As a woman, I really wanted to root for her, a female executive, who was making her way up in such a cut throat music industry. In spite of that, she, herself made it really hard for me to believe her, especially, after the conference.
I wonder...what if this whole thing is part of her plan, even? Perhaps, everything is going by her plan so far (even that attempt to breach plan was 'intentionally leaked'?) There was an evidence that MHJ instructed her employee to "Make all these look like 'part of casual conversations'"?? This was 'presented' by HYBE. Meanwhile, I never saw anything substantial 'PRESENTED' by MHJ regarding this 'serious' allegation. She ALWAYS conveniently deflect the main point and didn't even provided the direct answers.
How come? Isn't that the very thing you felt so unfairly framed about? She claimed herself as a direct person and passionate hearted person who only cared about reputation, not money. It just doesn't make sense - her words and her action do not match.
How did you even get to your position? It's a mystery. In fact, I think Bang pd was too soft for you and you took fullest advantage of it from the beginning, I bet.
The trust of breach, leaking personal infos of artists, sharing HYBE's private docs/info and all other allegations will be judged at the court soon, but one thing for sure, MHJ really 'damaged' these up coming, HYBE's young artists' future and mental health, I feel. And NJ members may not realize what kind of influence they are under since they are young, but 'damaging one' I must add. She always contradicted her own words during the conference and pretended someone who she is not. 'I don't care about money....I care about NJ so much...I made all these possible bc I didn't get any support from HYBE...."

Yes, NewJeans can voice to break their contract and carry the penalty fee. That fee can probably be paid by their new label if they do get signed again. They had overwhelming success in such a short time so I really hope that is the case.
Studies have proven that female employees all hits a glass ceiling when it comes towards to executive promotion. Being so publicly vocal about "common" corporate issues will reinforce that glass ceiling and make the misogynist think they are right. And seeing that most of these positions are occupied by middle-aged man, you can bet that they are going to make it harder for a woman to join the "Boys Club".
However, no matter the industry, I think that every high-level executive went through the same corporate politics BS that MHJ is describing but they decided to shut up and try to see the opportunities. She also has to compete with other CEO subsidiaries who are better at gaining favours from Hybe than her. For example, she mentioned Source Music CEO. Well I have been following Kpop since 2nd gen so I remember when Source was a 10-person company with no practice room and the CEO was running everywhere for loans to support Gfriend. Same for Pledis entertainment with Afterschool. So she is surrounded with people that knows how to make connections since they had to start from nothing compared to her. And now she is crying in public because they are the ones gaining the favours she wants.
I've learned in the past many times that people can be manipulative in many ways and I don't have much sympathy for criminals if they are found guilty!

Apparently, all the images and narratives found on twitter were badly mistranslated by some international fans/geniuses who want to get ahead of what’s happening right now.
There’s a Korean who a neutral about the situation and translated all the BS and it actually makes more sense. He also mentioned that people shouldn’t take the situation in a wide perspective because Korean culture is different.
He translated the first conference MHJ held in which she shows some of her convo with Hybe’s founder about the roots of the drama.
1. At SM, Lee Soo-man (SM’s founder) initially opposed MHJ’s resignation. But overtime, difference in direction between SM and her led to a separation. (different vision, I guess)
2. After MHJ’s resignation from SM, Bang Si-hyuk (Hybe’s founder) requested a meeting with her to apparently, recruit her.
3. They met and agreed to work together- he asked if they could step on (compete with) AESPA (here she found that they are actually not on the same page because that’s not what MHJ want and not to step on someone’s hard work.
4. Among the existing members at Source Music, the one who could work together with her was Minji (her compliments towards Minji were misunderstood/mistranslated btw). The reason she was chosen by Source music is because Bang suggested picking trainees from Source.
5. So they auditioned additional members for N-team (their name before coming up with NewJeans), but at the time of audition, due to the nature of the entertainment industry, they needed the names of previously successful singers, producers, or agencies to attract trainee applicants. Therefore, the current NJ members were gathered under the title as the first group from HYBE.
6. Suddenly, without any prior notice, there was a debut announcement for Le Sserafim from HYBE. Bang recruited MHJ to make a first HYBE Girl group and then they suddenly announced this?
7. MHJ became furious because she promoted this N-Team as the first GG of HYBE. Their debut fell through contrary to the agreement.
8. Amid her frustration, HYBE suggested debuting NJ as just another Source Music GG without sharing any additional plans.
9. Consequently, when NJ’s debut indefinitely postponed, she made ADOR using HYBE’s money to save NJ and debut them.
10. HYBE requested not to promote NewJeans to not harm LSF’s debut.
11. Despite NJ’s achieving success, Bang Si-hyuk isn’t amused and texted if MHJ is enjoying the success of NJ despite previously not congratulating or contacting her. This came off as insincere but rather sarcastic.
12. Just before the press conference that happened lately, HYBE engaged in media manipulation, alleging that MHJ had consulted a shaman about BTS-related manners. This was untrue which she said. She simply discussed with an acquaintance whether BTS would go to the military considering NJ’s success on the timing of their success. She said that if Shaman can control BTS’ enlistment, why don’t everybody in SoKor ask a shaman to make them don’t go to military?
13. Originally, there was a contractual relationship where ownership rights were meaningless, but due to confidentiality obligations, separate disclosure wasn’t possible to reveal at the press conference.
14. Her lawyer stated that she only holds 18% share in ADOR and emphasized that this alone makes it impossible for here to seize control of management rights.
After all these successful music, MVs, collaborations and sponsors. I thought newjeans were HYBE’s princesses. Turns out they were actually just Cinderella.

