Irish Gothic - another genre I had no idea of how desperately I wanted to see. Thanks A24.
Martin McDonagh’s new movie has similar vibes too
@@katiedoyle819 you´re absolutely right!
Rural gothic.
@@rubendacostaesilva8442 like it ^^
Check out Calvary if you want a nice quiet rural Irish film too - really enjoyed it
A24 Will always receive my time and energy because it’s a movie studio that’s not afraid to take risks and do things.
Rather than most studios nowadays sticking to what the formula or what the chart says A24 Takes risks does things different Not every film is gonna be a blockbuster in so my missed completely but they’re still gonna be good and something different.
They're mainly a distributor. They buy most of their titles after they're made and screened in festivals. That's how a lot of indy films get distribution.
@@Brandon-sx1np even still, they distribute the RIGHT movies that have made the A24 brand a trusted name in cinema…and that gives independent films/filmmakers the opportunity to create great art without much of the bureaucracy of the studios while still getting attention they would normally not receive.
@@fadethechannel I completely agree. I was just stating they're not a studio lol
I agree with you about A24. They have an eye for the special. Was just curious which movies you thought were misses that there name is behind.
They are really one of a kind... They managed to get a woman who is scared AF of horror ( to be interested) in all there films lol 😂
Ps. I'm not afraid anymore you guys but it took about 15yrs to get to this point 🤣
Great to see a resurgence in the Irish film making industry. Love Emily Watson, she nails our accent.
@@jackbarton7479 that is what they meant lmfao
@Rock girl Críost uilechumhachtach. 😒
@@kg7219 There's plenty don't nail it.
Emily Watson is one of the greatest actors of all time. "Breaking the Waves" is just heartbreaking. She should've won the Oscar that year. Thanks again to A24 for keeping cinema alive.
I love Emily in Breaking The Waves unfortunately she was up against Frances McDormand in Fargo which was a massive hard competition
I agree.
@@15Candles right? But hey, given McDormand ended up winning 3 other Oscars, I'm more than likely to give it to Watson that year, with William H
Macy winning instead.
All FACTS. She is a legend.
A24 isn't a studio they're a film distributor company but they choose well thats for sure
Paul Mescal was excellent in Normal People. I'm 100% sure he's Hollywood's new talent in the future. Hoping he gets more fantastic roles because he's very talented and easily one of the most promising young actors working today
Yes he was so good in normal people,
Agree. Paul is great because his empathy and understanding of emotions translate so well onto the screen. He really shines in indie films because of the nuance in the roles he can play. I think Paul will take Hollywood films to a deeper emotional level if he chooses to act in bigger films.
Yess.. Paul. Also Daisy is in Where the Crawdafs sing..
U guus should check it out on bluray
Normal People was awful, not even about normal people..
Hopefully not the Hollywood route but I hope he sticks to doing films like this.
And yes, i will agree with everybody and even the comments in the trailer, Emily Watson is stunning, her work is always so personal and dedicated, you can truly see a character in her acting each time you saw her on screen, is incredible!
Emma Watson sucks
Have you seen Breaking The Waves? She was incredible in that. I live on the Isle of Skye where a good part of it was filmed and she even nailed the accent!
Calm down mate…
@@anorkhil7158 how low vibed & immature are you 🙄 I apologise if you're 12 years old
Yeah I just wish that when people referred to women (often men) you referred to her as being talented funny smart or a good actress but instead you just said stunning 🤷🏽♀️
A24 is seriously becoming it's own subgenre - artistic freedom/unique idea's given more mainstream budgets/releases...they have one of the most consistent records of any Studio in the last decade imo
So much agree. I don't even look at/for blockbusters anymore. I just look for A24, and certain directors. So many movies today are such garbage. But A24 has yet to truly disappoint.
@@vhayne91777 Youre being bias lol. A24 has disappointed in many of their distributions
@@curto201 All of them are unique though and aren't punching for the masses. I'd take literally ANY A24 film over marvel dogshit and fast and furious
@@curto201 I would rather have a bad movie that is unique than every movie just being a level of marketable mediaorce
They're a breath of fresh air in a world domined by mindless superheroes movies.
A24 know how to trailer.
Thanks…lots of work
You ain’t Wrong😅
If it is from A24 I will take a chance on it. So many more hits than misses 🎃
Does A24 have a miss?
@@zachcouch8654 Loads they just all flop so you never hear about them. Still a better ratio of great to bad films than most studios/distributors though.
@@juicybutterriblydrab laggies or barely leathel is probably the worst ones Ive seen. They were BAD films
@@zachcouch8654 not really I just like some more than others 🎃 at worst I get movies with a different take
@@Ryan-tn4gk I would their worst would have to be The Bling Ring.
I just dont have any words to thank A24 for the way the are, they'll be truly remembered over time, in both history, and in my heart! The Studio is awesome.
Yes, Aisling Franciosi, slay! I loved her in "The Nightingale", I hope she gets the recognition she deserves.
She's my biggest crush! I just find her so pretty and smart, not to mention that all of her characters have some mysterious edge to them.
