Hello @SaltwaterAquarium I have a question I have purchased 2 vertical water storage tanks brand new. How would you recommend to clean them out before use??? Im afraid there is mold release agent and just dust or dirt. I heard bleach, distilled vinegar none antibacterial dish soap? Thank you so much in advance
Hello Mark; I now live in San Antonio Tx, since 2019 and have gone through the heat waves nad the latest July/August very hot days of >100 degree weather. Our home is in one of those Texas sub divisions, and I know how hot those garages can get >80 on some days…. However we do have a laundry room and 2nd bathroom close by the garage, so with that in mind, what type of fitting can I use to hook up my RODI feed lines to my unit? I’m also a first time Reefer, deciding to get back intot he hobby, since 2000….
Can't wait for this to expand to actual info. This was a common sense video. Essentially it said "you need 2 reservoirs and your rodi waste water can serve other purposes." He forgot to mention you need salt to 😉. When it said "building a mixing station," I wasn't expecting alternatives to watering the lawn. Btw, 10 min. vids get monetized better on UA-cam. Plus they may contain some better info 😋.
Thanks for the heads up. We aren't trying to monetize videos, just educate the customer base and share information. We have plenty planned for future episodes.
How do you add salt ? I would like to see how do you add salt because every time I mix a patch, the salt get accumulated in the walls and get brown and I don’t know if its safe of not Also I don’t see an easy access for you to add salt on you mixing station
adding salt is easy you do how ever need reef salt form your petfish shop not table salt from the supermarket. you neet RODY water a scoop for your salt and a refractometer. the refractometer needs calibrating so do this with out salt put a few drops on the blue glass on the RF meter and look true it set the wite part on zero and make sure it stays that way! Now ad a few cups of salt and wait untill the sals is desolved then put a few drops on the FR like before and look the salinity needs to be at 35 no lore no less. if its under ad salt if its over ad water. the mix needs about 24 hours to be save for fish to swim in. measure your tank water 2 times per wheek if the salinity goes up just ad saltless RODI water NO SALT salt wont evaporate like water so if you ad salt the salinity goe's up.
0:56 Lol...you have the best t-shirts! 😁
Very very good video!!
Daily vids! Can't wait 😎
Not exactly daily but we are stepping up our game on content and education!

Someone please tell me what grey fitting that is on the water holding container looks like a bulkhead.
Remember Mark , Its also nice to have some fresh RODI water on hand for the upcoming Apocalypse . I've already maxed out my credit cards
You're missing a kitchen scale! I find that to be one of the best ways to get the amount of salt perfect for the tank.
No doubt, they do come by for water...
Ha Ha sounds like first hand knowledge?

any one use the brute bins by chance? i really wanna do a mixing station but its 300 dollars shipping cost for a 55 vertical storage container.
wish I had the room for a mixing station for a auto water change. but there is absolutely no place to put one. sad :(
Mark did a build one time where the mixing station was under the tank beside the sump, super cool
There was zero info on this...just a short video showing where you can put it, zero info on what youl need to build one....
Reeferbuild yes this is the series introduction, much much more to follow