@@spongegarxz I didn't watch the one who translated the video but I got all the points you mentioned from reading and watching other translations. This is no quantum physics and most Asian cultures have similar ways of looking at things compared to the West. So, I didn't have much problem seeing what she was trying to say and do. The point however is whether what she is saying can be taken at face value? For example, when she implies she is not someone who wants to beat another group, UNLIKE THE "mean-minded" Bang-shi-Hyuk, should we be melting in our compassion for her just because she said that in a supposedly "unfiltered, raw" manner, reflected in her "very spontaneous" unhinged uses of abusive language against the HYBE executives? (Mind you she is known to be talented for creating perceptions and images about idols). She very conveniently showed the excerpt that made her look good and made Bang look bad although beating another group on the charts isn't something that companies don't talk about in general (Not justifying it in any way because I personally believe that true music gets trampled in the race for profit and Bang's language and choice of words were not pretty at all). However, we should also consider why Bang mentioned that group under SM, the company Min Hee Jin left to work under HYBE. We never know what the whole conversation was about because she never showed it to us. These are just mere speculations just like the speculation that she actually committed a breach of trust. But we need to consider them to truly stay neutral. Also, it is one thing to wish one's group to success and another to go out of the way to ask a shaman whether the most popular group would be out of the way for her group to succeed. I do not understand how so many Koreans just ignore something like this just because she managed to "put on a show" and influence your emotions when it clearly shows her intention, which is one of the root causes of this mess as Jino mentioned: She was just obsessed with her group to the point that she stopped being flexible which is required of any label working under a company because the company would look out for all groups and not just her group. When you accuse Bang PD of talking about "crushing" Aespa on charts, aren't you doing the same by asking a shaman "to send BTS to the military" at the peak of their career? It is the intention that matters and she can be accused of the same "crime" she is accusing Bang PD of. Only using a little intelligence can help us be truly objective. HYBE is also equally responsible for creating this mess, for not dealing with her as they should have and for giving her the false impression of the position she would have in the company as a result of which she felt betrayed when she didn't get what she wanted. Also, if the allegations against her are false, they really did her bad by framing her that way. However much difficult she might have been to deal with, there definitely were alternative ways to handle their relationship to her instead of putting legal cases on her, especially if they did not have solid evidence against her. However, as you said, I think it is important to stay neutral at this point instead of taking sides because we know both sides can be held responsible for this mess.

The conclusion i can take from the conflict is how amazing bts members personality is,they take what they can and given,even when its bellow what they deserve,they gracefully and gratefully accept it,always given credit to everything and everyone when its due,and dont make fuss about it to be a nuisance and inconvenience for others,people can take advantage and leech off them all they can but they dont decrease their value as an amazing human being,they know what their value is as an artis and care more about their music and performance,and the people that they love and actually love them too..

ARMYs are fans of BTS so the group's part of our "mental catalogue" and taste. If we were talking about a female rapper, as the lead artist of a song, maybe I'd compare it to G-IDLE's "Uh Oh" if it made sense. When RM drops his next album I might get glimpses of alternative British bands in it or the indie Korean bands Joon likes because i'm familiar with those bands and it's my taste. Im a huge fan of nwj. But i think the songs not for me.
jenny's vocals is underwhelming. don't like what she does to her voice when she sings, there's too much vocal breaks that why it sounds forced and she has sounded like this ever since even in songs that doesn't have to sound this way. she's not like rihanna, incomparable, rihanna's on a different level. I hope she would explore other vocal techniques.