Have you seen her in the series The Fall? Absolutely fantastic. Her + the series itself
The Nightingale was a rough watch, took awhile to recover from that one 😓
Not a fan.
I also saw that and agree with you
A24 is one of the best things to happen to cinema in YEARS AND YEARS. Thank you for keeping the flame burning!
Factz
Always been great filmmakers. A24 is just a name
I just love Emiliy Watson acting, always with such depth, always showing how much her characters are going through deep inside. Her eres and use of silence are quite expressive. Hope she gets all the recognition she deserves.
I know the fact that she's an Oscar nominee and a senior but man, I still found her extremely underrated. She's absolutely breathtaking
Saw the premiere at Cannes, one of the best movies this year I’m telling you. I also met Emily Watson 😭
I hope it does well at the box office cuz that's the only way the Oscars will take notice of it!
For real?
@@recaprecap99 yes! My roommates and I talked to her for a bit about her involvement in the film, it’s a blur now cause I couldn’t believe it. But yeah! Emily Watson deserves a nom this year, idk I feel like there should be more hype than there is for it, but I’ll let people make up their own minds
@@abdimalik. 😳🙌
emily watson thanks
Paul Mescal is one of my favorite up and coming actors! Really looking forward to this one
Emily Watson is an absolute treasure... and she deserves to be an Academy Award _Winner_ one of these days! Had she not been up against Frances McDormand's performance in "Fargo" she'd have won for "Breaking The Waves".
I haven’t seen “Breaking the Waves” but having seen “Fargo” last year for the first time, I have no idea why Frances won an Oscar for that movie if I’m being honest.
@@MegaUtube99 Absolutely and she was only in what felt like half of that film.
My dudes, Emily is amazing, but McDormand as Marge Gunderson is a god damn masterpiece of trope inversion and one of the defining characters of the 1990's. Watch Fargo again, please.
Aisling was SOOOOO good in The Nightingale, super excited for this
A24 is my standard for modern day cinema. LOVE this production company.
Emily Watsons performance in Breaking the Waves is one of the best
Delighted to see an Irish film getting this sort of attention. Would love to see Ruth Negga using her native accent in a film like this.
Aisling Franciosi completely blew me away in The Nightingale and Emily Watson is always great. This should be interesting...
A24 never ceases to amaze me with how they can so casually grab my attention. They really are one of the few studios/companies actually making real films. Every film I’ve seen from them has an absurd amount of love and talent in it to some high capacity. Its so inspiring for me as an artist to the point where they get me wanting to dive into filmmaking, pursue cinematography, so on and so forth. They just breathe a creative air in all they publish and i love it. Its genuinely nuts.
"Real film" The arthouse douche levels are nauseating.
Agreed 100%
It's insanely refreshing with the current overall attitude in cinema. I haven't necessarily liked every single movie A24 puts out either
@@PGBbuckeye same, I’ve seen movies trailers they put out that I end up not seeing cuz it probably didn’t interest me as much but I always stop and look at whatever they got when it pops up.
I hate how the attitude of cinema is now, everything feels like pandering or just desperate fishing for cash cows.
Speaking of A24, I just watched "Men" and trying to see what others thought of it.
@@mostlyknowasmka9729 I actually haven’t seen it yet but I really want to. Is it available in theaters or to be rented/bought yet?
Emily Watson is one of the most underrated and impeccable actors of all time. Can’t wait for this. A24 delivering as always.
I agree. She has come very far since the first Harry Potter film.
@@oct22022 😂🤣
Holy hell this looks good. Super pumped for yet another A24 release 🤧
PUMP IT HARDER ERWIN
A24 and Blumehouse are always gonna be on my watch list
I loved Paul Mescal in 'Normal People', this looks very interesting and suspenseful. I hope it's not as underwhelming as other A24 films 'Lamb' and 'Men'.
lamb was phenomenal wydm
it was meant to be slow and have little dialouge if thats what your referring to
@@Sam_ijbol People don't have to like the same stuff. It was phenomenal for you but underwhelming for me. Entertainment is subjective.
@@deepalall647 true ig
I can’t express how much I love A24.
Everything a24 touches turns to gold!
New A24 films always get me super excited. This looks very good. Can’t wait.
Cool to see A24 picking up movies from my country
Emily Watson is one of those actors who are criminally underrated, has ability to become a character, she's not actress who's playing the character. Very few have actors have that quality. Same thing can be said about legendary Toni Collette.
Now this is a fantastic trailer. Miss feeling this way about movies.
Aisling Franciosi is brilliant. And I appreciate A24's no cookie cutter nonsense - very original and refreshing.
Idk. I love A24 but this is like the 15th movie they’ve made that’s a mysterious drama that takes place in the English countryside 😂
@@CrodolookslikeFrody Irish*
@@fernando.tomina Ireland is in the uk
@@CrodolookslikeFrody That`s what those bastards want you to believe.
this is a cookie cutter, since 2017.
Took me a sec to remember Aisling Franciosi from The Nightingale is in this. Looks like a solid drama. Can't wait.
Great to see a production like this come to Co Donegal to film. Looking forward to seeing it
Emily Watson is one of the only non Irish Actresses/Actors who can do an Irish accent pretty convincingly and reasonably.
