I think the biggest misconception that people have when trying to do a solo flawless is that they think they have to be extremely fast and extremely efficient. When there's no wipe time gated wipe mechanic, you have all the time in the world. Do a 7 phase if you need to. Great Video man!
for me though, the longer you are in an encounter I get exhausted from the constant need for concentration. The fact you can just wait at main boss DPS on final encounter is amazing!! He is so right in that you can just have a break, get a drink, go to the bathroom, exc. is so underrated.
This dungeon really doesn't need "optimal dps phases" since mechanics are really straight forward, no symbols or stuff like that. You can just play the way you feel the most confident
Couldn't be more true. The only way i'm able to do these solo runs is if i'm slow and careful. But being slow and careful means that by the time I get to the final boss, i'm absolutely exhausted and make stupid mistakes.@@atomfusion231

Love your content. Your original Invis Hunter build video helped me get into harder content like raids and dungeons. Your explanations are easily to follow and thorough. It’s made Destiny for me a much more enriching experience.
The fact that you can do this and talk through it in detail, while pointing things out in-game is so impressive. Would love to see a warlock run like this, but I'm sure most of the principals apply. Love the videos!
This has been VERY insightful for both my future solo attempt as well as future runs. The additional info and strategies for the final boss will absolutely go to use!
Just want to say these videos have definitely helped me be a better player! Playing with the same folks, I found myself kind of leaning on them as a crutch. So I am going to challenge myself with solo dungeons to get better as an individual. Thanks Mac, your videos always help me regain confidence. Keep it up!
Just did my first solo completion. That void lucky pants build with malfeasance absolutely is the way to go. I did powerful attraction instead of time dilation for survivability with all the orbs I was generating. Great content!
You can skip the entire prison break portion by pressing yourself into the corner and finishing the scorn that comes by. With teammates it makes you get "joining allies" but you can do it solo.
Thanks for the great guide, @MacticsG1! I did the solo flawless yesterday. I only changed my loadout for the second boss… used the new craftable strand fusion rifle and dragon’s breath, but I kept everything else.

Great video! You made this look so simple. Love your content. One thing I might want to add is that when you're switching between your saved loadouts, make sure both loadouts have the same fragments and aspects so that you don't lose all abilities when you switch.
I feel like this might be easier, but the only way I was good with clearing the first boss solo on hunter was Solar assassin's cowl with fan knife. Everything goes boom, plus heal, res, and invis. Thanks for the help with the spawns and stuff
Dungeon is very good and u showed how to solo it very easy BUT i found another way which could help u: For first encounter i played his Celestial Nighthawk build and used healing grenade and Epochal Integration for upkeeping restoration. I dpsd with gg and lament the boss how mactics explained in the vid. The second encounter i sticked with gg and used the same hc. I swapped lament with dragons breath and had as kinetic weapon >A Distant Pull< equipped (Focused Fury; Triple tap). I first took out the minotaurs then proceeded to kill the scorn on the right side. After that i destroyed most of the eyes till another wave of scorn were spawning. After i killed the eye i went to the save fire spot and waited for scorn boss to spawn. After he spawned i shot him to low hp till he spawned a beacon. Then i killed it, threw a healing grenade and went on capturing it. After i did it i went back to safe spot and waited biting cold out. Then i used healing grenade, got some kills to keep it up and got both orbs into place rinse and repeat. If you are at boss dps make sure that u kill almost all scorn and taken eyes. Leave a few taken at the bottom. If u trigger boss dps u wanna get radiant and keep up restoration with those ads u left with throwing knifes and shoot dragon breath, then use gg. AFter that dragon breath deals your dmg and u focus on ad clear. After that u gonna swap plate rinse and repeat. And as u know it congrats u cleared the tempest. The third encounter was the hardest and i couldnt do it with mactics void setup. It comes as a suprise but i managed to do this boss with arc subclass using his melee build months ago. I used gathering storm and dragons breath as dps and used rufus fury for destroying eyes. It was hard to overcome this challenge but i managed it. When i didnt have ammo for dragons breath i used malfeasance build. Rinse and repeat. It is complex what ive used for this and im sure there will be discussion about how his version is easier to perform than mine, but we all are human and we all have ways of doing something easier than another one can. If any questions may come up to you just post smth below this comment. Thanks and gl onto soloing this dungeon! ~beniiK

For the ogre boss, I think the flames are just time-based, not boss location based but I could be totally wrong. In my runs I'd have him right up in my face on the flames for a good amount of time on occasion.
