Mammals need each other and have young that cannot be independent right away, like animals that hatch out of eggs. So they have more complex means of bonding and communication, which is why dogs are so expressive. We are also mammals but for us, the same behaviors include emotion. So it's easy to project human feelings onto animals. But it's just the mammal part of us.

The warriors and the fighters are up front to clear the way of danger.
