Always great to hear from you Moose. I think weather technology has greatly improved but perfection is not possible. I'll keep you in my heart and wish you safe travels. Looking forward to part 1. Hugs.
Thank you, part one just uploaded
Exciting times for the indomitable Moose.
Thanks so much
Such a joy to see you well my friend. A fascinating video where I've learned so very much as always. This is so exciting! Can't wait for the next upcoming videos 💙🙏💫🌊⛵
Thanks again!
Good luck Moose. Happy sailing. I will watch for updates.
Awesome, thank you!
It is really fascinating to see how you plot a course at sea, since I know so little about that. I am used to plotting a course on trails with a map and compass.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Bon voyage Moose. We look forward to hearing about your trip.
Thank you
When you get there, stop by stock island. Visit Hurricane hole! Great stop to sail up to the dock and have a dinner! Following your adventure!
Thanks for the tips!
@@MooseHenderson1 still there if you need a first mate ! just saying !
Your speech sounds like it used to be. Congratulations. Looking forward to your next update.
Thank you, the learning curve of dentures
Could be a monster out there. I would guess that you are already in Key West or had a long delay getting started. Very interesting and quite different than looking at Google earth.
Had a few more delays, leaving next week.
Good to see you,be careful and stay well, have a safe trip 😊🌷🪻🇺🇸
Thank you, I will
Interesting hope you have fair winds behind you the whole way through. It would be nice to have a tracker to follow your progress.
Thanks, I thought about an in-reach but decided on a regular 406 epirb
Awesome planning
Thank you! 😊
Hi Moose! I am glad I came in late because I was able to watch Parts I and II in order. I know jack all about sailing, so your explanations were fresh territory for me and very interesting. I am perplexed about one thing though, where are the chart notions indicating "here there be monsters?"
Monsters are assumed!
Seems legit
Moose, I haven’t read through all the comments but if weather is overall ideal as to your planning, how long will it take you to get from St.Thomas to the point of entry that you have shown on this video in Florida? I find this all very interesting given for I have no knowledge of sailing. Thank you for allowing us to join in on your course of planning on your upcoming adventure.
If I do 100 miles a day, then 11 days but that usually a bit optimistic
Hello Moose. I have often wondered how a person gets any good sleep while sailing solo. I know there are wind alarms and such, but Id be constantly wanting to scan the horizon for larger ships. Im guessing thirty minutes to an hour at a time is all you would get?
It will be exhausting, especially in the Old Bahama Channel
😳🫣
One option is a device known as AIS, this is a device that is required on all commercial vessels (ships, fishing boats, etc). AIS will show location of vessels in the area and will also sound an alarm if they are close. I have AIS, although I am not a commercial vessel, it is optional for pleasure craft.