Thanks for the guide! I have one question I was hoping you might be able help me with. Do you have any tips on the first section of getting out of the cage? I'm having a really hard time finding those eyes every time to shoot.
for anyone who doesn't know at this point, once all of the eyes fill, the boss ends the DPS. if you have tether on the boss in the right spot you will collateral the eyes and get the full DPS phases.
I solo flawlessed it yesterday, I think the dungeon is the goldilocks of all the others. First boss too easy, last boss too hard, middle boss just right. (Can't watch the video rn, though I imagine it is good, this is just how I did it) Here were my loadouts: First Boss: Liar's and Tractor w/ 1-2 Punch Shotgun, simple as that. Never died to ads or the boss, ONLY to the stupid cage part. Second Boss: -First Loadout: Trinity Ghoul, Apex Predator, 1-2 Punch Shotgun. Assassin's Cowl, Arc (Gathering Storm) -Get combination blow x3 and kill stuff until you are ready to shoot the blights. Trinity Ghoul 1 shots with a lightning arrow, or with a 1x Arc Surge. Once all Blights are dead, go to the LEFT scorn guy, shotgun, punch, shotgun, shotgun, and wait until he throws out his thing then kill him. Do that 2 times for all 4 flames. Deposit 3 of the 4 flames, leaving one of the close totems until. When you've done 3, Switch to this loadout. Second Loadout: Witherhoard, Apex, Some long range gun (e.g Autorifle). Stareaters W/ 2 surges and 1 orb heal. Get 4 stacks of Stareaters, then clear ads (ESPECIALY SNIPERS), and dunk the last flame into the close totem. Watch your health as you dps him, if it starts to get low pop Stareaters, since it will heal and give you an overshield. Stick him with Witherhoard, shoot and use Apex, and you should be able to get a pretty quick and comfortable 5/6 phase, with the added safety of Stareaters. Once dps is over, switch to one and rinse repeat. Last Boss: You'll need Solar here, since I found other subclasses to be too hard to manage and stuff. -Loadout one: Assassin's Cowl, Sunshot, Empyrean, Healing Nades. (Sunshot, Fusion, Trials GL Launcher (Ron also works). DO NOT put on the fragment where firesprites grant resto, as they override Empyrean's timer and gives you 2 seconds of resto instantly, even if you have 12. -Pop nade, and throw knives when ads spawn, then kill them to extend your duration. Sunshot can kill both eyes if you shoot the middle one, and will also extend your duration. When the big guys spawn, make sure you have ads alive to go invis off of. I like to do one totem, give my Hex away and then possibly do the last or prep for dps. Make sure you have Restoration the whole time though. Go invis before Imminent Wish runs out, and switch to this loadout. Second Loadout: (Saw this on a video, guy had a green snowflake pfp, if you see this, you're a legend for how good this was) -Celestial w/ Solar weakening abilities (Artifact Mod), Still have all other weapons on. MAKE SURE you have 1 healing mod on, as this saved my life and got me the clear (1 health, popped Celestial and got a orb to heal) When ads spawn hit them with Sunshot to get Restoration up, then hit the boss in the crit, insta sending him to the next floor. Kill ads, switch back to 1, and go to the next floor. Kill witches with fusion, then knife, and clear blights. Rinse repeat. Final Floor/s: You can leech off of the eyes for resto, you should have gl ammo saved from using the supers, damage the boss and leech off the eyes, then rinse repeat. If done right should be a 3 phase. Final stand: Make sure you either have restoration already, or a nade. Tickle the boss until he dies, and continue to kill eyes to get restoration. Once you do that, you're done
for lament you can actually do 5 light attacks after blocking and than do a heavy attack, after that do 2 light attacks and you can get your energy back quickly if you use lucent blade on your chest
another thing i was thinking of when i was watching u fight the locus of wailing grief is using quickfall on the boss whenever you go invisible since it applies the weakened debuff. More debuffs per phase, i like this build a lot
Random, but I think they finally fixed the Ember of Mercy interaction with firesprites! Firesprites have the potential to drastically increase hunter survivability! Try adding ember of tempering and searing to your solar hunter builds - feeling pretty great right now.
Excellent video!!!! Very informative and taught me the roles i haven't really done much before do to my fireteam doing them in general. Now I know how do them and the mechanics. thank you
So nice to see Lucky Pants being used for this! I'm curious though, how significant would the damage/damage resistance difference be if I did my solo at 1830, vs 1817, which is my current light level?
