Apologies for the background noises being accentuated during recording. I had an external mic setup but it was not engaging unbeknownst to me. Hopefully, I will do better next time. After watching the video, feel free to share how you feel about the increasing food prices in Trinidad and Tobago. Do you feel some supermarkets and groceries charge ridiculous prices?

Great video. Food prices have skyrocketed all across the globe, and salaries remain the same. That supermarket where you filmed was well-stocked and the isles are spacious. As you've stated, one must shop smart. Some might say that checking different supermarkets for bargains might be tedious, but it can help a great deal.

if you have a vehicle to drive around carrying goods from one location to another that will make sense. but for many on the lower income strata who travels that wont be feasible. one of the flaws of the theory of perfect competition.

Hi JB, I'm in Trinidad right now. Yes the prices in the grocery is high, and when you buy food at restaurants the prices are high. But I also think that the prices in the U.S. has raised a lot since Covid and never went back down. P.S. love to see a supermarket with wide aisle and clean.

Amazing I would say. I felt like I was watching an American supermarket. Yes, the prices are atrocious but I imagine that most of the imported stuff comes from the USA. I am looking forward to seeing this particular video. I left TnT FIFTY YEARS AGO for 'GREENER and MORE ACCOMODATING PASTURES'. Back then the US Dollar was worth $1.80 in TT Dollars. Today the TT Dollar is just about WORTHLESS - like Monopoly Money. So I can only begin to imagine the detrimental effect this must be having on the cost of both imported and domestic goods, especially food which seems to be very volatile in its price stability. I will be waiting and watching JB! Thank You my friend.

Glad you are looking forward to it. Yes, prices are very high. The supermarket I am in is one of the few that try to be as reasonable as possible. Even so, the salaries do not match the cost of living. I know some will try to calculate in US$ what an item cost and say it is a 'normal' price but I hope they know that salaries here are 75% LESS than the US so the cost of living is higher.

Is this a whole sale super market JB? It reminds me of a super market we have in New York called BJ's wholesale super market. And yes food prices in America has gone up too. That's why most people in America are relying on food stamps. I am not ashamed JB. but guess what? it helps. Maybe some time in the near future Trinidad and Tobago might be thinking along those lines. JB are the super markets back home charging customers for plastic or paper bags? I know in most countries the trend has already begun. The cost of living has gone up in most countries. Again many thanks.🇹🇹
