    To clean hacked WordPress sites is not difficult once you know the steps.First, call the host to get your site unsuspended. Next, backup all your site files (yes, the compromised files). Then, replace the core files with freshly downloaded WordPress files. After that, replace all of the plugins with fresh copies. Then check folders for suspicious files.

    After running around like a maniac for 2 days.
    Using only this video and some googling;

      That's awesome! I'm happy I could help Roni. Do you mind me asking what you were looking for on Google? I may have to add it to the next version of this video.
      Thanks for watching!

    Hello Bjorn.
    Thanks for sharing a tutorial.My websites are hacked the same time and I have done backup all the files of one website and it is still hacked. Can it be hacked a database or other files which aren't located in folder of website and can it impact to my website?

    Hi Bjorn...great Video, given that I use automatic backup software is it just as easy to reoplace the site from a backup?

    • @wplearninglab
      @wplearninglab  6 років тому

      Hi John,
      It depends on the plugin. Some of them have "one-click restore" and others don't. If I were you I would try restoring your site at your earliest convenience to see if it's easy to do with your setup. It's better to try when it's not an emergency.

    Just woke up, need caffeine, and am on my phone at the moment, will watch this whole video in a while, good stuff from what I seen so far :D . I don't really have any issues at the moment, I keep my site simple and use very few plug ins, but my security scanning software (forget the name) finds deleteme with a bunch of numbers and letters after it files from time to time, not so often these days, but it warns that they are potentially malicious. I always just tell the security software to delete them and then it says my site is good to go. I use high sensitivity which it warns may create false positives. I googled that deleteme file stuff and I guess those files are common and not really something to worry about (so far I'm not worried, I just have them deleted) but thought I'd ask if you know of any issue I may have. Thanks!

      If you're deleting the files and nothing is breaking then they can't be that important. Files appearing on your server for no apparent reason doesn't sound good though. At least your security software is picking it up. From what you described it sounds like Wordfence. I'm a big fan of that one aside from it using lots of server resources.
      Wordfence is on my list of top plugins for 2018 which I'm releasing tutorials for in the coming weeks.

      Yeah, logged in now, wordfence is the main one I use, I even paid for premium which I don't think was necessary at al lol. I also have sucuri and ithemes but they don't really send me notices, I think you recommended them though so I added them. I did notice massive resources being used sometimes when I log in but I figured it's just wordfence doing it's thing since usually there's not much resources are being used. Looking forward to your wordfence videos!

      Hi Uma,
      I think you're referring to adsense ad code. I have a tutorial for that here: ua-cam.com/video/xH97ym4re6g/v-deo.html&index=19&list=PLlgSvQqMfii67RxpytZsj7f5HOnP9wjjv
      I hope that helps and thanks for watching!

    Has everybody a browser calle quarantine?

    • @wplearninglab
      @wplearninglab  4 роки тому

      Hi Raúl,
      Do you mean a folder called "quarantine"? Most hosts will put files they think may be unsafe in a folder called that or something similar.