It shouldn’t be too big of a difference. The boss is at 1810 or 1820 or something like that. So it’ll be the difference of just a little bit of damage. Have resists on and you’ll be fine
On those damage phases that you skip on the first boss, it’s nice that you’re running Witherhoard, because you can always at least pop one of those to get some damage off and then hide
I'd be interested to know which class you find easiest and most reliable for solo FL WR? as someone who plays all three and is having a difficult time deciding which to try.
I really want to try this build! I've been trying a Dawn Chorus build which is fantastic damage but I feel like the restoration nerf is really noticable, mostly because I'm not used to warlock. I wanted to ask what you would suggest in place of Apex Predator if one doesn't have one yet, since I do really like Malfeascence here.
@Mactics would you be able to make a guide for the triumph " Cut with Darkage Steel O Vengeance Mine" ? it's the triumph that makes you use bow/glaive/sword only, any advice on the subject would be greatly appreciated 🙂
Man I’m on PS4 and i haven’t killed the first boss a single time yet cuz i cannot ever find the 3 blight eyes in the cage to shoot hardly ever… i try to look at my radar, looking, around, everything but i can never get through the whole encounter…. So irritating
Love your channel bub. I have a random, possibly stupid question... is there any way to change the text colors of the buff areas, like where it says "biting cold" because its white and super hard for this old man to see it.... hate that. Don't expect an answer but I appreciate your skill and all the work you must put in to your vids.
Thank you for taking the time to make such a comprehensive, informative vid. Not attempted the solo run yet but I feel much more prepared after watching this. Awesome!
(Weekend player)don’t do raid, but interested in learning the mechanics of the game. Appreciate the emplaning, tips and tricks. Yep, I watch it to the end.
For a different dps option Leviathans breath keeps the ogre from shooting you he gets permanent stunned it’s also a good option for the final boss as well.
@@Ïurossa its not about speed.. it’s about safety.. ya know now dying on a flawless run I mean that is the whole point after all. Keeps the ogre from running you down or pushing you around constantly if you aren’t running invis.
Theres lots of things that can go wrong in the mechanic phase of the Ogre encounter...biting cold, unlucky 1 shot by scorn snipers, getting booped off the back ledge...I would want to eliminate as many phases as possible from that encounter. Assasin arc strider is probably the safest way to get to damage but its takes several extra phases.
What's a good replacement for your rocket I don't have apex with bait and switch I've got a field prep vorpal hot head or auto chill clip bump it the night
I'm sorry for the lack of advice here, but just get apex or a better roll on hothead, really your only two options (Hothead rolls to look for are field prep + clown cartridge, or auto loading + explosive light)
Auto loading frenzy bump in the night isn't the worst thing ever if you give it impact casing (assuming bump in the night is the one you have craftable)
So I'm finally doing it solo. Thanks for the guide. Shame I'm facing a very annoying bug. I'm locked forever in jail. One of the jail gate is opened and closed at the same time... I can't leave the first jail cell....I'm stuck forever.... Did this happen to anyone before ?
You get so lucky how you manage to get him to spawn 1 totem everytime? For me he don’t spawn the first I have to kill him in order to make him drop it. If I don’t the timer starts I don’t get it. What am I doing wrong?
I am really impressed by your game presence and understanding of when and how to use these build kits to their full advantage. I think the reason I am so TRASH at this game is that I am not thinking about the buff/debuff mechanics enough. This video helped me see that. Thank you

it's the triumph that makes you use bow/glaive/sword only, any advice on the subject would be greatly appreciated 🙂
Thanks Mac for the informative guide!
Thank you for that, an excellent guide as always with some really interesting and useful strat tips!
lol @ 43:01 “oh shoot time to reset and pull
My backwards jump across the map”
Thank you mac . I’m going to give it a shot.
Man I’m on PS4 and i haven’t killed the first boss a single time yet cuz i cannot ever find the 3 blight eyes in the cage to shoot hardly ever… i try to look at my radar, looking, around, everything but i can never get through the whole encounter…. So irritating
Mac I appreciate you taking my advice and going void lucky pants. Your awesome and a good Destiny player
Love your videos! This was fantastic and very informative! Please keep it up!
Also is there a way I can get the links to your builds here?
