You were very effective at creating a mood that evokes the Tchaikovsky movement, yet it was very original. I find it interesting that you composed the piece to play to the strengths of your notation programs capabilities. The addition of a high-quality, third-party reverb was very effective.

Thank you! The investigation regarding MuseScore's playback engine was the initial thing that got me going on this, but once I got started on the music, it was of course all about the music and trying to capture that mood (without copying blindly). So thank you for your kind words, and I'm happy that you feel I managed to capture that mood.

Impressive work, interesting how you seemingly circle around the same material but still keep it surprising and exciting. And outstanding Musescore output! Did you add some Musescore onboard efx in the mix and master environment?

      Thanks Jeff!
I started this just to see what I could do with Musescore (which I had only dabbled with before, but never could get my existing music to sound good with), since others seemed to have such great results. To make it work, I chose to write the kind of music that I thought it could handle well, this sort of orchestral music without a lot of soloistic lines or quick articulation changes. And I always wanted to write something like Tchaikovsky's Danse Arabe! For me one thing that keeps it interesting is to use hemiola and layered rhythms ( I have 4/4 phrases on top of 3/4 in a few of the main sections, and some quarter note triplets near the end that eventually meet up to another climax point).
The one big change was that I switched the reverb from musescore's to cinematic rooms. Other than that, I did a bit of panning. I don't know of any other Musescore effects, I'm a noob at that software!