This trailer is giving ‘Meryl street/Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Doubt’. I love movies where you don’t know if the person is actually a perpetrator or not. Bonus point of at the end if it goes completely haywire at the end like Hugh jackman’a Prisoners
Insane how A24 manages to make these all so compelling
Here we go again!!!!
This music in this film should be nominated for an Oscar.
So glad to see Emily Watson being given an interesting role again. She's easily one of the best actresses of her generation, but is usually relegated to playing "mum" in kids films.
Have you seen her as Ulana Khomyuk in HBO's Chernobyl? Not only is the series itself just amazing but also she's really good in it and also she reunited with Stellan Skarsgård after working with him in Breaking The Waves.
@@perenniallachrymosity276 No I haven't had the opportunity to watch that series yet, but knowing she's in it has certainly made it more likely that I will in the future.
Such an amazing looking cast involved with this A24 movie! Very much looking foward to watching it!
A24, giving film lovers hope during these shit-movies times
Get a Mubi, and Criterion subscription. There's a hell of a lot of great movies out there.
Im loving this wave of new movies from A24
I fell in love with Emily Watson when she played Frankie McCourt's mom. I will definitely be watching this!
All the A24 movies have a really nice tone to it.
I don’t even have to watch the trailer. A24 always makes bangers
A24, please never change, you are a true gift!
Had to turn on the subtitles for this one.
I've never been more in love with a movie studio or producer or whatever they are. than i am with A24. I've enjoyed almost every single move in the past 2 or 3 years.
Reminds me of the episode of black mirror with the insurance lady who uses this machine to watch memories, it seems dystopian yet grounded by whatever tragedy or chaotic situation is just brewing and expanding. I love it
This one looks promising, if Aisling Franciosi is apart of it count me in, The Nightingale is a masterpiece.
Much love to you, A24! Much love!!!
I’m still emotionally reeling from Normal People. Paul mescal has a chokehold on me that I haven’t felt in years.
A24 KEEPING TRUE CINEMA ALIVE
your trailers’ music are just amazing
Any idea about the name of the background music?
Even without much screams or hues, Emily Watson still proving- its time for an Oscar. Intense!
Emily Watson has ALWAYS been on of my FAVORITE actresses!
As soon as I saw Emily Watson I know its gonna be good.
NOBODY can cut a trailer like A24 - always enough to get me intrigued but also so that i have NO idea what its really about and unlike most trailers, i havent had literally half the movie spoiled!
A24 has been killing it this year
Wonderful, suspenseful. Great job, Anna Holmer!
Emily Watson is a terrific actor and this movie looks fabulous
This looks awesome! Love Emily Watson. She is brilliant in everything.
This reminds me of Midnight Mass. Will certainly see it 😍♥
Emily Watson is incapable of a bad performance. She is mesmerising in everything she does.
the colors are to die for!
Think of this as a secret sequel to Breaking the Waves
A24 at it again, looking foward to seeing this one
A24 always bringing up something different. A fresh narrative.
Wow, this movie looks chilling, A24 just keeps making great quality movies.
That "here I am " song cover hits deep
glad to see paul mescal in a24 movies!
This looks so amazing! And Intense! I can’t wait to see it! So proud of Anna Rose Holmer! 💜Tanya
cinematography ❤️
Emily Watson and Paul Mescal💕
A24 just doesn't miss. I watch everything they release!
Doesn't.... miss? Lol, okay.
Love that they’re oyster farmers. Dope vibe
What acoustics !!
A24 so you know the cinematography is just going to be beautiful!
A24 the reason why cinema can still be considered an artform
I don't know why, I'm so excited just by seeing this trailer. I'm hooked.
Wow, never miss anything with Emily Watson in it.
Love A24 films | 🎬😍🔥 So excited
Paul is such a great actor this trailer is making me lose it already
Emily Watson is an extremely underrated actress. I'd be watching this film.
I always feel thrilled when you guys release movies, I've watched a handful of your horror & psychological films and for me, never disappoints 💖🖤 Like it looks all ordinary in the surface but nope, such twists I delve in further.
Oh look, another banger form A24. Best studio in Hollywood. No reliance on building for sequels, no nostalgia baiting, no digging up dead franchises of the past. Just a studio doing what a studio should, believing in the vision of their directors and making wonderful original content.
Psychedelic musical score = A24
A24 has been on a roll. I don't know who is where doing what but whatever it is you guys are doing: don't stop!
I love the atmosphere. Can't wait to watch this movie, looks great!
The cinematography is absolutely bone chilling.
keen to check this out.
This looks PHENOMENAL, also it’s based in a small Irish fishing town (the same as where I live in Ireland on the coast) and PAUL MESCAL 😍
A24 is serving us nothing but MASTERPIECE after MASTERPIECE. Thank you❤
Everything about this looks great. Plus A24 makes such killer trailers
I'm here just for the cast alone.
Is that...Aisling Francoisi? Lord how happy I am to see her again!
Emily Watson is amazing..
Reminds me of lamb.. IT has that same Vibe n look
Dude this trailer was phenomenal. Wow.
This looks excellent! Very excited 😊
