Funny story, my parents actually saw this delivery truck that was parked in front of their house for like 2 hours. When they went up to it, it was slightly rocking back and forth, so they went back inside and called the police. The police busted the door open and it turns out the driver had accidentally locked himself in the back of the van and was rocking it back and forth to get someone's attention to let him out.

Like the bump moves the pins and the turning is to rotate the cylinder when they get in the right position. So even it the air pressure from the ball could move the pins without the turning they'd just go back to the original position. You don't just put a key in the lock, you have to turn it to unlock it. And there's absolutely no way the air from a tennis ball would both move the pins into the correct position and turn the lock in the direction it needs to at the same time.

Knocking on the window when the woman, policeman, or thief had come by would have worked. Sound proof doesn’t matter because the polarized glass would still have to vibrate, as all physical objects do when force is applied, creating sound. I could write an essay on how stupid this movie is, but instead I'll just point out the fact that the good doctor had NO WAY of making sure the robber would have a phone that's out of battery. And all his work on the car would have been for nothing as the robber would just call a friend and get the car opened. 99.9999% of the time the robber would have more than enough battery on his phone to call someone. So the doctor would have to wait for a few decades until he accidentally catches a robber that's out of battery.

Being locked in somewhere is the worst thing.
A few weeks back, I was working at the bar at work and went into the store cupboard behind the bar. The door had one of those things at the top that closes the door automatically, it wouldnt have been an issue if there was a handle on my side. The bit on my side was just a flat metal plate, no handle or doorknob and there wasnt any button inside the room to release the door locking mechanism electronically. I found this perforated 90* angle of metal and tried using that to pry the door open but i couldn't do it without completely destroying the door frame (Cause it's where I work, I obviously didn't want to do that). Also, in the bar (On the other side of the wall), some live band was playing super loud with hardly any pauses between songs (They just faded from one song to the next) and I didnt have my phone to message anyone/call reception.
I basically got stuck in there for like 20 mins and had to wait for a small break in the music before banging on the wall really loud and getting one of the guys also working on the bar to open the door from the other side. To this day, people haven't stopped talking about it, I don't think they ever will 😂

If the car owner would have handed over the thief to the cops it would be a great decision but instead, he tortured him how awful. The officials have the decision to give him the punishment for what he has done after all the observations. Torture is an awful thing!! Ask the people who suffered torturing, and one more thing it doesn't even mean that if a thief gets tortured that has happened good to him made him realise no-no torture is torture it doesn't matter if it is suffered by a bad person or a good person its a humanity less awful thing to do someone! And one more thing the fact that the car owner was a doctor it was very shameful to see because doctors save lives cure people give them hope to live they dont torture people!!! This is completely impossible to believe. I worked in cars for some years and I just can't. If you push your windshield or back window hard enough, it will eventually detach and break. If you are able to dismantle the door, you can access to the window and the outer shield, which isn't thick enough to resist a good stab with a screwdriver. Also if you are able to grab the door window by the bottom with pliers, it will shatter as well.

      Firefighter here:
      1) If you're gonna break a window, I'd put my money on the rear window because it's the biggest one that you actually have a shot at breaking (Windshields are a LOT more durable than the other windows, when we have to to get someone out of a crashed car we use specialized tools to cut them, every other window is literally just "Take a sharp and/or hard thing and jam it into the window as hard as you can" (Like you can break a car-window with a screwdriver by just grabbing the screwdriver and ramming it into the window))
      2) If you need to break a car window from the inside, grab your seatbelt one handwidth away fron the belt buckler and flail the buckler against the window, that should do it

If he did that we wouldn't have a movie. He'd burst it open and get away. Nothing changes he won't go through a transformative moment that could make or break him. Even though he is a car thief and like it or not he is the Protagonist of the story [(Meaning he drives the story forward. A Protagonist doesn't have to be good.)] He is our viewpoint character. And usually a Protagonist of a story has to have a moment where they hit a crossroad. The crossroad changes a character. He'd have to decide if his expirence will put him on the path to redemption or will he double down and continue to rebel. He shoots the hole in the car and escapes it would be a minor inconvenience for him. Now the story could've went a different way where he hunts the guy down who locked him up and made him as helpless as he does when he commits crimes. That would put him on the road to redemption depending on actions he takes. He would also have to come to another crossroad when he meets the guy who locked him in the car.
