You can push with your finger on the little round plastic cover to one side and then it’s easier to get it out with a screw driver. This way you don’t damage it.
Thanks for the help I was having trouble getting the switch plate out I need to add that on the 2014 I was working on had a torx under the red reflector
Do you have to do that last part before doing the speaker, taking the last part of the panel completely off? Can't you just angle it out of the way? One less thing to disconnect and reconnect.

I don't know why it's so hard for car companies to put a simple pop-off cover over the speaker so you can change it without removing the entire door panel.

In the Sync settings under 'Sound' there is an option to adjust the balance (rear/front) of the system.

Its safer to not have speakers fly around in collisions ?

Yeah, and the focus is one of the worst overall designed cars I've ever had. Everything you can do wrong with things, they did wrong.
You do know it's made that way so you can't do it yourself..... Literally for almost 30 years cars have been this way
