I don't have one of those, but I have a lot of the other Kuru Togas. It seems to me that the only Kuru Togas to have the Advance mechanism are the Advance and Advance Upgrade. The Advance mechanism is also symbolized by the Kuru Toga logo with a "fast forward" under it on the packaging. Since this one only had the standard KT logo, it shouldn't be an advance.
From looking around the internet, it would appear that this does in fact use the standard kuru toga mechanism, a rotation every 40 presses, rather than 20 as on the advance mechanism.

Can you review the Nicpro Artist Pencil? I have seen other pencils from Nicpro being reviews by different people, but not this one specifically. I have this pencil and think that for the price its great but I want to see the option of an enthusiast. A full metal body, brass clutch and a sturdy clip. (for context, there is no real name for this pencil but it has some distinct features. The front cap thingy is tapered outwards and screws to the inside of the metal body, has knurled grips and the metal cap for the eraser flares out at the very end to fit inside of the pencil)
I usually point my Android phone's camera at a Japanese package and it will translate some words. Try your phone. Not sure it works with the fruit phone.
Your reviews are very informative, well done, and greatly appreciated. I bought a Kuru Toga some months ago, from Staples. It was my favorite pencil, until it inexplicably snapped, right where the end of the barrel meets the silver colored plastic housing where the lead emerges. I have never, ever experienced this with a drawing/writing instrument before. And that was when I thought 9 bucks was a lot of money for a mechanical pencil. It is now useless, as its lack of metal parts does not even make it an adequate paper weight. I will never buy another Kuru, nor another Graph Gear. I find the far more expensive Rotrings to be worth the expense in the long run. I have two 600s, and am awaiting the delivery of a Rapid Pro. The poor cannot afford to buy cheap things.

I recently purchased this exact pencil in blue. I like the Kuru toga in a muted, comfortable body with the option to turn Kuru Toga mode off.
Does it rattle loudly when using it on kuru toga mode?

Mine operates twice as fast as the roulette, so I believe that would make it the advanced mechanism.