Love your channel bub. I have a random, possibly stupid question... is there any way to change the text colors of the buff areas, like where it says "biting cold" because its white and super hard for this old man to see it.... hate that. Don't expect an answer but I appreciate your skill and all the work you must put in to your vids.
meanwhile titans do it in 17minutes....
/edit: were approaching 10min now (10:48 by xemo as of this edit).
Nobody asked.
@@TerraTheWiselmao exactly.? Destiny community can’t help but to be toxic.

@@TerraTheWiseI did.
Playing on easy mode isn't a flex kid.
Great guidance and tips. Very much appreciated. 🍺
Thank you for taking the time to make such a comprehensive, informative vid. Not attempted the solo run yet but I feel much more prepared after watching this. Awesome!
what will be better for solo and as a team bequest or lament?
Why did it take me 10 years to find this man?
Tyranny of Heaven trivializes the adds. I totally recommend it. Dragonfly and incandescent enhanced is better but regular will do.
as a strafe jump enthusiast, a sword is REQUIRED for the jump at 50:00
Did you think about using arc and assassins cowl ? That was my first thought running through it
Arc cowl is much harder for this dungeon imo. However, arc cowl makes ghosts of the deep a breeze.
Thank you for the guide, Mac
Are you going to do a dungeon secrets run thru there were a bunch of them you ignored when you had the chance
Solo flawless dungeon using Omni? Be still my heart.
I typically run solar with Assassin's Cowl so I'm excited to give this a try.
Great video! Very helpful video!
This video was super helpful! I’m about to go give it a go wish me luck!
What do you get from soloing?
I keep dying in the cage. Ill find 2 eyes and not the third. Its frustrating.
To slow for a hunter solo
@@Ïurossa its not about speed.. it’s about safety.. ya know now dying on a flawless run I mean that is the whole point after all. Keeps the ogre from running you down or pushing you around constantly if you aren’t running invis.
Theres lots of things that can go wrong in the mechanic phase of the Ogre encounter...biting cold, unlucky 1 shot by scorn snipers, getting booped off the back ledge...I would want to eliminate as many phases as possible from that encounter. Assasin arc strider is probably the safest way to get to damage but its takes several extra phases.
In boss encounters with lots of stuff shooting at you arc cowl is always a safe bet@@rentedmule169
What's a good replacement for your rocket I don't have apex with bait and switch I've got a field prep vorpal hot head or auto chill clip bump it the night
I'm sorry for the lack of advice here, but just get apex or a better roll on hothead, really your only two options
(Hothead rolls to look for are field prep + clown cartridge, or auto loading + explosive light)
Auto loading frenzy bump in the night isn't the worst thing ever if you give it impact casing (assuming bump in the night is the one you have craftable)
@@oxsila no but it's linear impact auto loading an chill clip
Is whisper a good option for the final boss ?
What shader was you using??
So I'm finally doing it solo. Thanks for the guide. Shame I'm facing a very annoying bug. I'm locked forever in jail. One of the jail gate is opened and closed at the same time... I can't leave the first jail cell....I'm stuck forever.... Did this happen to anyone before ?
Thank you very much !
Awesome guide!
Mactics and Omnioculous, better love story than Twilight
I'm always amazed by the quality of your guides Mac, it's insanely helpful - even tho i'm a long time veteran :)
Thank you this is amazing
My favorite guides 👊🏼
You get so lucky how you manage to get him to spawn 1 totem everytime? For me he don’t spawn the first I have to kill him in order to make him drop it. If I don’t the timer starts I don’t get it. What am I doing wrong?
Note: you will not only get bird error code sometime you'll get bee error code and maybe banboo
What’s pardon our dust roll in opening encounter?
For the jail encounter, another way to think about it is “White is right”. So the two white lines scratched on the rock, go to the right
Dude, more than any other streamer, you’ve helped me become a better player. Great vids, as always.
My understanding is the boss makes the floor taken when he gets all his eyes up. So not actually going camo
ohhhhh interesting
I am really impressed by your game presence and understanding of when and how to use these build kits to their full advantage. I think the reason I am so TRASH at this game is that I am not thinking about the buff/debuff mechanics enough. This video helped me see that. Thank you
The next dungeon, I probably never will be able to do. So sad. Only ever managed to do Shattered Throne once, and the Group finder still far away.
It’s fully rolling out next season from what I heard. Also, there is a very active discord server that does lfg. Plenty of nice people looking to help others through content.
Dude, you're the best
