The body in the attic was the weird kidnapper guys mother, the one that was shouting in the very beginning and you murdered with the hammer you picked up. he dragged her up to the attic (that's why there was all those dried blood drag marks in the house). That's also why he agreed to do what your sister asked because he knew what it was like having a terrible mother and he probably thought he was doing good. That's also why he lost his cool and killed your mother here at the end, she reminds him of his mother. That smile at the end is to insinuate that he will end up like the weird guy. Interesting storyline indeed!

@@UnicornzRreal92nope most likely the boy just began his life as a psychopath and I’m willing to bet he became a serial killer and one of his first victims his sister it’s typical horror story crap and myself as a psychopath his fear of his mother turned to strength trying to escape this kidnappers also I believed he killed the man’s mother or wife earlier I don’t exactly know so he’s fully capable of killing and watching the man kill his mother out anger for confronting him the woman that made him constantly feel fear and afraid no doubt

Hey Eddie, the beginning scene was the Mister was he was a child and he killed his mother. So the letter you found was her admitting and in a way to apologizing for the abuse she put him through. The mister is mentally disabled, I believe his mental state is still in the state of the child hence why he wanted to play hide and seek. Like his body matured but not his brain.
So the mister wasn’t entirely harmless but he was someone who needed help.
And the reason why he killed the main characters mom was because when she touched him it made him think of his mother which he killed

For anyone who may be confused this is what I think the storyline is - the kidnapper guy is Sarao, the child we saw in the prologue sequence. He killed his mother because she was abusive. In his mind he was helping the kids by taking care of them since their mother wouldn't. That's why the sister was saying he "meant no harm". Pretty sure the body and blood from th attic was his mother. So the older sister found him first, had him track down the little brother (the scene where he found him playing with his friends), and kidnapped him too in hopes to finally get their mom to care 😢

It was most likely the Kidnapper as a child. He killed his mother(body in the attic, probably) who was like the kid's mom (personality-wise). When the kid's mom started yelling at him his trauma came back. He snapped and killed their mom.
@@SymmetricalOCD that's so sad considering the kidnapper was only listening to the kids and the way he's kinda childlike in the since he wants to play too and feels upset being left out I think he had some type of learning condition and the mom probably was in a abusive relationship or abandoned by the father or the father could have assaulted the mom to have him! That's so freaking sad dude my goodness
