy one for my commute to work. 😂😂😂😂 Can’t wait to show up as a realtor to my open houses on this. I’ll jump away for joy after work going home 🦘
Hi Ian sir , I have a V4 pro . My weight is 65kgs . I insert around 35 psi Of air everytime I go for a bounce session . It makes me go up to 2ft high high max . Sir , what tips and tricks would you suggest me to get a higher , smoother bounce . I want to upgrade my level . - cheers from India !
Add more air. The more air you put into the cylinder, the stiffer the spring becomes and the higher you can jump. I'd suggest trying 45 psi to start and working your way up from there as you get comfortable.
Most of the heat from compression dissipates upon decompression. The aluminum cylinder will get fairly warm after jumping on it, but most of that heat comes from the friction of the o-ring on the piston running up and down the cylinder on every jump. We've always recommended replacing the o-ring once every year if you're jumping somewhere fairly clean and maybe 2-3 times a year if you're jumping somewhere dirty in which case dust or debris can get sucked into the cylinder and eventually scratch the o-ring which can lead to air leaks. They are designed to be taken apart with only a 1/4" and 3/16" allen key, and the design is actually very simple once you see what is inside the cylinder, so repairs are very simple at home. Pretty much any repair would take 10-15 minutes at most. All parts are available for purchase or are free if under warranty.
What's the recommended way to exercise on a V4? Just jump, jump, jump and keep jumping? As an endurance training of sorts? I really need to get down from those 210 pounds at 6 feet tall if I'm ever to dream of jumping higher than 3 feet high :(
Jumping at a set height of a foot or two is a good form of steady state cardio that's similar to a jog. The higher you jump, the harder you have to work. If you can get to jumping 3 feet high you'll get tired within a couple minutes. If you can jump 4-5 feet high it'll be a real struggle to stay on for more than a minute!
Thanks! Though from my experience, jumping higher is actually easier on me, as there is a longer flight period which makes the rest between ich jump longer, ironically enough :D But with my crappy stamina, I can barely make it to a minute and a half anyway. Too bad it's getting cold out, I'll really miss this during the winter :(
When I saw your comment, i was thinking, "ok thats subjective". Looked it up, then said to myself, "HOLY SHIT" ! I feel the same way sir. I am poor too. This is far beyond my reach, and quite depressive to be honest :(
dang, i love pogo sticking, but i don't have the money. Any cheaper options for a better pogo? right now i have the foam one that i got as a kid and it bottoms out every time, and i can only get it to go about 3 feet at most.

I'm 14, 5' and 84 pounds. I feel like I should get a medium because I'm still growing, and I plan to have the stick for a while, but what do you guys think?
The pump we use in the video is a cheap Schwinn footpump that we bought from Target for about $15. At your height, the medium would be too big. Our recommendation would be to get a small, which you'd be able to use until you're about 5'6"...something like a year or two. We have size upgrade kits to turn a small into a medium so that you don't have to buy a whole new stick in the future. If you're interested in doing tricks, the medium would make it pretty difficult to do them. If you don't care about doing any tricks and just want to jump around, a medium would probably work, though it still wouldn't be nearly as comfortable as a small.
The tip lasts anywhere from a couple months to a year depending on where it's used and the type of terrain you use it on. Every parts is easily replaceable, and we sell them on our website.
I need this in my life. That way I'll be literal when I tell people that I have to bounce.

vurtegopogo yeah. I'm hearing that weird springy noise that reminds me of a bullet ricocheting when I jump really hard though, hope it's normal.

How is the heat from the compression managed? Im sure it causes significant wear and tear. Are there rebuild kits or is it solely "send in for repair"
